elections.foxnews.com — Barack Obama ’s longtime pastor once questioned America’s role in the spread of the AIDS virus and suggested that the United States bore some responsibility for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

"It is true that my Pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who will be retiring this month, is somebody who on occasion can say controversial things. Most of them by the way are controversial directed at the African American Community and calling on them start reading books and turn off the T.V. set and engage in self help. And he is very active in prison ministries and so forth." - Himself, on 03/15/2008, -0/+8Use the precise term: the man IS a racist.

- cgrcrazie08, on 03/14/2008, -3/+26it struck me as odd how the man retired from the church in february...i mean, what are the chances barack asked him to do this in an effort to keep any of this out of the limelight?? once this hits mainstream, it could be very bad.
- MadKennyP, on 03/14/2008, -20/+7Pastor John Hagee called the Catholic Church “the Great Whore,” and accused it of inspiring Adolf Hitler to initiate the Holocaust. Hagee believes that “Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans” for hosting a gay pride parade.
McCain and his staff actively sought out Hagee’s endorsement, he appeared and campaigned with Hagee, he said he was proud to be backed by Hagee. McCain, who had been courting the endorsement for over a year, said that he was “very honored by Pastor John Hagee’s endorsement.”- jdmgomoo, on 03/14/2008, -4/+16And this fact has anything to do with Obama's "Spiritual Leader", the pastor of Obama's church being completely crazy? Last I checked McCain was just another stupid politician trying to placate the masses. I'm sure you'd be "Honored" too if you were running for office. But did McCain attend Hagee's church as a member?
- RepubOperative, on 03/14/2008, -1/+6"But did McCain attend Hagee's church as a member?"....FOR TWENTY YEARS!
- egjergji, on 03/14/2008, -5/+13Hagee is anti gay and anti catholicism... 90% of America could care less, as they are not gay nor true Catholics.
But 100% of Americans better give a damn over insider terroristic preachers that preach against all of us as Americans. All Americans better pay attention to Barrack Obama, not because his middle name is Hussein, but because a large part of his JUDGMENT comes from his wife and his pastor. After all, Obama has NO RECORD, but we must all trust his judgment.- MadKennyP, on 03/14/2008, -8/+4100% of Americans better think you are a lunatic! We DO have First Amendment rights in the United States -- and that includes the right to speak out against terroristic preachers that preach HATE against Americans.
Truth is, MadKennyP is the one who doesn't care about the Constitution. - bitORlogic, on 03/15/2008, -0/+1"terroristic"? Did this guy blow somebody up? He said some incredibly stupid things, but let's keep this in perspective.
- MadKennyP, on 03/14/2008, -8/+4100% of Americans better think you are a lunatic! We DO have First Amendment rights in the United States, or do you not care about The Constitution??
- FritzKatz, on 03/14/2008, -1/+10McCain-Hagee and Obama-Wright simply don’t compare. Hagee and McCain ain’t Wright and Obama. Hagee didn’t marry John and Cindy McCain. Hagee didn’t inspire one of McCain’s books. McCain didn’t choose to make Hagee a key part of his family life for 20 years.
McCain was just pandering to an influential evangelist to get votes. - dan222555, on 03/14/2008, -1/+4There's a fundamental difference between a controversial figure supporting a candidate and a candidate supporting a controversial figure.
- jdmgomoo, on 03/14/2008, -4/+16And this fact has anything to do with Obama's "Spiritual Leader", the pastor of Obama's church being completely crazy? - jdmgomoo, on 03/14/2008, -5/+26So is Obama a wolf in sheep’s clothing? If he relies on this guy for spiritual advice, or any advice or that matter, the U.S. is in for a crazy ride. This guy makes Farcon look normal. I only hope the Press will expose this topic affectively. As long as people who support Obama know what he really thinks, or respects at least, then you get what you deserve.
- psiege, on 03/14/2008, -8/+27Obama is such a great and powerful speaker, that I think he's managed to deceive everyone, including the media. However, the sheepskin covering is beginning to rapidly deteriorate and we are now learning who Obama _really_ is. Let this be a great lesson to the left. A great speaker does not by default make him a great person, rather it makes him all the better at deception.

he just rambles and you morons think it's wonderful- psiege, on 03/14/2008, -1/+9I agree that he doesn't "say" anything when he speaks, and was more referring to the masses/media that tout his ability to speak. I personally have seen right through this guy from day one.

- cmpastore, on 03/14/2008, -5/+22Nothing but pure racist ranting coming from this Pastor. How can 20 years of listening to, joining in and idolizing this Pastor not influence Obama? Unfortunately most of America is blind and will vote for him because he is black. Our country has been conditioned to love anything to do with rap and to be ashamed of ourselves if we have money. He would not be where he is today in this race for president without that fact. He has no accomplishments behind him in the Senate. He is inexperienced and apparently trying to fool his way into the white house. Wonder if he will change the name to Black House... that must be a racist name? I guess he can seek an opinion from his Pastor. He can deny he shares the same ideas as his Pastor does but his wife Michelle said in an interview that she only recently became proud of her country (I guess because her husband was winning?) and that America is a bully around the world.
How many years have Blacks fought for racial equality and yet every time they get a chance they separate themselves from the rest of America? Black Entertainment Television, Miss Black USA, Black only Schools etc. Why can't they be just Americans like the rest of us? It's sickening already.
I don't care much for McCain but I will be voting for him. Never a Liberal or Democrat, ever. Did we not learn our lesson from Clinton or Carter? Two of the worst presidents our country has ever had. - dixieedd, on 03/14/2008, -5/+20considering that oabama and his wife have been going to this church for 20 years, supporting it financially, having their kids baptized there, and having this pastor marry them,,,,it's like this! anyone who believes/thinks that barack and michelle obama DO NOT share this pastors opinions and ideology surely also believes in santa claus and the easter bunny!!!

- slambert90, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1Thanks for the comment Bill Cunningham:
Most(I'm not saying all), Republican speakers rally support by using fear. Cunningham talked about Obama by saying he is "picturing himself as change, when he gets done with you, all you're gonna have in your pocket is change", playing on the fear of a weary US, economy and taxes. John McCain saying that he will not raise taxes is impossible; If he does so, you will see a W. Bush-like debt for the U.S. economy. By placing us in an unnecessary war and getting loans like their going out of still, we see the early stages of America losing their role of the #1 economic powerhouse.
Also by using his middle name Hussein. Cunningham tries to tap into American fear of the Islamic religion:
[...on the January 6 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Live on Sunday Night, It's Bill Cunningham, Cunningham repeatedly referred to Obama as "Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama." In fact, "Mohammed" is not a part of Obama's name. Cunningham also falsely claimed that Obama "was raised in madrassas in Indonesia" and accused Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, of being "black separatist" and "black racist." When a caller said, "[I]n my opinion, not the opinion of this show, in my opinion, Obama is a sleeper cell because his parents are Muslim," Cunningham responded, "Only one [parent]." While Cunningham did not respond to the caller's "sleeper cell" charge, earlier in the broadcast, he had asserted that "it would be a shock" "if Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama can be elected the president of this country in these difficult terrorist times." Cunningham also said during the broadcast: "I wonder if Barack Hussein Obama understands the danger inflicted upon the world by Muslim male extremists."]
credit: http://mediamatters.org/items/200802260005
After similar comments were made at a John McCain rally in Cincinnati, Ohio by Bill Cunningham, John McCain respectfully repudiated the comments made:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/26/mccain-su ...
Immediately after this respectful comment made by McCain, Cunningham went on Hannity and Colmes and called McCain a "manchurian candidate" and decided to support either Clinton or Nader just to attempt to break the support of Barack Obama.
It is also interesting to note that in the same sentence, Cunningham says "...at some point, the media will quit taking sides in this thing, and maybe start covering Barack Hussein Obama the same way they cover Bush, the same way they cover Cheney, the same way they cover every Republican." Why use Barack Obamas' full name while only referring to George Bush and Dick Cheney by their last name? Because he is one of the many Rush Limbaugh style Republicans who hope to rally support out of fear. Are the American people not tired of this after eight years of it? Even though I support Barack Obama, I do admire and respect the genuine comments made by John McCain on Bill Cunningham. I hope these two are able to battle it out in the national election, and I hope that all Americans will rally together in support of whomever is elected and persuade him/her to change this country and it's foreign policy for the better; after all, the President of the United States should not be the ruler of it, but the servant of the people, as stated in the Constitution.

- CieloChic, on 03/15/2008, -0/+2Your comment re nastronomical's is random, what does your opinion about American people have to do with his? The comments from the so called revered are explicitly racist and as such require the reproach of all people, whether european, american, white, or black. He stresses white american liberals because the of the obvious race allegations and the overwhelming support Obama receives from liberals.
By the way, there are dangerous, scary, violent, and uninformed people living in all countries, whether they have traveled or not. I haven't had the opportunity to travel yet, but I am bilingual and learning a third, I have friends of all races (color is not an adequate descriptor of my friends, since there is such a broad overlapping spectrum) and enjoy learning about other countries and races. And I haven't set foot in Europe.
Stereotypical generalizations are backward observations, you are doing exactly what you accuse "most" Americans of being--xenophobic. - Stevanoski, on 03/15/2008, -1/+4I have traveled too my friend. In most socialist countries like Belgium you need a box of chocolates to bribe their Motor Vehicle department to get your vehicle registered. Where some restaurants close for LUNCH. Where they have laws preventing you from firing anyone so all businesses are family ran, mom and pop usually, because no one wants to take a chance on the lazy youth. Shall I go on?

He's one of America's liberal cultural Marxists. There is nothing about America he likes. There is nothing about America he's proud of. I'm sure the reason Mrs. Obama isn't proud of her country is because she's been listening to this clown for 20 years.
Seeing as how Obama's mentor for the past 20 years has turned out to be Louis Farrakhan II, you would have to be out of your mind to vote for this man.- egjergji, on 03/14/2008, -4/+3Amen.
- reinventit, on 03/14/2008, -5/+1when dealing with this little one, keep in mind that she hates black people, she even advocates going into LA and KILLING everyone in South-Central, which is very close to a terrorist act of genocide. She also seems to hate gays and thinks they should be subjected to life threatening violence. If you look at her history you can see that these are her wishes, violence, killing, genocide, and corporate control. She is a cyst on the face of humanity.
- zanek, on 03/14/2008, -9/+6 I dont support Obama, but how is the Pastor wrong on what he said about 9/11 ? The US has paid for coups, gave Saddam weapons, gave Bin Laden money and weapons, etc.. and the blow back was 9/11.

- Winston84, on 03/14/2008, -3/+5It's wrong because it's "liberal" , "gay" "anti-american" "un-patriotic" "not the official party-line" or

- GhostyBoy, on 03/15/2008, -1/+3Building 7 side by side with a controlled demolition. Occam's razor says that it probably was:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73qK4j32iuo
Controlled demolition so far is the strongest hypothesis for why 3 buildings fell that day. For your consideration:
a) The buildings fell at nearly free-fall speed. With tons of steel supporting the building it is unlikely that they would have offered virtually no slow down or resistance to collapse.
http://www.glenbrook.k12.il.us/gbssci/phys/Class/n ...
b) Never before in history has a steel framed building collapsed due to fire, yet on 9/11 it happened 3 times in one day.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va& ...
c) Building 7 (the most blatant smoking gun) was not hit by a plane, yet still imploded at nearly free-fall speed, straight down later on that day.
http://www.betterbadnews.com/2006/04/11/popularity ...
d) Up to six weeks after the collapse, pools of molten metal were found in the rubble of all three buildings, suggesting the possibility of the use of the compound thermate or thermite, commonly used in controlled demolition.
http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2006/911-Thermite- ...
e) The name of the company that did the clean-up after 9/11 was called Controlled Demolition Inc. They were one of the very few companies liscenced to perform a controlled demolition, and they were key players in getting rid of the rubble (evidence) at ground zero. http://911review.com/coverup/groundzero.html
This is just the tip of the iceberg. The case for controlled demolition remains both strong and plausible.
Furthermore, here are some questions that have not been answered regarding this subject:
The U.S. boasts a multi-million dollar air defense network and the airlines have radar that are able to track every aircraft they have in the sky. Do you mean to say that you don't find it the slightest bit odd that these hi-jackers were able to completely bypass the entire U.S. military?
The pentagon is arguably one of the best defended and most advanced military buildings on the entire planet. Does it not seem strange that they were unable to shoot down a single unarmed commercial airliner? This was caught on tape by dozens of cameras. Why haven't they been released?
Why did the Bush administration hold off on the investigation for 441 days? Wouldn't they want a full and immediate investigation?
The families of the 9/11 victims asked Philip Zelikow to step down because of conflict of interest. Why were they ignored? They have maintained that the majority of their questions remain unanswered. Why has the U.S. government not responded? Would it not benefit everyone to have a comprehensive understanding of the events?
Why did Bush and Cheney insist on appearing together in front of the 9/11 commission despite the families wishes? Why did they refuse to have the conversation taped, or offer any transcripts, and refuse to go under oath?
As for "the governmentz" coming in when nobody was looking, let's remember that Building 7 was located in the WTC complex and it was home to the headquarters of the CIA and the FBI and some other high-level organizations. It seems to me that arming WTC 1,2 and 7 for demolition from this location is not entirely impossible, and would be much easier than training jihadists in a distant nation.
Did Bin Laden and Al-Queda know that if they hit the buildings in just such a way with those particular planes, that the ensuing fire would cause them to spontaneously collapse the way they did? Did they have blueprints of the buildings, as well as engineers and military advisers that were able to plan for the fires to destroy the towers this way? Or did they just plan to hit the buildings and were extremely lucky that the ensuing fire brought them down?
Surely they could not have anticipated that the debris and resulting fire would also cause building 7 to collapse, or do you hypothesize that this part of the attack was planned as well?
When Bush was in the classroom reading to the kids and was told about the attacks, why wasn't he immediately taken to safety? Instead he was put in front of the cameras in a picture perfect setting, surrounded by children, to give a speech for the nation. Wouldn't it make more sense to get the president immediately to safety?
The unanswered questions seem to go on and on. The families of the victims still feel their concerns have not been addressed. Still no one has been convicted in court of the conspiracy to mass murder these Americans. Still there is confusion about the events all over the world.
The case for 9/11 truth is extremely strong. The fact that no one in the media or government is willing to engage this in serious and honest debate does not imply that there is no evidence to consider, it implies that they are unwilling to open the Pandora's box that is the truth about 9/11.
There is a reason that people say the truth is stranger than fiction.

- facelesscoward, on 03/14/2008, -6/+2Please. I don't know who the people commenting on this article are, but I'm sure some of you are Ron Paul supporters who are resolutely standing behind him no matter what. If you actually read what Wright said, the 9/11 remarks are right in line with what Ron Paul has been saying in all of the debates. So if you want to criticize Obama for something in this regard, it should be for disagreeing with his former pastor, not for being close to him.
Now, the HIV and race comments are remnants of a mostly by-gone era. They're problematic, but understandable considering the United States's not-so-distant problems with race relations. He shouldn't have mentioned the Clintons specifically, but he's just saying that Obama knows what the black community has gone through, and recent race-baiting comments from Bill seem to indicate that he doesn't.
Regardless, Obama needs to make an strong effort to separate himself from the comments for the good of his election bid.- Louis11, on 03/14/2008, -0/+4Quite honestly I am not for any of the current candidates. With that said, hypothetically if I was strongly for a certain individual and it came to light that he had associated himself, and gleaned advice from a ranting fanatic: then my views on him would be changed dramatically.
Your associations with an individual don't necessarily mean you hold the same beliefs. What is problematic is the fact that Obama stuck with this guy for 20 years, and only during his bid for the presidency has he ever denounced what the pastor has said.
- Louis11, on 03/14/2008, -0/+4Quite honestly I am not for any of the current candidates. With that said, hypothetically if I was strongly for a certain individual and it came to light that he had associated himself, and gleaned advice from a ranting fanatic: then my views on him would be changed dramatically.
- psiege, on 03/14/2008, -0/+6His wife, his pastor, and many others around him have spewed this garbage for years. Not to mention, this pastor was the inspiration behind his book and part of his early campaign. He also attended this church for 20 years. He touts being of good judgment and being able to bring people together, yet he surrounds himself by, and only vaguely distances himself from, the people that say these things. I personally feel that he believes the things his pastor is saying, only he's smart enough to know that he certainly can't be elected by saying those things himself. The rhetoric that spills from his mouth is just that, false rhetoric.
Why else would a man continue to attend a church with messages like these for 20 years? Is that good judgment? No, it's not. And speaks volumes for a man's character.- bitORlogic, on 03/15/2008, -0/+1Are those the only messages the church endorses?
- tfox2k1, on 03/14/2008, -1/+4The so called black leadership, Jessie, Al, Lewis, and now Jeremiah Wright have repeatedly exposed themselves for being extreme racists. This extreme hatred towards whites needs to end, otherwise we will end up like a white South African, hunted to extinction in the country we built.
Many of these so called black leaders have much in common with the tactics used by Hitler. We are indeed in deep trouble if the likes of Obama become President of the US. - yeslovelife, on 03/14/2008, -1/+3video of obama spiritual leader http://avideditor.wordpress.com/2008/03/13/obamas- ...
- dunderballer, on 03/14/2008, -1/+4Wright is actually nuttier than the article leads onto believe. Of course Fox News believes the most severe form of insanity is that US Foreign policy has encouraged terrorism. Unfortunately, that is true and the 9/11 report confirms so.
His insanity relates to his preaching anti-white beliefs rather than calling for simple equality and tolerance. - DrStreet, on 03/14/2008, -0/+3Obama can claim that he doesn't share his pastors views all he wants, but I can't believe it. Just a couple of months ago his wife states that this is the first time in her life that she has been proud of her country. That statement alone show that they share their pastors views. Besides, who attends a church for 20 years without believing in their pastor?
- ohpiddle, on 03/15/2008, -0/+2Obama stood by his pastor when it was politically correct to have religion and now Obama is saying that his pastor never gave speeches like this when he went to church. Maybe his pastor has come down with turrets and can only sputter put downs the very country that has provided him such a nice home. Obama you have an agenda and it has nothing with doing this country any favors. You just have to hate it when you are face to face with the truth. His pronounced changes seem to be the same old same old. Wasn't Spritzer a golden boy also....hummm makes you wonder don't it. His wife must have gone to a lot of church since she utters the same hate.
