I find it perfectly plausible for someone to be a member of a church and disagree with that church's pastor - disagreeing on race is no different than disagreeing on anything else - it's not a "special" issue that deserves all the media hype it's getting. Many pastors are way off the straight and narrow, and intelligent people realize that and yet still participate in faith communities despite their objections.
