Obama "Tax Cut" 'Refunds' Those Who Don't Pay Taxes!
washingtontimes.com — Barack Obama says he will give 95 percent of all American workers a tax cut but does not mention that his plan would send checks to tens of millions of tax filers who pay no personal income taxes - payments that critics say look "suspiciously like welfare." Gee, ya think?

- basicben, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Barack Obama and his Socialist Agenda is being exposed more and more every day. Before you know it, we'll have overcome the earnest efforts of the mainstream media to hide this information from the general population. Now won't they feel conflicted on Nov. 5th, 2008 when all the wailing and gnashing of teeth begins all over again.
It almost makes me feel sorry for the pathetic anti-American socialists supporting the waste of carbon from Illinois.
Well, I said almost... - novaculus, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5FTA:
"Because the IRS says that nearly 46 million tax filers - one-third of all filers - had no tax liability in 2006, there is the question of how millions of Americans can receive an income "tax cut" when they pay no taxes.
"It's got to raise alarm bells when you claim you are going to cut taxes for 95 percent of working families when more than 40 percent of them pay no income taxes," said Phil Kerpen, policy director at Americans for Prosperity, a grass-roots free-market advocacy group.
"What he's really talking about doing is mailing a check, and to me, that looks more like a welfare program than the kind of real tax relief that would encourage work, savings and investments," Mr. Kerpen said. "
People who file tax returns but wind up not owing or paying any taxes understand perfectly well: Obama is promising to send them a check after he takes the money from the "rich" people who do pay taxes. Obama is trying to buy votes, plain and simple.
His plan goes beyond welfare. This plan is welfare on steroids. The destructive side effects are predictable, but the MSM simply will not admit they are likely, let alone what they might be. - muzedude, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3Hey wait a minute. Isn't that my tax money they pull out of my paycheck every two weeks that they want to give away to people that don't work? I don't feel so good!

- woodrow8292, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Again I am sure this will get almost no coverage in the national media. It's really sad that most people who will vote in this election will not do their research and just vote along party lines or vote for Obama because it's the cool thing to do or because they want "change". To bad many of them have no idea what that "change" is, sounds a lot like redistribution of wealth to me. But the media will spin this and make it look like some grand and fabulous plan that will benefit us all. No one will ask where all this money will come from not only for this but also all of his other plans.
- biblthmp, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1I just saw an Obama ad, which claims that McCain will not give a tax break to 100 million people in the US. would those be the people that are already paying no taxes?
