- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -15/+76It's great that he continued hes trip after McCain leaked classified info on his arrival this weekend!!!
- projectstartrek, on 07/19/2008, -20/+61It's kinda strange how much more media attention everyone is giving Obama compared to McCain. I don't really like McCain, but when he tours the world, there's a lot less media exposure.
- marabout40, on 07/19/2008, -18/+56McCain did not invite reporters to accompany him on his trip. Also, no one abroad is interested in John McCain. They are, however, mad about Obama.
- crazymaster16, on 07/19/2008, -18/+43This is great finally we are going to get a real leader in these war areas to figure out what the hell is going on and get this war resloved. We do not want 4 more years of Bush tactics!
- motivatedmama, on 07/19/2008, -12/+36This was hashed out on NPR and yes it is unheard of but not unwarranted. Obama is still seen as a blank slate by many. The media are hoping to fill in the blanks for the public. There are other reasons of course but all harmless.
And isn't McCain the same Teflon John who's gaffes and lies only receive serious notice on the web?
One wrong move and Obama could be really damaged during this trip. I don't see the media letting anything slide the way they have with McCain.
Somehow I think Obama's to smart too blunder though ; ) The whole world loves him, I for one am curious to see how this all plays out. - mrsteveman1, on 07/20/2008, -3/+22Like the bush admin did with the taliban before 9/11?
- ath1337, on 07/19/2008, -10/+28I think it's because this is Obama's first trip to Afghanistan...
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -15/+31McCain and the media are just mad that Obama is so squeaky clean and has noooo bad background to attack him with,.....so they pick at any little thing and try to make it look bad.....skin color, race, religion, fist pound, trips?!?!?!
- aksn1p3r, on 07/19/2008, -9/+24Obama Barack
Osama Bin Laden
Om Nom Nom - poidh, on 07/20/2008, -10/+25It's because the media really, really want Obama to win.
- AmyVernon, on 07/19/2008, -8/+22that's true. firsts of anything tend to get more attention
- motivatedmama, on 07/19/2008, -11/+25You have got to be kidding.
- crowbar77, on 07/20/2008, -6/+19Really? How about FISA and the patriot act? Or the fact that he disowned his own minister because of pressure from the media. I don't like McCain either, but don't try to pretend Obama is the next messiah.
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -15/+28What foreign policies will an Obama administration change? Will American troops still occupy nations around the world? Yes. Will the American military still threaten other nations? Yes. Will the Pentagon still be funded at totally insane levels? Yes.
So ... what's the difference? - aksn1p3r, on 07/19/2008, -4/+16yea, lets hope for the best!
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -9/+21This is for publicity ..... He is doing so for showing the world that he will maintain the peace...
- lordtyros, on 07/20/2008, -15/+27@ winnestow
That's better than sending more of our tax money to destroy other countries - inactive, on 07/20/2008, -4/+16uh oh how dare you go against the digg hivemind
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -11/+22Yeah, how is he not facing any penalties from that? Why do we even bother classifying things anymore???
- smittie, on 07/20/2008, -0/+11Yeah, like, on this trip, right. By the time Obama gets back to the states, peace will have broken out in the Middle East and Europe. Just by the mere presence.
- auricomnet, on 07/20/2008, -1/+11Anyone else notice the Army cutie in the pic? Where were those girls when I was in the Marines?
- aksn1p3r, on 07/19/2008, -5/+15Now, will this calm any unrest or will it make it worse?
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -9/+19I'm hoping you are being sarcastic, but it wouldn't surprise me if you aren't. You pretty much summed up the average obamanite. It's physically sickening to anybody with an IQ high enough to tie their own shoes.
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -10/+20wtf is wrong with you? Down with the constitution! Up with un-winnable foreign wars!
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -19/+29He landed about 1515 local and was gone by 1800. 2 hours 45 minutes.
- angryfirelord, on 07/20/2008, -1/+11felman87, there's more than just the income tax on your paycheck. How about capitals gains? How about the death tax? How about the SS tax? He's a democrat, of course he's going to raise taxes to the moon and wreck our economy with his central planning of everything.
- Staticbursts, on 07/20/2008, -2/+11Will everyone please shut up about that HuffPo story about McCain "leaking" information about Obama's trip (information that everybody already knew)? My god...it's no wonder what our country's come to when everyone believes what they hear on the internet.
- PabloMac, on 07/20/2008, -2/+11Please provide proof of Obama being a "real leader."
- sanman, on 07/20/2008, -1/+10Kanye, is that you?
- angryfirelord, on 07/20/2008, -6/+14Yes, because spying on people without a warrant has always been in the constitution.
Constitutional scholar doesn't mean anything if you've sold out to the Democratic party. Obama is no different. - AzzidReign, on 07/19/2008, -3/+11That's a silly insult. I'm sure McCain knows how to work the google on the internet machine.
- radiofrequency, on 07/20/2008, -13/+21The difference is you'll pay higher taxes under an Obama administration.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -4/+12ROFL !!!!!
- A2007HokieAlumn, on 07/20/2008, -5/+12Since Obama voted for domestic surveillance, I could care less what he is doing. I'm voting third party.
- Cretius0, on 07/20/2008, -8/+15BARACKNAPHOBIA
- radiofrequency, on 07/20/2008, -2/+9@V3NOM
No matter what you think of the current administration, it's not doing anything that justifies raising my taxes. Obama and his socialized plans can go ***** themselves. Government services suck: I can do without or I'll save for the services on my own. - insomniac8400, on 07/20/2008, -7/+14The only things that stay classified these days are Bush and Co's crimes.
- ADVIZR, on 07/20/2008, -1/+8If you don't nearly get blown up, you're of someone else's religion? The fear-mongering and idiocy of neocons never ceases to impress me.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -8/+14Yet he voted for FISA.
Hmmmmmm...
So hes a constitutional scholar that (with very good knowledge of the constitution) made sure to vote for fisa.
You're a dumbass and always a dumbass.
Why?
Because actions speaks louder than teleprompters. - bjornski, on 07/20/2008, -2/+8You really are a moron.
- AzzidReign, on 07/19/2008, -6/+12I have a fever, and the prescription calls for more Obama.
- inactive, on 07/20/2008, -6/+12what exactly has he ever lead?
- insomniac8400, on 07/20/2008, -4/+10He isn't a republican, he is a neocon. Real republicans are tired of this *****.
- bikini, on 07/20/2008, -4/+9i'm deployed to afghanistan and i met him when he got off the plane. shook his hand and he asked me if i was a steelers fan when i told him i was from pittsburgh.
best day evar. - inactive, on 07/20/2008, -1/+6There's nothing unconstitutional about FISA. Ex post facto only pertains to criminal, not civil laws.
- Sil369, on 07/20/2008, -5/+10go away
- legolas68, on 07/20/2008, -0/+5After such great success with the democrats in power in the house and senate I suppose you are giddy about getting a democrat in the white house, too.
- felman87, on 07/20/2008, -9/+14Assuming you make over 250K
- MrWhite7, on 07/20/2008, -1/+6I disagree with what you say but you'll fight to the death for your right to say it.
Doesn't make you any less of a dumbass though. - rearlgrant, on 07/20/2008, -1/+626thUSMC - a retired individual right, you're not using your USMC unit ID as representative of your entire unit's views are you?
