- nickelking, on 06/22/2008, -17/+52Many half truths there, but even if they were true it's still less than mccain.
- sheasie, on 06/22/2008, -18/+5222? That's all?? At least you can actually *count* the number of Obama flip flops. (I double dare anyone to try counting the number of McCain flip flops. Do numbers even go that high?)
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -45/+76How could the messiah of the digg community behave like an opportunist politician??? I guess all that "change" he talks about is really the "changing of his mind to appease the crowd he's with".
- SgtQuackers, on 06/21/2008, -45/+67Obama is all about just appeasing people until he gets elected. Now that these articles are making it to Digg maybe people will see him for what he truly is. But the mainstream media will never cover this because Obama is their "Golden Child" He can do no wrong in their eyes.
- RedPhalanx, on 06/22/2008, -2/+21Fighting in the comments of the FISA topic
- actorboy, on 06/21/2008, -20/+32Um, McCain flip flops. Obama's flip flips do not magically erase McCain's. We're you one of those kids in school who used "but other kids do it" as an excuse? The important question is what issues they are flip flopping on and how said flip flops help or hurt the direction this country needs to go. Example: Lincoln supported the Fugitive Slave Act until he flip flopped.
- B08ama, on 06/22/2008, -7/+18How many of you would rather that he DIDN'T flip-flop and stuck with sucky stances on those things?
- deltron, on 06/22/2008, -2/+13Decriminalization of Marijuana: While running for the U.S. Senate in January 2004, Obama told Illinois college students that he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use. In the Oct. 30, 2007, presidential debate, he joined other Democratic candidates in opposing the decriminalization of marijuana.
.... =( - coffeebaby, on 06/22/2008, -10/+19In 1971 Obama bodly declared that he did not like carrots or cauliflower and he would NEVER eat them. yet he was seen at a recent fund raising dinner eating a vegetable medley that contained BOTH carrots AND cauliflower! now i ask you, is this the type of man we want in the white house?
- HenvY, on 06/22/2008, -2/+11LOL, regardless of Obama's position - Clinton made it clear many times she supported NAFTA.
- Awspire, on 06/23/2008, -0/+9178 diggs, 108 comments and never made the front. Yep, Digg is some Democracy.
- actorboy, on 06/21/2008, -10/+18"Oh, and mighty good thing that Republican, Abraham Lincoln flip flopped too wasn't it."
That was my point, that flip flopping on an issue is not necessarily a bad thing.
By the way, you guys really need to stop wearing Lincoln as a Republican badge. Your party has drifted so far from Lincoln's Republicans that you are similar in name only. - postingbh, on 06/22/2008, -10/+17Haha. I like how "Running for President or Vice President of the United States" is considered a flip-flop.

MR. RUSSERT: So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?
SEN. OBAMA: I will not.

OMFG, what a FLIP-FLOPPER!!1! - inactive, on 06/22/2008, -2/+8That's a nice straw man you built there. And you knocked it down all by yourself!
Ron Paul "fans" are representing their constitutional beliefs, and making sure that the Obama people know it when he moves too far right (fascist) on the issue. Saying that we'd rather have McCain in office is a wry way of avoiding the fact that Obama just may sell out the Constitution for political viability. - PeacefulKancer, on 06/22/2008, -15/+20Oh so true. Can't believe this has 38 diggs so far. Where are the Obama bury brigades?
- eleete, on 06/21/2008, -5/+10We're you ever in school ? lol
- inactive, on 06/21/2008, -14/+19McCain flip flops and Obama flip flops. What happens is that on Digg the only stories that get any traction are when McCain flip flops because Digg.com is a socialist website. I'm just passing information along to the folks who are my friends so that when they come across one of those McCain stories they can pass the Obama related information along.
Oh, and mighty good thing that Republican, Abraham Lincoln flip flopped too wasn't it. - buildbyflying, on 06/22/2008, -14/+18I'm glad you all are focusing on the important issues instead of buying into baa-baa media feed-points. "flip-flop" is nothing more than the sound of Karl Rove teabagging your ignorance. It's bs. It IS politics. Or have you forgotten there's more important concerns in this election?
- inactive, on 06/22/2008, -1/+5is anyone surprised by this? principals above personalities, i say.
obama = scum mccain = scum. you have to be a sick bastard to want to be president anyway. - DiggLive, on 06/22/2008, -3/+6Look what happens when people do that. People that voted for Nader instead of Gore gave Bush the presidency.
- SheilaNoya, on 06/22/2008, -16/+19That list contains a lot of misinformation too, but yes, some of it is true.
Obama is not a God, he's not going to satisfy 100% of everyone's wishes, and he isn't perfect. However, in comparison with McCain, Obama is far better for America than what McCain would bring us.
As far as my own "wish list" in a candidate, I agree with Obama on about 90% of what he supports. I only agree with about 20% of McCain's proposals. I think Obama has the ability to move America forward again. I think McCain will do the opposite and continue to drag us down like Bush has done.
In addition, if "flip-flops" is all that matters, then McCain gets the prize for that. No one is even sure where McCain stands on anything because he's all over the road. He changes his position almost daily, depending on which crowd he is talking to and he appears to be suffering from dementia (or just an old man's mind that's getting feeble - you decide). - inactive, on 06/22/2008, -1/+4I think he should be going for the vote of anyone that is strongly pro-America. But hey, that's just me.
- Ajajadude, on 06/22/2008, -4/+7That's because he doesn't draw enough support to warrant changing/altering any of his stances.
- queotic, on 06/22/2008, -11/+14Don't fall for these Republican tricks. They know that McCain changes his views everyday and don't care. What they're trying to do is make you think that Obama is just another lying politician. Just by glancing at the list, I see that some are typical neocon distortions.
- inactive, on 06/23/2008, -1/+3You can't blame Nader supporters for not voting for Gore. Obviously they felt Nader was better over Gore. And you can't retreat back to two party system saying "If I don't vote for that one, the other bad one will win". You have to keep voting for a true candidate that truly represents your values! Our revolution did not happen over night and voting for third party candidate won't bring immediate change either.
- DCB360, on 06/22/2008, -0/+2Politicians try to appeal for each niche. If Cuban Americans get their say on their homeland, Mexican Americans get their say on their homeland, then Jewish Americans can have their say to.
Most people won't vote based on Israel, but many will. Also, some see Israel as a very important issue on Foreign Policy. The Israelis have taken out Nuclear Reactors of America's enemies and many terrorist leaders. They also provide intelligence on anti-American terrorist leaders in the Middle East.
They are the only true Democracy in the Middle East. - postingbh, on 06/22/2008, -2/+4I'm saying that whoever authored this piece has extended the definition of a "flip-flop" so far as to make him/herself look ridiculous. In declaring this a "flip-flop", the author has made it obvious to any intelligent reader that the he/she is a wannabe pundit, partisan hack.
- hoffey, on 06/22/2008, -4/+6Is this really a surprise? He is the Manchurian candidate for crying out loud. This is how it works out...
1) Global elite pick some candidates and push them to the media.
2) Media flaunts candidates for years before elections and makes them 'popular'
3) People don't believe media so they choose candidate they feel the media doesn't "want to win" because it must be the right choice.
4) The People lose all their civil liberties and privacy because they fear 'terrorists' so much they are willing to do anything to feel safe.
5) Rinse and repeat. - slayerab, on 06/22/2008, -5/+7Obviously burying you
- Zuhsz, on 06/22/2008, -10/+12What!? Obama is just your everyday lying slimy politician and not the Messiah?
- geneticlemon, on 06/22/2008, -3/+5Wow, what's wrong with some of you people? Ron Paul will NEVER BE ELECTED PRESIDENT. It is STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE AT THIS POINT. The least you morons can do right now is support the only hope this country has to get out of its miserable state, instead of ARGUING and BITCHING about the same exact thing over and over again!
Shake yourselves out of your Ron Paul delirium! Elections are in 5 and a half months! FOCUS on getting the better candidate in the office, instead of damming the river! - franklymister, on 06/22/2008, -1/+3Dugg for "Karl Rove teabagging your ignorance."
- THETEH, on 06/22/2008, -7/+9There aren't any mainstream politicians who haven't changed their minds on some issues. That's the way presidential elections have always been. Obama's still a hell of a lot more intelligent than McCain, even if he has changed his favorite food since the '90's.
- DCB360, on 06/22/2008, -4/+6O no. A cited article that is articulate and informative that is against Obama. What ever will us unbiased diggers do?
- franklymister, on 06/22/2008, -0/+2Baldwin is the most qualified to root out "homosexualists" while he searches the 9/11 Truth files for evidence of NWO conspiracies.
That's what you meant, right? - DCB360, on 06/22/2008, -8/+10I just hate it when the flip-flops are so noticeable. He tells one crowd that Iran is a partner of the U.S. and then another crowd that Israel is in danger of Iran, so he will take measures to stop their nuclear program. He says that he disapproves of the Likud party and then says that Jerusalem will have to remain Israeli and that the U.S. will open an embassy there. He can deal with Hamas on some days and other days he will not even talk to them?
That is why he shouldn't get the vote of anyone that is strongly pro-Israel. You don't know what he will do... - inactive, on 06/22/2008, -3/+5Politics.
But hey, ron paul believes the earth is 6000 years old... a flip flop is still definitely better than that. - Stevanoski, on 06/21/2008, -37/+38He has perfected the Pander Pivot, that is why he is called the Pander Bear.
- trotskyist, on 06/22/2008, -1/+2To quote Abraham Lincoln on his own Flip Flops: "I'd like to think I'm smarter today than I was yesterday"
- Shiftgood, on 06/22/2008, -13/+14yawn.
- lhbaker, on 06/22/2008, -1/+2I'm not refuting anything. I'm pointing out that a blogger is collecting ad revenue for a story they essentially stole from someplace else and simply pasted into their own blog.
- sylvok, on 06/22/2008, -0/+1Wow look at the digg/bury for this comment.
- inactive, on 06/22/2008, -0/+1Coffee: get some!
- jreinstedler, on 06/22/2008, -6/+7Right on... its all about getting in office. Once he's there, he'll be untouchable. =(
- inactive, on 06/22/2008, -3/+4It's still easy to be wrong.
"Do you accept Evolution via natural selection?"
"No!"
"Should abortion be left up to the individual instead of the government?"
"No!"
"Is there a separation of church and state?"
"No!" - theoodone, on 06/22/2008, -1/+2By the way what is with Americans and "the left" .
- inactive, on 06/22/2008, -2/+3Wrong. Even your buddy Mr. Paul has flip-flopped, hard:
Paul in 1988 (Libertarian):
"As in our country's first 150 years, there shouldn't be any immigration policy at all. We should welcome everyone who wants to come here and work."
Paul in 2008 (Republican):
"Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair."
Oops! Now, you can provide some excuse, but honestly it is irrelevant. The fact is, he did a complete 180, so to say he has "never changed" his views is a lie. I won't even list his contradictions on other issues like his stance on evolution, which changes depending on which audience he is talking to... -
