Yeah, but McCain seems older in that different way. You know, senility. - Pammeltz, on 10/13/2008, -3/+33I am happy to see that some conservative pundits are ALMOST capable of putting Patriotism and America first by acknowledging McCain's critical weaknesses of judgment and vision. Why won't they just take the leap and actually endorse Obama.. to influence other Republicans.. and to spare us the incredibly dangerous risk of McCain's election.. and particularly of Palin's ascendancy to the Vice Presidency.
Their fellow Conservative pundit David Brooks... called Palin a "fatal cancer on the Republican Party" and praised Obama for his intellect, social sensitivity and ability to surround himself with the best people... and to chose a VP who would not be a yes man.
However, Brooks too not only would not actively admit that Obama is the Only real choice... he completely watered down his remarks when he addressed the same issue in his OP-Ed in the New York Times. The Times piece was only mildly critical of the Republican ticket. If he really believed what he said originally... it was truly a cowardly... and unpatriotic act !!
This election is not about choice or party loyalty..this time... there is only one, credible candidate for President with the temperament and intelligence ( and VP back-up) to have a fair chance at leading this Country out of the economic and moral abyss into which it has fallen. - dn11, on 10/13/2008, -2/+13Republicans brutally pummeling McCain camp

McCain: old, erratic, lacks judgement and temperamental... - with health problems
Palin: completely unqualified; horrible "executive" record... - FasterGun, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5Best lawyers in all of the Shire.

- demsdebreaks, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3I think McCain and Palin are doing a wonderful job on the campaign trail. Indeed, there's very little I can find to criticize. Well, I would suggest they start passing out white sheets and hoods at their rallies, but really, that's all I can think of. Keep up the good work, John and Sarah! You're making me feel great about my choice.
Obama / Biden '08 - magus_melchior, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3The problem is, a lot of conservative pundits actually believe, as disastrous McCain is, he's the lesser of two evils. Another factor is the loyalism that is endemic to the GOP.
Now, they'll praise his campaign, as it's a rare politician who can pull off counterattack after counterattack as Obama's campaign had. But they're locked into conservative philosophies, and can't bring themselves out of the box to consider voting for Obama. The only one giving them any hope of a conservative government--even in name only-- (and Barr/Baldwin are out of the question) is McCain's ticket. - IphtashuFitz, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3Interesting summary to end the article:
"We haven't commented yet," said the CNN analyst, "on what a sensational campaign Obama has run." - hurtmetomysoul, on 10/14/2008, -1/+4best you've got?

- freakstyle571, on 10/14/2008, -1/+2thom yorke? what does he have to do with this?
- oldgal, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1Hopefully this campaign will serve as a lesson and pull the Republican party back to the center. It has been out on the lunatic fringe far too long. It appears that the pundits are beginning to realize their reputation is on the line as well.

- AndySavage, on 10/14/2008, -2/+2"It's over," Noonan said.
"The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political ***** about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."
Of course, Peggy forgot to log in under her troll account before posting the following day's McCain-fellating column. - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -1/+0COMPREHENSIVE LOOK AT SEN. OBAMA
