- Cheezo, on 07/25/2008, -11/+26the obamamessiah does not want his magnificent image tarnished and belittled by appearing in the presence of actual heroes
- exgop, on 07/25/2008, -5/+18Dude what illegal war? Best of my knowledge Congress authorized it. Also, 500 tons of uranium plus amounts of yellowcake were removed from Iraq back in June. Your hatred for America makes me puke
- BillE3, on 07/25/2008, -10/+21He "supports" the troops, but he sure does not like to be associated with them. A lot like Bill Clinton.
- fromaworld, on 07/25/2008, -10/+21Of course this won't make it to the front page, but at least 5 Huffington Post stories will....
- jnisme, on 07/25/2008, -4/+14Great source you are referring to. They are completely objective, and never lie or spin.
- UnterDenLinden, on 07/26/2008, -0/+7So he couldn't bring his staff and reporters. Why does that matter? If the only reason he's not going is because nobody will be there to document his visit, that's pretty shallow.
- inactive, on 07/25/2008, -4/+11Jesus christ is there a grave you ***** ron paul supporters (yes I checked your profile) won't piss on?
- barktwiggs, on 07/25/2008, -3/+10Wrong, the Pentagon told him to take only his senate staff. His campaign staff would have wait elsewhere.
- jnisme, on 07/25/2008, -7/+13"Barack Obama is wrong. It is never 'inappropriate' to visit our men and women in the military," FTW
- bluto36, on 07/25/2008, -1/+6um i think you did not read the article. if he would have went he would not have been allowed media therefore no photo's therefore no photo op therefore no criticism of said imaginary photo op.
this is what has some upset is that it appears he did not go because he was not able to make this into a photo op. - NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -6/+11Obama supporters will you just admit he is 100% wrong on what he just did rather than make more pathetic excuses for him. Apparently he had time to work out at a Ritz Carlton, but not enough time to visit the soldiers. Just like he is against the Iraq War, but always votes to fund it, and voted for the Patriot Act and FISA, this man is a terrible candidate and a lier.
- TheHomeOffice, on 08/08/2008, -3/+8Rotzool reported to Digg abuse team for vile commenting and attempted trolling.
- Cheezo, on 07/25/2008, -7/+12if the obamamessiah wants to be photographed with soldiers who were wounded in combat, he can have his photograph taken when he is debating mccain...
oh wait... - exgop, on 07/25/2008, -15/+19Why does this not suprise me? Military personal usually do not vote for Democraps, I wonder why. Could it be democraps contempt for people who actually think words like duty, honor and country mean something?
- psiege, on 07/25/2008, -9/+13Wow...just when I thought this man couldn't get any lower, he slaps our wounded troops in the face. Is this the defining moment of his campaign? Is this that one moment that buries a campaign 6 feet under? I can't imagine how it's not.
This makes me sick. - NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -2/+6Because a lot of Obama supporters on here REFUSE to criticize Obama when they know he is wrong on something(which is all the time), and their response to a criticism of Obama is to call you a paultard.
- smittie, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3Nope. Not every one. Just the one's where he has scheduled an appointment to visit. That out of respect not only for the soldiers there but also for the hospital staff who have taken the time to prepare for his visit.
- smittie, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3No, seriously. You're not pointing to Huffington Post as some kind of authorizative statement on thing, are you? Cuz that would be just too stupid.
- TheInformer, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3Would you be surprised if that were the reason he didn't show? Everything Obama says/does/goes/etc is carefully scripted. Karl Rove is nothing compared to Obama's playwrights. It's funny to see or listen to Obama when he's asked a question his playwrights didn't prepare him for. He stammers, says "uhh" a lot, says a lot of words but little meaning, and generally makes Bill Clinton's "what do you mean by 'is'?" look like a Master's thesis by comparison in terms of content.
- TheInformer, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3But stories/images of Obama shooting hoops or bowling make the front page on Digg, right?
- TheHomeOffice, on 08/08/2008, -2/+4his comments plus your comment supporting his filthy comment constitute trolling (ie attempting to get others to argue and fight with him which in turn promotes a harassing and uncomfortable posting environment. Thus it is my duty as a upstanding and responsible member of the DIgg community to have to turn Rotzool in, as I have already and now it is also my duty to turn you in for defending a TOS violaters breaking of the rules which you obviously have never read. So you have been reported as well libertythor.
- NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -5/+7He didn't have time to visit the troops, but he did have time to work out at a Ritz Carlton. What a great guy(rolls eyes).
- Cuchanu, on 07/25/2008, -0/+2@NorthMass
Obama was criticized for Telecom immunity to no end. But I'd agree for the most part; it's the nature of things to defend your candidate even when they don't deserve it, so I can't disagree with you. - fromaworld, on 07/29/2008, -0/+2@ dinot.
Wrong. The pentagon told Obama he could visit the wounded troops, but couldn't bring his entourage of press along. I guess when Obama found out he couldn't make a photo op out of it he decided to cancel it. - NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -4/+6"A top aide to Barack Obama said Friday the campaign canceled a scheduled visit to an American military base in Germany the day before because the Pentagon expressed concerns it would be viewed as a campaign trip."
So he didn't visit our troops because he was afraid he was going to be ***** criticized for it? WOW - smittie, on 07/27/2008, -1/+2First, he scheduled the visit.
Second, the simple out was to take only his Senatorial staff and visit the hospital in his capacity as a senator from Illinois. Pretty hard to argue with a man simply carrying out his duties as a senator. - dinot, on 07/25/2008, -6/+6If he went, you'd accuse him of using them as a cheap photo-op. If he doesn't, then he doesn't care about the troops. In your eyes, he's damned if does, damned if he doesn't. And that makes you retards look even more like biased trolls who can't tell ***** from Shinola.
You scrutinize EVERY SINGLE MOVE this man makes, and you call us Obama supporters a cult? - dinot, on 07/25/2008, -5/+5I have two cousins right now in Iraq so go ***** yourself.
It's incredibly retarded the idea that the Democrats are happy when a US soldier dies, especially since it was a Republican President who sent them there to die in the first place.
We ALL have someone we know in Iraq. We ALL have someone to lose. ***** you and your partisan *****. - NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -1/+1Great post Cuchanu, your right he did take heat for the FISA, but the thing is most of his supporters didn't really leave, they just took it and hoped he would "change" his mind. Barr is my choice, and I know his crappy past, but I have faith in the man that he has changed his way of thinking. I could take some criticism of Barr, but it's like you can't even criticize Obama here, they just digg you down and call you a paultard without any reasoning.
- NorthMass, on 07/25/2008, -4/+4I checked Rotzooi's profile out, and he does not have Ron Paul listed as a friend but he does have John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel listed as friends. Now how exactly does that make him a Ron Paul supporter onetimer? I love Kucinich and Gravel, but they are 100% the opposite of Ron Paul on economics, and Edwards is just a crappy candidate in general, yet you lump this man as a Ron Paul supporter. You fail again onetimer in your absurd attempts to smear Ron Paul and his supporters.
- SailingAlien, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0I would take Hillary over Obama any day of the week. I didn't agree with most of her stances, but at least you knew what they were - kinda. Hussein waffles about his stance in the same sentence. And similar to Nixon's "Let me make one thing perfectly clear..." comments, whenever Obama says "Let me clarify my earlier statements..." I just cringe at the coming lie.
- exgop, on 07/25/2008, -7/+6One more thing Its nice to hear your cousins are have courage, duty and honor. Go smoke some more crack and go hate America even more you Obamabot piece of *****.
- dinot, on 07/25/2008, -8/+7So, is Obama required to go to every single army hospital in every country he visits? You people were the same ones complaining yesterday that he's not even President yet so he shouldn't act Presidential.
- rigveda, on 07/25/2008, -8/+6The Military obviously dont like him...why else would he miss out on a photo op like that.....Obama is the EU candidate in the ongoing EU hostile take over the US funded by Soros inc
- exgop, on 07/25/2008, -7/+5Thank God for the second Amendment.
- dinot, on 07/25/2008, -6/+4Um, you DO know that this decision to cancel the visit was made earlier in the week after a call from the Pentagon, right?
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/25/pe ... - exgop, on 07/25/2008, -7/+5Being ex military I'm kinda sensative to what I hear Democraps say. Many democraps smile when a US soldier dies. It helps them make a political point.
- Cuchanu, on 07/25/2008, -5/+2Well then call all of your buddies and tell them to digg it. I guess most of the people on digg don't think Barack was trying to disrespect the wounded troops so that is why it wont make the front page.
- Cuchanu, on 07/25/2008, -9/+5McCain would have made Barack the bad guy if he did/didn't visit them. Not wanting it to appear as a campaign stop is respectful and if you guys don't get it that's fine. If I was Obama I would have visited and told McCain to ***** Off if he started critisizing. ***** if McCain thinks it's OK to criticize Obama for visiting the Holocaust Memorial you know he'd do it for "using the troops."
- Rotzooi, on 07/25/2008, -6/+2Jeez, I was just saving you Rightards some time by making your kind of comments for you. Free of charge.
This politico.com article was obviously a troll article. Hence, a trollish reply. - peticsu, on 07/26/2008, -10/+5buried as inaccurate.
heres the real story: http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0708/ ...
"Chief Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell confirmed to Politico that Department of Defense officials cautioned Barack Obama's campaign that his planned visit to wounded American troops in Germany could not be political in nature and that he would be barred from bringing along campaign staff and reporters. He also said that Cindy McCain recently requested to visit sailors aboard the U.S.N.S. Comfort and was denied." - NoDrama, on 07/25/2008, -20/+14The problem is, it's not true. The Pentagon asked the campaign to change their itinerary. Sorry, you can't blame Obama and his staff for this last minute switch, guys. They had it planned. Read 'em and weep: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/24/obama-can ...
- Rotzooi, on 07/25/2008, -33/+2Good thing, too. Had he visited them, he would have pulled down his pants and urinated on their maimed stumps and into their bloodied eye sockets. That's what all Democrat libtards would do, that's how much they hate our troops. Unlike our amazing leaders who sent them into an illegal war to get hacked to pieces so mega corporations can get no-bid contracts worth billions.
