- HipsterSarah, on 03/16/2008, -9/+121What is Edwards waiting for, just endorse Obama already?!
- theuniversal, on 03/16/2008, -4/+112"fragile lead"
There's nothing fragile about Obama's lead. The press really does a good job of keeping this race alive. - cg4et, on 03/16/2008, -7/+67This will result in a net gain of delegates for Obama that at least matches the net gain that Hillary got from Ohio. And he could still pick up more at the District Conventions and at the State Convention. The math for Team Hillary just keeps getting harder to overcome.
- DiggLive, on 03/16/2008, -3/+57By the end, Obama will have well over 1900 delegates. The amount of superdelegates he'll need for the nomination keeps shrinking, along with Hillary's chances of stealing it.
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -4/+47What is Edwards waiting for? Is he so intent on a job in the White House that he is going to wait for the winner to be announced until he endorses? I really thought that he would endorse Obama, too bad he is going to play politics instead of doing the right thing.
- JigoroKano, on 03/16/2008, -4/+44Hillary has to get 64% of the remaining elected delegates to have a majority.
Not very likely. - geneusutwerk, on 03/16/2008, -8/+47Can we call it now and maybe have a united front against the great Republican machine?
- rzxc, on 03/16/2008, -15/+47What?! The delegates didn't switch to the crying, racist, Republican wannabe, McCain loving, went-on-a-diplomatic-mission-with-Sinbad-and-Sheryl-Crow-and-that's-how-you-know-she's-ready-to-be-President, bitch know as Hillary?! This is an outrage. I'm shocked.
- imgstacke, on 03/16/2008, -2/+34These guys (MSM) see nothing but ratings. They want more debates, more gossip, more mudsliinging. == Profit.
- pedo, on 03/16/2008, -1/+25he needs to do it before Pennsylvania, but I think he would have done it by now if he was going to. Same with Richardson.
- brstilson, on 03/16/2008, -4/+26Hillary Clinton reminds me of Wes Mantooth.
"Those ratings don't take into account households with two television sets...and.....other things...of that nature!" - zephyear, on 03/16/2008, -6/+26edwards endorse obama, ***** is there anywhere i can email him about this or something. he appeals to the middle working class a lot and his endorsement would help a ***** lot in pennsylvania
- pintomp3, on 03/16/2008, -1/+18obama is racist because the former pastor of his church has bitter memories of growing up black in the 50's and 60's?
- DeadFox1, on 03/16/2008, -3/+17I go here to keep up to date on the delegate count: http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/
not spam. it's a good non-biased website. (if you don't count liberal vs. conservative) - jbhannah, on 03/16/2008, -2/+15Additionally: Hillary could win Pennsylvania 121-37, split the rest 50/50 with 5 odd delegates extra going to her, and Obama would still have 2025.
- Andareed, on 03/16/2008, -8/+21Clinton lost one of her delegates today! How much worse can it get for Clinton?
- GhostyBoy, on 03/16/2008, -0/+13Hillary is like Paris Hilton, Bill O'Reilly, Britney Spears, Ann Coulter, Gene Simmons and Nickelback.
Everyday you think, 'well they just proved their own complete worthlessness to society *again* today, so that will be the end of that.'
But the next morning you wake up and they are *still there*, pedaling their stupidity to so many fools. - sulthernao, on 03/16/2008, -2/+14Needs an even higher percentage of the vote because of the proportional voting system. The only time she has broken 60% before is in Arkansas.
- akatsuki, on 03/16/2008, -3/+15I object to the word fragile, insurmountable would be more accurate at this point.
- zKman, on 03/16/2008, -1/+12Obama gained 9 delegates, Clinton lost 1, meaning a net +10 gain in Iowa. That's one more than Hillary's +9 in Ohio!
- jbhannah, on 03/16/2008, -3/+14Hillary's superdelegate lead was once over 150. According to CNN it's now down to 30, and at this rate by the end of April he'll have the superdelegate lead by at least that much. Even if every remaining delegate goes half to Obama, half to Hillary, Obama will still break 2025. Related link: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/29/delegate.co ...
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -0/+10Says the Right Wing Shill. Check his posting history for a good laugh, folks. These morons think irony is what you do to clothes.
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -2/+12Sorry the article wasn't from the Clinton News Network.
By the way, practically all sites are ad-supported now. Have you looked to the right lately? - empirefalling, on 03/16/2008, -8/+17It is now assured that Barack Obama will become Leader of the United States. The secondary party of the Republicans has no realistic candidates and is rapidly fading into obscurity. The rapid ascension of Barack Obama to Leader can only be attributed to the strong will of the oppressed masses in the United States hearing the cries of the World Body for the United States to turn from it’s current tyrannical direction. Barack Obama as Leader of the United States now has the opportunity to reverse various iniquitous US actions against the World Body and begin to heal the damage done. It will take years to relegate the horrors the US military has wrought upon the innumerable innocent victims across the World. But the damage has been done and in many cases, it is irreversible and terminal.
- DiggLive, on 03/16/2008, -1/+10Most of us don't watch Fox News. I watch MSNBC 100% of the time myself.
- Omega697, on 03/16/2008, -2/+1066.2% by my estimates. There are 516 left, and she needs 342 of them.
- diggB, on 03/16/2008, -5/+13Ya know, I'd be quite satisfied with an Obama-Edwards ticket, especially if you compare it to an Obama-Clinton ticket (an Obama-Clinton ticket would make my head explode into a gooey mess ... love Barak, hate, hate, HATE Hillary ... does not compute ... error ... error! ... ARRRRRRRRGGGGGG!! Pop!).
- byrdgang, on 03/16/2008, -4/+12It appears Edwards played politics quite a few times. On the Iraq vote, he did the popular thing. On the Patriot Act, he did the popular thing. He's iffy on gay marriage, and if I am not mistaken, he's changed his position since 2004, however slightly.
Edwards shows a pattern of changing his tune as time goes. If he's railing Patriot Act today, there's no reason he wouldn't have railed against it when he originally voted for it.
I used to think of him as a genuine guy, but it seems the lawyer in him fooled me. - wastelander, on 03/16/2008, -0/+8and your a poopy-mouth!
- junkwheel, on 03/16/2008, -5/+12Pant suits can't block hummer mounted lasers.
- dagamer34, on 03/16/2008, -0/+7Hillary will still claim that Ohio is worth a LOT more than Iowa. Ask Guiliani how that "big state" strategy worked for him!
- felman87, on 03/16/2008, -3/+10he should've done that prior to super tuesday. All this could've been over with by now
- motivatedmama, on 03/16/2008, -3/+10Obama is also gaining support the world over. Seriously, read The Audacity Of Hope. I'm thinking he'll do his damnedest not to let the world down.
- byrdgang, on 03/16/2008, -2/+9I agree with everything you said except the racist part. Let's not start making stuff up regardless of how much we dislike her.
- iofthestorm, on 03/16/2008, -2/+9Seriously, Obama never really "got momentum" out of nowhere, he was winning in pledged delegates for a long time before he started winning in total delegates. In fact, I'd almost be willing to say he's always been winning in pledged delegates, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -3/+10I so agree. "Fragile"?? ***** you, AP. With a spork.
- Sic133, on 03/16/2008, -1/+8Do you share the same views as your pastor/minister/whatever? I don't.
- jjed824, on 03/16/2008, -0/+7Great political commentary. Get this man on C-SPAN.
- motivatedmama, on 03/16/2008, -1/+7I posted this article also, but from another source. As it was a duplicate I let it go. Any number of news agencies are carrying this story. The source doesn't negate the truth, sorry. Obama is gonna go all the way!
- Spoomeister, on 03/16/2008, -1/+7Oh, dear God, I just realized the true implications of an Edwards endorsement, or worse, an Edwards vice-presidential nod: having to hear "Ebony and Ivory", either played or referenced, about a billion times.
- MrObjectional, on 03/16/2008, -1/+7I'm getting 66.2%... repeating, of course.
- pintomp3, on 03/16/2008, -1/+7i agree. she hasn't said anything racist, only former members of her campaign. she has participated in race/religion-baiting by releasing those pictures though. calling her a racist isn't accurate though.
- zeiben, on 03/16/2008, -2/+7If he endorses now, he has to deal with bloggers and ***** calling him irrelevant, or accusing him of playing politics somehow. smart thing would be for him to not endorse, ever (even if he still has to deal with bloggers and ***** accusing him of playing politics). To criticize a guy for sticking to his word and "getting out of the way" is pretty weak.
Also, Edwards spoke to each of the candidates and pretty much told them the magic word they had to say to get his endorsement: "poverty". Neither of them like to use that word on the campaign trail (I don't blame them - it's not a big crowd pleaser), so it's no surprise that neither of them have gotten an endorsement.
I'm as gay for Obama as any digger out there, and I'd love for Edwards and Richardson to come out on the eve of Pennsylvania and beg voters to finish Hillary, but I respect them if they want to sit on the sidelines. Obama's doing a great job all on his own. - inactive, on 03/16/2008, -2/+7A politician playing politics? Hmmm imagine that.
- ReDoEr, on 03/16/2008, -1/+6an Obama-Clinton ticket will never happen, because Obama is not an idiot. How would you like to be President Obama, knowing that the only thing standing between Hillary and total power is YOUR heartbeat? Better double up the ol' Secret Service details.
- dBass, on 03/16/2008, -0/+5That's why Billary said "shame on Obama" for resorting to math, the last refuge of winning candidates.
- rz8472, on 03/16/2008, -0/+5He has always had the pledged delegate advantage. He was +1 over Hillary in Iowa, they broke even in New Hampshire, and he got +1 over Hillary in Nevada. Starting from South Carolina onwards, the gap only grew larger.
- DomesticDiva, on 03/16/2008, -2/+7A delegate a day keeps The Clintons away. hehe!
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -3/+7LOL, as if John Edwards has been sitting on the fence about this waiting to get the go ahead from The Great Zephyear, Digger Extraordinare!
- pedo, on 03/16/2008, -2/+6its sarcasm, people.
