- sobpanic, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2I understand both parties taking advantage of such moments to drive the narrative of their candidacies, and even Phil Gramm's full comments as are to some extent revealing about the attitudes he (and perhaps McCain) holds, but this should really be an opportunity to call ***** on the media for yet again taking something out of context, soundbiting it, and generating an overblown controversy over it, instead of actually being journalists.
The media's bias towards doing this sort of thing for a quick rating is far more corrosive than any liberal or conservative bias. It boxes the candidates in, cheapens the dialogue, and completely distracts from substantive issues.
As Jon Stewart once said about it: "You're hurting America." Spot on.
Oh, and I'm an Obama supporter, and yes, I think bittergate was rubbish too. - adamsteinbaugh, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0Now that's a hell of a way to paint McCain as out of touch; point out that McCain is providing imaginary, "psychological" solutions to problems he doesn't believe are real.
