- doiveo, on 11/14/2008, -3/+45Tremendous. People really need to hear from the leaders right now.
- StigNordas, on 11/14/2008, -3/+34I'm just thrilled he's using the web without a luddite attitude.
- eSentrik, on 11/14/2008, -2/+31Its great to see the new administration using the power of the Internet as a great medium to reach people.
- crackrockutah, on 11/14/2008, -0/+27I absolutely can not wait to read the comments.
- Modulo, on 11/14/2008, -0/+22I'm just thrilled that you've overshadowed whatever the ***** your point was by spelling "knew" wrong. Don't be too quick putting that dictionary back on the shelf there, Chief.
- kismetropolis, on 11/14/2008, -0/+19He is making himself available to the American people using every tool at his command.
And the American people have an unprecedented opportunity to make themselves heard by him.
Go Go Gadget President! - griffix0, on 11/14/2008, -0/+14Is it really propaganda when a leader of a country communicates with its citizens?
- redcolumbine, on 11/14/2008, -0/+14Perfect! So Obama won't be preempting your wrestling match.
- Surferess, on 11/14/2008, -6/+18He is so Innovative and originative. - Yes that really is a word, I just found it on the thesaurus.com under inventive. Although, I have to admit the digg spell checker is underlining it in red. But, hey, the digg spell checker underlines digg also, so there you go!
- riverrunner, on 11/15/2008, -1/+13Will he be smoking a pipe by the fire? Its all I ask.
- BelatedHero, on 11/14/2008, -0/+12ROFL @ modulo. Epic burn.
- mecharabbit, on 11/14/2008, -0/+12It's a lot better than the last 8 years of "the less the people know, the better".
- InuX, on 11/15/2008, -3/+14I can see it now, the most cheesiest thing since cheez wiz.
*Daughter runs in chasing dog*
*Hearty laugh from Obama who is sitting on an armchair next to a fireplace wearing a red robe*
*Look at the camera*
Hi, I'm President Barack Obama. - ohnoerino, on 11/14/2008, -4/+15That's fantastic!
- arnmsctt, on 11/14/2008, -0/+10Well, try to convince that guy holding the gun to your head that you shouldn't be forced to watch specific videos on YouTube.
- ViSioN, on 11/14/2008, -0/+10Why would people digg you down? Do people disagree that it's good to use the Internet?
- arnmsctt, on 11/14/2008, -0/+9I look forward to hearing what he has to say regarding the major issues on a regular basis. Hopefully he uses this as a medium to continue motivating and encouraging people to work towards creating a better nation and world.
We have to remember that nobody can do it all themselves. We need to do our part as well. - Eiknujrac, on 11/14/2008, -1/+10God forbid a president actually talk to the citizens!
Real presidents cower in the white house and issue press releases. - mklopez, on 11/14/2008, -5/+13I wonder how long until he really joins the youtube community by posting a video of his new dog dry humping the leg of the secretary of state
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+8Dumb people like you pose more of a danger to the United States than any number of plans flying into buildings.
- spookyttws, on 11/15/2008, -0/+7As stated, I don't care how much spin is involved because it wold be impossible for this administration to be any less transparent than our current.
- ComeOutSwingin, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6Comments will probably be disabled or monitored.
- spaceman84, on 11/15/2008, -0/+7If it's at all like those Old Spice commercials with Bruce Campbell, it will be awesome.
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6It would be lulz seeing all the McCain supporters scream out racial slurs to the president.
- SpectralSounds, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6Luddite was a pretty appropriate word to use in his statement. It seems like you have tried to jump the gun on the high calibre, Youtubesque posts we can surely expect attached to these videos.
- benologist, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6The actual source:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/11 ...
And can we please not encourage Gizmodo to branch out into summarising other categories of news? They already feed us plenty of second and third hand summaries. - weloveronpaul, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6I hope he allows comments on those vids.
- sadsadrobot, on 11/15/2008, -1/+6I'm looking forward to reading the comments on his videos.
- macfan93, on 11/15/2008, -0/+5If he sits in front of a fire i'm sold
- Kakumeikeahi, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4With everything they did that is worth being ashamed over, can you really blame him?
Not that I'm trying to defend his silence, I think he was wrong. - mmittimm, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4Funny how people can still find ways to criticize him for this. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.
- ncavet, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4He's so hip.
- GhostyBoy, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4I think you might be retarded, but let's just give it a quick test here:
For every digg I get, you're an idiot. - Santiak, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4I supported Obama during the last campaign.
However, I think that his government will be mildly disappointing for those who are expecting deep and substantial changes. Remember that he supported the bailout of the financial system, one of the most outrageous rip-offs of the nation's wealth that will affect not only to us but also to the future of our children. Few days ago he also supported the bailout of the car industry. Yeah... spreading the wealth... of honest taxpayers to large corporations who give a ***** about their workers. Do you think that I am being too cynical? Just wait and see. - barfooz, on 11/15/2008, -1/+5Godwinned. Nothing more to see here, folks.
- stevenr21, on 11/15/2008, -0/+4it has to be incredibly difficult to be that ***** stupid.
- Insomnya3AM, on 11/15/2008, -3/+7Nope, Menthols.
- oblique63, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3hypocrites...
- Luigison, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3While this is fantastic news, why did the matt buchanan post an image to make it look like an actual YouTube video? Arrgh.
- ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/15/2008, -0/+3Wow, Obama posting videos on Youtube... I shudder to think what kind of inane ***** will get posted in the comments section. As if the comments in political Digg submissions aren't bad enough.
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2Youtube videos w/ President =/= transparency
Don't give him too much credit for this. The only other president that had access to this technology, and the ability to broadcast it to a large majority of Americans was George W.Bush, and we know what a trainwreck that dope is. - ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2If there's an axe or a chain saw leaning innocently against the wall I might have an accident.
- built2spill, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2This is cool, although a podcast might sound a little more dignified (also available on YouTube).
- pintomp3, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2yeah, video cameras cost $700 billion.
- vinceislegend, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2This man is a class act. Say what you will about him as a politician, but it's hard to deny him his character.
- ThsGuyRightHere, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2When they accused Obama of travelling to Hawaii to forge his birth certificate when he was visiting his dying grandmother, they actually punched through the bottom of the barrel and started grabbing handfuls of the muck that was sitting underneath it. God damn oxygen thieves.
Now they're just wallowing in the muck they found under the barrel... which I guess would make them muck dwellers. - inactive, on 11/15/2008, -1/+3LOL FAG
- martalli, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2He's trying to quit the smokes.
- Sil369, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2Get a grip.
- oblique63, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2well, youtube is still part of that whole 'elitist/gotcha media' thing...
