- kaoru777, on 05/24/2008, -7/+111It will not be Hillary. Not an option.
- funkedup, on 05/24/2008, -1/+98People that suggest that Ron Paul and Barack Obama should run on the same ticket clearly do not understand either of them.
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -12/+99Not Hillary Clinton or Ed Rendell! Heck NO!
I'm keeping my finger's crossed for Jim Webb OR Kathleen Sebelius. Either of these would be great for Obama.
Clinton and Rendell.......dirty old politic's! - WeirdEdsel, on 05/24/2008, -5/+82Stephen Colbert.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -9/+84If Hillary Clinton gets the VP she will have Obama murdered.
- yacks, on 05/24/2008, -1/+72They need to find someone with the last name of Rama, so then they could have the Obama-Rama '08 Ticket.
- thirdcoastborn, on 05/24/2008, -6/+62Edwards didn't do much for Kerry. Richardson would be my pick specifically for the latino vote.
- CannedMango, on 05/24/2008, -4/+51My Picks would be:
• Dennis Kucinich
• Henry Waxman
• Chris Dodd
• Bill Richardson
Though I've gotta say that Kathleen Sebelius is an interesting idea, simply because it would destroy Hillary Clinton as she would not longer be the first woman in the White House. - JekJob, on 05/24/2008, -3/+44Very nice, but what about Edwards, Richardson, Bob Casey, Claire McCaskill and others?
Although I doubt Obama would pick Edwards, any of these people are vastly better choices than Clinton or Rendell. Remember when Rendell said right to college students' faces that they were naive for voting for Obama? There's no way in hell Obama is even considering him. I agree with RHMiller, even if he really wanted to pick Hillary or one of his surrogates, I don't think he'd be able to because it would pretty much destroy the whole "change Washington" platform that he is running on.
Whoever he chooses, Obama '08. - bluevillage, on 05/24/2008, -2/+41Main reason not to take Hillary is that, after her charade of a campaign, she can't be trusted, has no credibility. She now has 75% of the country against her and no chance to redeem herself with voters.
- j0hneb0y81, on 05/24/2008, -4/+39its not about Hillary being a woman.... that's never been the issue
its about her being ... well, her.. - elshizzo, on 05/24/2008, -8/+40Buried for inaccurate title. This is just someone's opinion. There is no guarantee that, as the title says, one of those 4 will be Obama's VP.
- jtbndy, on 05/24/2008, -2/+33Joe Biden is my guess.
- tcbishop12, on 05/24/2008, -7/+35You want someone in the #2 VP slot ready to be President -- someone with executive, administrative experience and strong foreign policy credentials, as well as someone who is a great campaigner and able to generate key votes and voting blocs among the electorate that the #1 candidate wouldn't necessarily get.
For all of these reasons, my vote for VP would be Bill Richardson over everyone, even Biden and Webb. Biden is savvy, cunning and brilliant, but he lacks executive experience and his temper often, often betrays him. Webb has not even yet committed to supporting Obama, but Bill Richardson took a courageous stand for Obama that may have turned the tide of public opinion when it really, really counted (just after Wright, Act 1 and the Philadelphia speech).
Had Obama not been running, I would have backed Richardson. Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign called for the removal of all of our troops within a year's time from Iraq. His campaign called for a complete reform of education in this country. And his campaign had an aggressive clean energy plan and one of the most ambitious standards for reducing global warming.
His global diplomatic experience is robust and he is known for having approached foreign policy issues with distinct clarity. He has previously served as a U.S. Representative, Ambassador to the United Nations, and as the U.S. Secretary of Energy. He was chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention as well as Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association in 2005 and 2006, overseeing the Democrats' re-capturing of a majority of the country's governorships. Richardson has been recognized for negotiating the release of hostages, American servicemen, and political prisoners in North Korea, Iraq, and Cuba.
Governor Richardson has an excellent administrative record and is the only Hispanic Governor in the United States, other than then-Governor Sila María Calderón of Puerto Rico. He has a strong appeal to and can help deliver the Hispanic communities of *Florida* and many other regions. Sen. Obama's appeal across the board (take a look at Ohio today) is much stronger than most people think. - absolutroot, on 05/24/2008, -3/+30After Hilary's latest comments, I don't see her ever being in any executive office.
- TheBuz, on 05/24/2008, -2/+25I love Richardson, and in a perfect world that is who I would have on his VP slot. However Jim Webb is what is going to win it for him come election time.
- totorototoro, on 05/24/2008, -3/+25http://www.surveyusa.com/index.php/2008/05/23/ohio ...
Obama-Edwards, damn. - oldhick, on 05/24/2008, -4/+25If Hillary ended up on the ticket it would prove his words to be hollow and his integrity to be absent.
- travis6690, on 05/24/2008, -1/+20And what happens if the President dies?
- redcolumbine, on 05/24/2008, -8/+27I sure wouldn't mind if he'd consider Wes Clark.
- Midoc, on 05/24/2008, -0/+18Edwards doesn't want to be Vice President, he wants to be Attorney General.
- duluxanon, on 05/24/2008, -1/+19I doubt he'd pick Hillary as VP - he'd be afraid of a loud bang from the grassy knoll from one of her undereducated, racist blue rinse brigade. Or one of Bills old buddys.
- senorcool, on 05/24/2008, -4/+22Im hoping for Richardson or the extremely unlikely event of Blomberg as Obama's VP
- Jareth86, on 05/24/2008, -3/+20So one of these four is the final cylon... wait.
- insomniac8400, on 05/24/2008, -2/+18I hope he chooses Richardson. The VP is very pointless domestically, but Richardson is a great choice when one of Obama's main selling points is diplomacy in the world instead of wars. Richardson's resume can't be beat when it comes to foreign diplomacy. Not only that, but Richardson is also a governor of a state. So he has experience in leading in addition to his diplomatic experience. Hillary would be disgusting. Her being VP would drive me away from Obama. I like Obama, but I cannot vote to put Hillary so close to the presidency. And any Hillary supporter under Obama would also be a travesty. Hillary has shown she is corrupt. And anyone who supports her in my opinion is also corrupt.
- wraptor347, on 05/24/2008, -1/+17Richardson also offers a LOT of foreign policy experience, which would really help the Obama campaign. Richardson is my pick and would be an excellent choice because of his experience and popularity.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -2/+18I like Chuck Hagel
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -5/+20IdigObama
god bless you but please remember that apostrophes are only used for possessives and contractions. - santaliqueur, on 05/24/2008, -1/+16Hillary would be thrilled to be the VP candidate. You know, in case of assassination.
- mantis108, on 05/24/2008, -0/+14clever, but i'd prefer someone with the last name of Bingeladin, for the Obama-Bingeladin '08 ticket, just to really throw those West Virginians into a ripe tizzy. I'd take Obama-Yourmama as a second preference.
- MrSlumberjack, on 05/24/2008, -1/+15True that. She's experienced when it comes to sniper fire.
- melondoc, on 05/24/2008, -2/+16No matter whether she is VP or not, I'm sure Clinton will do everything in her power to undermine an Obama administration, with one eye on 2012. I wonder in which position she can do least damage to the Democratic party and the country?
- Reaktor5, on 05/24/2008, -1/+15Dear Concerned Digg User,
Please use the filter if you do not want to see any political stories. - seandaly, on 05/24/2008, -0/+13Kerry could have had John F. Kennedy himself as his running-mate and still ***** it up.
Kerry dropped the ball and was a complete pussy. Edwards was too green to be up against Bush/Cheney at the time. - HenvY, on 05/24/2008, -1/+14Being black is already negatively effecting Obama's chances(not that it should, of course), how do you think that is going to be amplified if it's a complete minority ticket? Obama's VP will be white, bet the ranch on that.
- Whaines, on 05/24/2008, -0/+12You'd prefer McCain?
- stevenb486, on 05/24/2008, -0/+12You're forgetting Cheney.
Also VP is head of the senate. - wc3452, on 05/24/2008, -2/+14But everybody on digg tells me to vote for Ron Paul or Barack Obama! I'm confused, wouldn't it be a dream ticket?!!?!?!1/1//1
- wefarrell, on 05/24/2008, -3/+15I've heard people speculate about Bloomberg as well, who would be my personal favorite. He's a Republican on the ticket but he was a democrat all his life and he's progressive. He's also a financial whiz and with the fiscal mess this country is in right now we need someone who knows a thing or two about economics.
- inactive, on 05/24/2008, -1/+11Why not run with Techno Viking.
- Reaktor5, on 05/24/2008, -4/+14I hope Obama puts Al Gore in a spot in his cabinet when he is president.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 05/24/2008, -1/+10Edwards is about as white as could be. he would offset the black issue, and more white voters would vote Obama.
Hillary would be a poor choice as she wants to be president. She's going to try to sabotage Obama, and she's taken more lobby money than anyone. - petenutz, on 05/24/2008, -0/+9And he should seriously fear for his life if she were VP. You know that's true.
- IanPR, on 05/24/2008, -0/+8Bye bye Iran!
- cme884, on 05/24/2008, -0/+8Only if he keeps the beard. We haven't had a Prez or VP who could rock facial hair and get away with it in some time.
- seandaly, on 05/24/2008, -1/+9Exactly... Then he can run again in `12 or `16 (remember, he's still young) and attempt a Bobby Kennedy (minus the whole getting shot in the head at a hotel part).
- RSS14, on 05/24/2008, -14/+21If Hillary is his VP, I guarantee Obama will get assassinated . . .
- rmxz, on 05/24/2008, -1/+8Perhaps it'd be amusing if he picked Monica L, just to see the look on Hillary's face.
