- TheWorm, on 06/30/2008, -16/+148Ehhh, that sounds a little cult-ish
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -44/+132Better Barack Hussein than John McCain.
- baldr, on 06/30/2008, -8/+85Does anyone actually know a single person on facebook that added Hussein as a middle name. It isn't a bad idea, but I feel like the NY Times is overhyping the amount of "growing band of supporters" doing this.
- Sfenton, on 06/30/2008, -8/+83Good luck getting past airport security with that name.
- Makasuro, on 06/30/2008, -9/+71Am I the only one that thinks that this is utterly retarded?
- toetagger, on 06/30/2008, -5/+62BTW.. it is extremely insulting to Muslims for Americans to act like if Obama was a Muslim that would be a bad thing. It isn't enough to say he's not a Muslim - we should be saying, "So, what if he was? Are you a religious bigot?" Toe Hussein Tagger.
- jarjarwang, on 06/30/2008, -1/+49I legally changed my middle name a few years ago to 'Freedom Fries' and I sorta regret it...
- nblsavage, on 06/30/2008, -4/+49You're not born any religion you *****.
- christopheles, on 06/30/2008, -3/+45What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+43Wow; the first line... "Emily Nordling has never met a Muslim, at least not to her knowledge."
Are Muslims really that bad? The lepers of society, apparently. - BossKey, on 06/30/2008, -0/+37Wait...Shaquille O'Neal isn't Irish ?!?!
- ileftfark, on 06/30/2008, -5/+42Wow, what commitment to a cause! Changing your name on Facebook? That takes balls. Signing slips or your emails with a name other than your given name on your birth certificate? I don't think that's been done before!
I heard some of them had tattooed "Obama '08" on their arms - in Magic Marker! God bless you, soldiers of Hope and Change. - aptanalogy, on 06/30/2008, -5/+42It rhymes; therefore, it must be true!
- fleischner, on 06/30/2008, -10/+46If you look closely at their personal pages, under "favorite drink" they all say "Kool-Aid."
- curseoflou, on 06/30/2008, -1/+34Hussein in tha membrane...
- proliance, on 06/30/2008, -12/+43Someone else might as well take it, he's not using it.
- coffeebaby, on 06/29/2008, -3/+34the aluminum foil is in aisle six.
- brandizzle, on 06/30/2008, -0/+29No, but I know a few who name themselves after their favorite beer...
Seriously, why is what people do on Facebook news?
I messaged someone today. Front page yet? - truthhurts28, on 06/30/2008, -1/+26do you mean "Jesus, people" or Jesus people. Because trust me, Jesus people are thinking quite the opposite.
- RealmDown, on 06/30/2008, -0/+24I thought he was born human.
- kolop1, on 06/30/2008, -12/+35Obama is not going to change anything. Stop kidding yourselves. They all work for the same corporate interests.
- Hetman, on 06/30/2008, -8/+30This is not necessary. I highly doubt this is going to affect how someone votes.
- Divals, on 06/30/2008, -2/+24lol wut?
Are you one of those crazies who think he's a fundamentalist muslim? Wake up and smell the hummus, dood. - krnldmp, on 06/30/2008, -4/+26Oh Jesus Christ its getting to the point where people are scamming themselves.
- mykinco, on 06/30/2008, -2/+24True, while I don't know very many Muslims in Colorado the few I do know are very nice people. I don't judge people off their religious background but off their level of dickheadness eRenee. If he was born Muslim it doesn't mean a thing, I know plenty of Christians who are still *****.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -3/+24No. Would you assume somebody with the last name "Johnson" was a Christian? Of course not, because thats retarded.
- badfish0116, on 06/30/2008, -16/+37Wow...What a pack of idiots
- aptanalogy, on 06/30/2008, -1/+22Actually, he was born an atheist.
- Detritus, on 06/30/2008, -9/+30Obama supporters now officially creepier than Ron Paul zealots.
Change: While doing the same crap and voting along with rest of the fascists on the FISA *****. - davidg11, on 06/30/2008, -6/+26Am I the only one that is thinking Obamaites are getting more loony as the days pass?
"Let's change our names!"
"OK!, GREAT IDEA!" - felman87, on 06/30/2008, -2/+21I just just imagine you popping a blood vessel as you say HUSSEIN
- RealmDown, on 06/30/2008, -0/+18or Ronald McDonald ?
- btschul, on 06/30/2008, -23/+42Cult, anyone? Jesus people treat Obama like some sort of ***** savior.
- dagnabbit, on 06/30/2008, -0/+17Brains. BRAAAAINNSS!
- mCanada, on 06/30/2008, -1/+18Actually a Canadian professor was stopped at the US/CAN border, when a border guard googled his name and found one of his old papers. The paper was online and had described how he had tried LSD in the 60's, he was classified as a drug user and barred entry to the USA. His daughter lives in the states and short of a special visa he has no way of going to visit her. I forget the link (it's at my uni account), but it illustrates how careful you need to be in times like these and with governments like these. I think he was either from UBC or UVic , maybe someone else has the url.
- mmkhajah, on 06/30/2008, -7/+23Good for them. Something that many doesn't know about the man behind this name, is that he was the grandson of Mohammad and he sacrificed his life and family in order to liberate the people's minds from oppression. This is what the Mahatma Gandhi said of him:
"I learnt from Hussein how to achieve victory while being oppressed." - nbx909, on 06/30/2008, -0/+15Secret Muslims are all around us. :P
- noahhoward, on 06/30/2008, -2/+17Why does someone born in Hawaii to an american need to prove their citizenship???
- choppasizzle, on 06/30/2008, -6/+21obamazoids
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -16/+30And then they'll promptly change their middle name back when they realize he won't bring about any more "change" than any other corporate candidate.
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -2/+16"His name is Robert Paulson. His name is Robert Paulson."
- toetagger, on 06/30/2008, -12/+26The Bushies have their "W"...
- inactive, on 06/30/2008, -5/+19And why does anybody care if religious people are insulted?
- jkr801, on 06/30/2008, -3/+17oh so change meant you have to change your middle name nothing else...
- MattB123, on 06/30/2008, -1/+15It's always easy to assume. But that usually doesn't make it more accurate.
Would you assume I'm Christian since my name is Matthew? - mlrigsby, on 06/30/2008, -1/+15You're right, of course toetagger, but this is what conservatives do. Rather than make legitimate arguments, they set up false choices and use nonsensical rhetoric to attack their opponents. The Swift Boat thing is a great example. Kerry, a legitimate war veteran and possibly hero, had his war record become a liability against a man who sat out from the war, because of the endless stream of nonsense and lies from the other side.
This is a similar case. Barrack Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. When the right attacks him as a Muslim, we are put in the position of having to simultaneously fend off two attacks: first that Obama is not a Muslim, second that being a Muslim is not a bad thing. It's a brilliant political tactic for a movement that has long since run out of good ideas of its own. - inactive, on 06/30/2008, -8/+21HES A MUSSLEM!!!111!!!!
Like that? - staticneuron, on 06/30/2008, -0/+13Jarjar "Freedom Fries" Wang, Your name will go down in history as the worst name ever. Do not feel bad, you'll be famous.
