- N3tw0rk, on 02/13/2008, -7/+130Hillary: "I am still in the lead in popular votes and total delegates."
Her state of denial is laughable. She won't even congratulate Obama on his recent wins. I don't know Clinton supporters can stick with her after all this deceit. - Shambla, on 02/13/2008, -1/+65Just some math that I did recently using this site's delegate count : http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/presi ...
Barack needs 753 delegates for the nomination. To win outright without any additional help from super delegates he would need a vote of roughly 70% in the remaining states, 79% if he were to split Texas and Ohio 50/50 with Hillary. Currently, Hillary owns superdelegates 2-1 (50% of superdelegates accounted for). If this trend were to continue Barack would need only 597 more pledged delegates from the states, or about 55% of the vote. If the superdelegate count would ultimately break even (possibly due to delegates voting with their constituents) Barack could actually lose the remaining popular vote/pledged delegates, and would need only 47% of the vote to secure 2025 total delegates. - qazturkey, on 02/13/2008, -6/+69BTW it's Gandhi

- LordJacor, on 02/13/2008, -2/+42Barack and the press agree: if the Democratic party is to maintain any credibility whatsoever for the November elections, the superdelegates must go with either
A) Whomever has the pledge delegate vote
B) Whomever has the popular vote
If you count states where delegates were counted, Obama leads both.
We will be working on increasing both counts to insure victory by August and then in November. - phaseblue, on 02/13/2008, -6/+42The lolcats say it best: http://yeswecanhas.com/2008/02/11/yes-we-can-has-c ...
- grees17, on 02/13/2008, -3/+37As much as I support Senator Obama, this deficit is not insurmountable at all. The dynamic of the Democratic primaries and their practice of proportional delegate assignment allows Senator Clinton to stay very close, a lead of 136 delegates- which is by FAR the highest estimate I've heard (most have been from 25-50) is not difficult to overcome, especially if Sen. Clinton wins huge in Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Senator Obama is suspected to run the table in the remainder of February, yet Sen. Clinton has an advantage in March and April.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see this go to all the way to the Democratic National Convention. The race is far from over. - Tiak, on 02/13/2008, -2/+34You realize he would have to be Muslim for that, right?
- orelses, on 02/13/2008, -4/+30Fear is UnAmerican. Welcome to the future.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 02/13/2008, -2/+26I have never followed a primary closely before, but watching Karma come back to the Clinton's is awesome. Turns out being a rampant non-chalant liar doesn't pay. If he doesn't crush her for the nomination, I will be crushed.
- rebotfc, on 02/13/2008, -4/+27Streak, unfortunately not the first *****.
- TheBogie, on 02/13/2008, -3/+24Hilliary's version is:
First you lie, then you cheat, then you steal, then you win.
Or so she thinks. - justsomendigger, on 02/13/2008, -0/+19PLEDGED DELEGATES! Superdeleates can change their mind at any time..
- thepeacemaker, on 02/13/2008, -5/+24A bit off topic but the spelling is 'Gandhi'. Kind'a strange why so many in the US spell his name this way (Ghandi).
- TheBogie, on 02/13/2008, -3/+22Clinton supporters have ignored the litany of scandals, lies, and underhanded tactics from Hilliary for the entire campaign.
Why should they start noticing these things now?
If you don't think Hilliary is a rotten human being by now, you're simply not paying attention. - rjejr, on 02/13/2008, -0/+18Anybody else think it's funny that on June 7, 2008 the people of Puerto Rico could ultimately choose the Democratic candidate? Not "ha ha" funny, more like - is Puerto Rico a state or not? funny.
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -2/+19"...then expect lots of rioting in the streets and whatnot."
LOL, right.
Just like all the "riots" that happened when GWB was RE-ELECTED in 2004. Probably the biggest "WTF" in American history. - AndrewDB, on 02/13/2008, -3/+20Wow, you're a dumb ass. Welcome to the block list.
- johnhummel, on 02/13/2008, -2/+19For Obama supporters, this is not a message to get lazy.
Keep on phone banking. Keep organizing in your areas, like Wisconsin, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, on your primary/caucus dates, get out and vote.
Just because there's light at the end of the tunnel means you stop running - or else that train behind you is going to run you over. - Pake, on 02/13/2008, -2/+19"When I am president, we will wage the war that has to be won, with a comprehensive strategy with five elements: getting out of Iraq and on to the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan; developing the capabilities and partnerships we need to take out the terrorists and the world's most deadly weapons; engaging the world to dry up support for terror and extremism; restoring our values; and securing a more resilient homeland."
Cutting up a quote to benefit your side is propaganda. - Mariachi94, on 02/13/2008, -0/+16136 delegates is insurmountable ?
- neognostic, on 02/13/2008, -2/+17streak is just another RP fanboy who can't stand the success of Obama's campaign and the demise of his own candidate. He's trolling every Obama post with the bad taste of sour grapes in his whimpering twisted mouth.
- winmywii, on 02/13/2008, -1/+15"it now appears that Senator Obama has an insurmountable lead in pledged"
I support Obama, but I don't know if you can really go that far. - ziptnf, on 02/13/2008, -3/+16Yes he has, but the difference here is that nobody actually thought he had a chance against the Clinton Machine.
- anillop, on 02/13/2008, -2/+15Get back under your bridge troll, there are adults talking here.
- arm19, on 02/13/2008, -5/+17how about... cnn.com/politics presents a much different picture of the number of delegates. accuracy anyone? PLEASE
- rolf, on 02/13/2008, -8/+20I don't think they ever ignored Obama, at least not since he announced his presidential run. He's always gotten plenty of media exposure.
- purag66, on 05/13/2009, -0/+12This is your second comment on Apple on this thread. Why?
- larrydag, on 02/13/2008, -2/+13Pledged delegates vs Super delegates.
Pledged = those delegates voted on by the people
Super = delegates that are high ranking party officials ...(editorial)... that are partisan, money grabbing, wishy washy, change with the wind, party hacks that want nothing more than to get their face on evening news - shaka999, on 02/13/2008, -0/+10Yeah, at some point Puerto Rico needs to put up or shut up :).
Either they become a state and start paying federal taxes or go it alone. - AriseNow, on 02/13/2008, -0/+10Yes, here in Puerto Rico we have to submit to federal law, yet we have no say in the people who create those laws or the President that leads the government, talk about the illusion of democracy. To make things worse, the candidates for governor are mostly Republican darlings that speak like they were trained in Reaganomics. I'll bet they'll just smear Obama among their (sheepishly) loyal followers and get them to vote Clinton. I'll vote Obama if it ever gets to that, of course, I think it's time for a LOT of things to start changing.
- luke374, on 02/13/2008, -2/+12When haven't the lolcats said it best?
- justsomendigger, on 02/13/2008, -0/+10Cnn always counts superdelegates as part of their total.
- Kautylia, on 02/13/2008, -1/+11It's hard to say. All the different news organizations are reporting different numbers. All we know is that the race is close with Obama a little ahead.
- Jay123, on 02/13/2008, -0/+9Hillary was Bill's second choice... She should be our second choice too.
- coryking, on 02/13/2008, -1/+10They are all different because the delegate count isn't a set in stone thing. All counts are estimates until the national convention.
- Daniel591992, on 02/13/2008, -5/+14Admit it. He lost.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -1/+10They just ignored him then laughed at him. No need to fight him.
- wphj, on 02/13/2008, -1/+10It'd be kind of hard to have a "HIllary leads" story when she (at the moment) is losing
- simplistics06, on 02/13/2008, -0/+8but sadly not reality
- Schmapdi, on 02/13/2008, -1/+9Yes - If Obama has a clear lead in the polls and the pledged delegates (like he does) and only loses because of all the super delegates supporting Clinton then expect lots of rioting in the streets and whatnot. The Democrats aren't stupid enough (hopefully) to try to circumvent the clear will of the electorate to prop up a weaker candidate against Mccain.
- inactive, on 02/13/2008, -1/+9Dugg for truth.
It's a shame most people still have their blinders on after the big ***** in 2004. You figure people would have learned their lesson. - brutalentropy, on 02/13/2008, -0/+8Obama's machine is like a hackintosh that tri boots Ubuntu, Windows, and OSX86. It also used to run BeOS, but the partition was reformatted for bittorrent purposes ;)
- neognostic, on 02/13/2008, -2/+10d3mag0gu3 has been on digg for 2 days and has 38 posts, all negative of Obama, looks to be a for RP fanboy who got blocked with his former username, let's do the same for him again. Goodbye Troll!
- prosayik, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7CNN has had different numbers all along. As do many other sites. Not to say they are wrong, or right. I don't know.
It is odd though they have consistently favored Clinton. I won't say its a conspiracy but I wonder how they count their numbers.
Kind of like if everyone had a different count for how many touchdowns the Giants played in the superbowl. - coryking, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7I'm saying this in a joking, light hearted manner but... how the hell will 51 stars look on our flag?
PS: I think it would be awesome if you guys signed up as the 51st state. - coryking, on 02/13/2008, -1/+8The super's are politicians though and they aren't stupid. If the Obama wind is blowing at the end, they know they'd be a fool to cast their vote against him.
That is why I pretty much dont count super delegates when I add the numbers. They add to much noise into the picture. The interesting scenario is if Hillary lobbies to get Florida and Michigan votes to mean anything. The numbers dude on MSNBC last night said they keep a separate spreadsheet with those numbers included and at this point in time, even if you factored those into the picture she is still behind. - V0lk, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7Everyone send Obama MORE money now....and drag your friends and relatives out to the polls. Make it a LANDSLIDE against Hillary!
