You accept bailout money you do so with conditions or don't ask. It's the way they should have set up the TARP originally last Fall. - freedomjoe, on 03/29/2009, -1/+13but shouldn't they have followed the fiscally conservative's party and "promoted" him with more pay? Maybe run him for office? /s
accountability. so this is what it looks like. Thank you, President Obama. This is change we can believe in. - deadbaby, on 03/29/2009, -0/+10The administration should make a public call to service to successful (retired) CEOs and have them come in with complete control and a healthy budget.
- inactive, on 03/29/2009, -1/+11The guy drove the company into the ground. Bank CEO's should have been forced out too. All these bailout babies need new management. GM killed the electric car! Had they not done that, they wouldn't be in this mess.
I'm sure the lunatics on the right will blame the unions and yet that's who they have more in common with.
Dumping CEO's should have been conditions of original TARP from back in the fall. Money lent always has strings. Why not the bank & car companies asking for bailout $$? - Echota, on 03/29/2009, -1/+5YES!!
Afte eight years,I wonder how much severance he getting.......................hey it's just a thought - shupy, on 03/29/2009, -0/+3Well the CEO of Ford got a salary of 22million. If the chief of GM didn't put away a little money for a rainy day, shame on him.
- Renegade98, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2I think most all of us share the blame in the downfall of the American Economy. Greed, greed, more greed.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -1/+3About time, Wagoners hubris and arrogance about govt. assistance was like a slap in the face to those who are underwriting GMs survival.
I hope many more of these CEOs with Wagoners attitude fall, they've been far more detrimental to the economy than they have been helpful. - CaptCarrot, on 03/30/2009, -1/+1Yes, management drove the company into the ground...
...by negotiating financially crippling contracts with the UAW.
