Joe Biden is a good guy, he tells it like it is! - Suilenroc, on 08/23/2008, -65/+355Perfect, Biden Perfectly balances out the ticket. He has foreign policy experience, is good at attacking, is experienced. He's a Yin to Obama's Yang.
- Wilarseny, on 08/23/2008, -21/+257I'll never forget the Giuliani slam.. brilliant
for those of you who missed it
speaking about RG: "There's only three things he mentions in a sentence: a noun, and a verb and 9/11."
I can't wait to hear him repeat it with POW inserted instead.. - UNDERSTAR, on 08/23/2008, -128/+336I BELIEVE IN OBAMA/BIDEN 08
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -35/+237Only thing I don't like about Biden is that he's a drug war nutjob.
No medical marijuana. Supports the drug war. Even the International drug war. Aside from that, good choice. - rkettner, on 08/23/2008, -49/+239The best choice he could have made IMO. Biden isn't afraid to say exactly what is on his mind, and I think that is what Obama needs.
- leonidas22, on 08/23/2008, -37/+165I am pretty excited. I always wanted Biden as his VP. Biden is a damn PIT BULL. This guy is gonna eat McCain alive!
- cg4et, on 08/23/2008, -25/+152Can't wait to see that Biden-Romney debate. This is going to be fun.
- meuse, on 08/23/2008, -30/+156Ron Paul
- OgonGuitarist, on 08/23/2008, -43/+158Attack dog, experienced, and a foreign policy expert. A wise choice.
- palimend, on 08/23/2008, -42/+139Where's my ***** text, Obama? The whole point of that was to beat the press to it.
Anyway, Biden's a great choice. He's strong in Obama's weak areas and balances him out nicely. - inactive, on 08/23/2008, -14/+104He's biden his time.
- gangsterunicorn, on 08/23/2008, -12/+94what politician isnt a drug war nutjob
- richlizard24, on 08/23/2008, -4/+79Did anyone actually think that they would find out before the press did?
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -62/+135Obama will win.
- griffin7287, on 08/23/2008, -46/+117Great pick! This adds a ton of credence to his candidacy. I'm listening to CNN right now and even Republicans say that Biden is a good pick. I can't wait to see him tear into McCain and his VP like he should. Obama/Biden '08!
- daRoach, on 08/23/2008, -15/+83Really? Because Harvey Dent sounds a little two faced to me...
- charm803, on 08/23/2008, -6/+66On top of that, it was what Obama wanted. He said he wants someone that will challenge his positions, not just say "yes" to everything he says.
- cg4et, on 08/23/2008, -3/+61The larger point was getting all those cell phone numbers to use for GOTV efforts in November.
Mission Accomplished. - geddon, on 08/23/2008, -2/+59Dennis Kucinich
Mike Gravel
Bernie Sanders - richbleak, on 08/23/2008, -13/+67brstilson: That was taken out of context. He was referring to presidential candidates. It was more of a knock against Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Yeah, that was definitely a gaffe, but let's be serious here. Who could possibly be turned off based on this statement? African Americans? Do you really think they are going to turn away from Obama because of a statement that even at the time Obama dismissed publicly as unimportant. Obama vouched for Biden's credentials on the topic of race even while they were still rivals in the primaries. That effectively killed the gaffe.
- Steyr47, on 08/23/2008, -25/+74DELAWARE!!
- Xihix, on 08/23/2008, -31/+77Biden? The guy who strongly supports Israel? War on drugs guy? For ***** sake, this election gets worse and worse by the day. America is *****. I know I'll be dugg down by the stupid Obama dick suckers, but I feel my opinion belongs here.
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -6/+47INTERNATIONAL drug war.
That means he supports getting involved in any country that is a source of drugs in America.
He is Chairman of the International Narcotics Control Caucus.

- lyshia, on 08/23/2008, -7/+47Lol. Clinton is pro-choice too...
- russizm, on 08/23/2008, -4/+42It will be very strange having a Delawarian in the public eye for the next 8 years,
I for one welcome our new Delawarian overlord. - NateTheApe21, on 08/23/2008, -19/+56Biden...you can toss out the change slogan
- eltrev, on 08/23/2008, -14/+50Joe Biden might be the only politician on the Democrat side that "I'm kind of fan of". He's a great debater, has character and experience to burn, and he has a healthy aggressive side.
The VP debates will be much more interesting this time around. - inactive, on 08/23/2008, -10/+46Uhoh, he lost the high school vote, not good because we know what a big part of the electorate high school students represent.
And just what makes you think you speak for every college student in the nation? Who should he have picked, Ron Paul? Ever stop and think that maybe you and your friends don't know as much about politics as Barack Obama, or perhaps that you just might be morons? - tommq, on 08/23/2008, -3/+34Er, technically he would be the Yang to Obama's Yin...
- cygnus2112, on 08/23/2008, -11/+42'Nother White Oldguy?
- aftern9ne, on 08/23/2008, -3/+33That is a wonderful argument. Let's keep going.
You know who else had hair? Hitler. - LoveWidescreen, on 08/23/2008, -3/+32Yeah, awesome. He also wants to spend $1 billion of tax payer dollars to scan the Internet for file sharers. Yeah, that's a ***** BRILLIANT way to spend taxpayer money.

I can't believe that Obama picked this guy. - BigNewbs, on 08/23/2008, -8/+37Hi. I'm in Delaware.
- hikaruzero, on 08/23/2008, -7/+36I think the proof really lies in the pudding.
So far, Obama is not the President and has limited power to change things. That being said, he *has* changed something *very* significant: the way he and the Democratic Party fund their campaign -- taking no contributions from PACs. Not to mention, there have been no swiftboat-like smear ads launched by the Obama campaign, any negative ads have been entirely valid.
There are many things unchanged: the rhetoric is unchanged (change/hope), the traditional liberal stances are unchanged (abortion/welfare/etc.). However, there have been significant changes in the way the campaigns were run so far.
Obama (and Biden as well) have only begun to walk the line, but so far, it's not just all talk. For someone to step up and actually walk the walk right from the get-go, that does give me some suspicion that the change rhetoric isn't just regurgitation. - TheTaoOfBill, on 08/23/2008, -18/+48I dunno...Biden sounds a little two faced to me...
- d03boy, on 08/23/2008, -5/+31Obama's half black/white so he already has the yin and the yang
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -7/+32Yet alcohol, the leading cause of spousal abuse, the leading cause of traffic accidents and the cause of many serious illnesses, and the drug most criminals are under the influence of when arrested, is legal.
What's to be embarrassed about smoking weed? The fact that other people have a Cheech and Chong stereotype about people who smoke weed?
I'm 28, own my house, own my own technical translation agency and smoke weed every single day. - tommq, on 08/23/2008, -6/+31Israel and drugs are the nation's top priority this election because we already managed to institute free health care, end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, cure poverty, and save the human species and its ecosystem from the inevitable destruction of global warming.
- charm803, on 08/23/2008, -11/+36The difference is that Biden is sharp, not a bluthering idiot.
- sanman, on 08/23/2008, -42/+67Yeah, what a winner

He was forced to apologize to Mr. Obama almost the moment he entered the race for president after he was quoted as describing Mr. Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” a remark that drew criticism for being racially insensitive. While campaigning in New Hampshire, Mr. Biden said that ”you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” - dagnome1984, on 08/23/2008, -5/+29I could name five or so, but the point is he is a pro drug war nutjob.
- zelig, on 08/23/2008, -11/+35Joe Biden on Obama:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man." - planksconstant, on 08/23/2008, -4/+26^ that from a guy who's name is "AssJuice"
- TheTaoOfBill, on 08/23/2008, -12/+34I am a college student and I was rooting for Biden.
Perhaps you just haven't seen this man in action:

The guy does not pull his punches. He will rip the GOP a new one! Biden is an absolutely amazing choice and I couldn't be happier. - solarweasel, on 08/23/2008, -2/+23where is this 'delaware'?
- drewbudd, on 08/23/2008, -7/+28How did he alienate every college age'd voter?
Because Biden has gray hair? Does that mean Biden = McCain?
Should Obama have picked someone closer to his age? Would it have been better to have an young ticket? That is the damn stupidest thing I have ever heard. To the general public, young = inexperienced (you can think Hillary for this, especially towards Obama). Obama needed to choose someone older, someone with foreign policy experience. Tell me how he went wrong with Biden.
I'm all for every young voter participating in this election, but I know damn well most of us are lazy/forgetful/apathetic and we will end up not voting. I have two friends, both Republican because this is Nebraska and they are unable to think for themselves(parents are R and that means they are automatically R), and they most likely won't vote. I have a friend, if he cared he would be a Democrat, but he couldn't care less, he isn't going to vote.
In short, you are retarded. Don't judge someone because they have gray hair and automatically hate them. Try getting to know your professors, a lot of them have gray hair, I'm guessing. In my experience, they are usually pretty cool. Who would've thunk it.....you can actually like an older person. - nofx1510, on 08/23/2008, -17/+38I completely disagree. Joe Biden is the kinda guy who you want in office. Hes gonna be straight forward with what he does and he doesn't beat around the ***** bush like everyone else in American politics.
- griffin7287, on 08/23/2008, -7/+28I disagree. Biden can talk to southerners and the working class like no other senator. Primarily because Biden is the very definition of working class. His wife is a public school teacher and Biden is actually the poorest Senator in the country. His net worth was reported as -$300,000. Much different from the 36 million reported for McCain.
Now, does Biden automatically give Obama a southern state? No. However, he may be able to pull one out because of his background. -
