- ThatsNotPudding, on 01/07/2009, -93/+847Yeah, here's that "Change" we were all hoping for.
/same as the old boss. - ffhc2000, on 01/07/2009, -96/+649Let's see, major decisions by Obama since he won:
- Appoint Reagan Republicans, Clinton cronies, Sanjay f'ing Gupta, and RIAA puppets to key posts
- Stay absolutely silent on Gaza
- Stand behind Rick Warren for the inaugural
I'm starting to see who Obama really is. - deepleet, on 01/07/2009, -19/+528***** THE RIAA!
- RoyHobbs, on 01/07/2009, -20/+472that really sucks
- BAMAToNE, on 01/07/2009, -30/+471Washington is still Washington, no matter who lives there.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -201/+584Of course this won't make the front page, anything negative about the almighty Obama is an attack against diggers.
- 16x9, on 01/07/2009, -29/+288Respectfully, I disagree. I voted for Obama. I think he's going to be a great president (not that the bar has been set very high of late). However, I detest the RIAA and their tactics. I'm not at all happy about this appointment and I have no problem saying so.
- smacksaw, on 01/07/2009, -29/+246Just two points. One, lawyers are whores. Obama has a different agenda than these people. If they were not going to play ball, he would not have selected them. They are not there to tell him what to do. Nor will they.
Examine the logic. It's like saying that Obama keeping Robert Gates means he is for the Iraq war. Robert Gates is a person he is using to do a job, not guide his agenda or conscience. Sometimes there are people you don't maybe like, but have a good resume. If I had hired the people I liked as opposed to the ones who were most qualified, I would have gone down in flames.
The second thing is that the Democrats still have a lot of really crappy people hanging around. My thought was to purge a lot of them. But maybe Obama can bring them around. That might be bigger than even the economy. I don't know. The reality is that there's a lot of Democrats (and Republicans) that need to go and never be heard from again. Perhaps Obama is really ambitious. But if he can take these scoundrels and get them to work?
My gut is to isolate and force these people out. But I guess he needs allies. I don't know if you can control that many people ...look at the job he's doing with Rod Slagsonofabitch. Not very good. I'd feel more comfortable if he had some influence on them. I think he's failed that test, which worries me about people like this. - poprocksandsoda, on 01/07/2009, -35/+249Tried to tell you, but no one would listen.
- Koush, on 01/07/2009, -26/+214He's a lawyer....He gets paid to defend or attack your best interests regardless of the cause.
If the RIAA loves him it probably just means he's damn good at his job (No matter if we define it as good or evil).
So if he's actually properly qualifed and talented, welcome aboard. - spritom, on 01/07/2009, -11/+192FTA:
"Perrelli is currently a partner in the Washington offices of Jenner and Block, where he represented the RIAA in a a slew of cases, including a high-profile bid to unmask file sharers without the requirement of a judge reviewing the evidence first." - chumprock, on 01/07/2009, -20/+161The names have changed, but the characters are all the same.
- Cyberdactyl, on 01/07/2009, -12/+151They were too busy masturbating to every Obama speech.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -55/+184Worst. Transition. Ever.
- exspasticcomics, on 01/07/2009, -38/+156Yup, yup.. gotta love it. Glad I voted 3rd party. But- hey! don't forget- there's more of us out there than them.. & they can't win if we don't let them.
- shadowspawn, on 01/07/2009, -19/+132Now I ain't sayin' he's a gold digger...
- youareretarded, on 01/07/2009, -34/+144Fantastic!!!
/sarcasm - ordig, on 01/07/2009, -207/+311***** Obama!
- cadmiumpaint, on 01/07/2009, -15/+1162 things to play devils advocate.
Lawyers are mercenaries. Just because he works for the RIAA doesn't mean he believe in the mission. As long as the checks clear and are on time, lawyers don't tend to care about who they defend (get over it, we're not talking about murder or rape here....we're talking about file sharing)
From the POV of anyone over 35, the lawyer was doing a good job trying to help legitimate American businesses battle the rampant spread of people who take their product without paying for it. Thats called being pro business. - justjoehere, on 01/07/2009, -15/+113It is change, too bad it is as useless as the 17 cents I have in my pocket.
- Zippo, on 01/07/2009, -3/+99***** the RIAA... they lost the war anyways. They've stopped the lawsuits and DRM is starting to crumble.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/07/2009, -7/+95Good - maybe a few more will as well. Then you can tell two friends, and they can tell two friends, and so on
- reaper527, on 01/07/2009, -4/+89"Of course this won't make the front page, "
it did, and i'll tell you how.

submitted power user msaleem - billraydrums, on 01/07/2009, -5/+90There's progress...Let's hire a guy that files lawsuits against minors and their parents.
- TheUngod, on 01/07/2009, -22/+102I hate to bring him up, but Ron Paul would have still done better. But did anyone listen?
- FreddieD, on 01/07/2009, -15/+95Oh my god I've made a terrible mistake! I voted for Obama, and now he appointed an RIAA lawyer to his cabinet. What have I done?! McCain/Palin appears to have been such a better choice now! Who cares that he admitted he didn't know anything about economics and gave not one single hint at knowing how to fix things? At least we wouldn't have had an RIAA lawyer as one of the justices!
See you guys later, I'm going to go drain my veins in the bathtub over this one.. - mrfred8, on 01/07/2009, -23/+101Just more pay to play. Thats what democrats do. Hollywood gave the messiah tons of money, now they expect to be paid back.
- A2TrueBlue, on 01/07/2009, -4/+79Thank you for bringing up the point. Just because a LAW FIRM has been HIRED to take a case does not mean they necessarily support it. That's the point of the legal system, it's their job to argue the point. Do you also have a problem with legal defenders because they represent child abusers? Your problem shouldn't be with the lawyers that argue these cases, your problem should be with the judges that side with the RIAA.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/07/2009, -40/+112So many people still refuse to see, what people have been saying since Clinton dropped out - he isn't what he says he is. However the words change and hope were too powerful to break the people from their haze, and so they voted for the other side of the coin.
When they do get it, to make themselves feel better I am sure they will say "Everyone fell for it" completely ignoring the fact that people had warned them. Just like everyone thought Iraq had WMD's and other such history revisionism. The two sides use the same tricks and why wouldn't they, they are effectively the same party. - Shogi, on 01/07/2009, -16/+87Oh hell.
- JedicodeWarrior, on 01/07/2009, -13/+77I feel warm all over -- torrent users, get ready for the onslaught!
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -21/+82Change you can believe in.
- manjas8, on 01/07/2009, -8/+65Some day soon everyone will see he's just another politician.
- korvan504521, on 01/07/2009, -2/+57people don't like thinking.
- akchrs, on 01/07/2009, -58/+113HAHA!!! Once again liberals get owned by Obama!!
- ironhide, on 01/07/2009, -6/+61You know, with all that is going to be on his plate, I don't think Obama is worried about ticking off some filesharers.
- stackolee, on 01/07/2009, -5/+59What's the shock? Big media has owned a controlling interest in Joe Biden for years.
- nihilville, on 01/07/2009, -3/+56I know exactly how you feel 16x9...
I never expected him to agree with me on every single position, but for a candidate that was pretty much made by internet savvy and netroots support, this really feels like a short sighted slap in the face. - alexj306, on 01/07/2009, -1/+54***** THE RIAA!!!!
- timedalkat, on 01/07/2009, -21/+73FFFFffffUUUuuuuuuuuccCCCCCKKKKKKKkkkk!
- twinklyJesus, on 01/07/2009, -12/+62"Change"
So he enlisted:
Joe Biden, old school democrat
Hillary Clinton, old school Democrat
If you REALLY are looking for change, you don't put the same old tired faces into jobs as soon as you get in office. I am going to enjoy watching all the Obamanites get what's coming. His "change" started evaporating the day after he won....
*smiles* - poprocksandsoda, on 01/07/2009, -43/+93This just keeps getting better ... and he's not even officially President yet! This is the legend, the God-on-Earth, the "One"! Mr. Cool and Edgey poster and T-Shirt guy ... Mr. coin set on QVC guy! Mr. Limited Edition Plate set!!! He keeps showing you that you elected a man with zero experience, zero honesty and zero intention of keeping promises he made to get elected. God I love this. Hollywood Barack is going to give me 4 years of entertainment as the Left wonders why they believed in their false God.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/07/2009, -3/+51It's change baby!
- hamobu, on 01/07/2009, -2/+50...but he aint messing with no broke....americans
- sbfreak2000, on 01/07/2009, -3/+50Diggers hate for the RIAA trumps their love affair with Obama
- WilliamDavis, on 01/07/2009, -0/+47Not sure, but I wouldn't appoint that guy as my maid, since he has no problems violating privacy willy nilly.
- radu79, on 01/07/2009, -4/+48This is only the beginning. I was never an Obama fan, but I thought that well, he is a good guy and I wouldn't mind if he becomes president. But then he voted for the amnesty for the spying telecoms, and then later on for the bailout, I started to realize that he is not at all who he said he is.
BTW, he is not a friend of the video gamers either. I am curious to see what legislation he will pass in this field. - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -30/+74This is one of those "I told you so" moments.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/07/2009, -2/+45People who have loved and enjoyed the freedom of the net - get ready for the darkness again.
- WraTH017, on 01/07/2009, -36/+78It made it to the front page. Stop whining.
