Nine Republicans Break Party Ranks
vidzking.com — In a stunning development which fell with the silence of a feather yesterday, nine Republicans broke with their iron-fisted party to put country first, and voted to send Rep. Dennis Kucinich's article of impeachment HR 1345 to the Judiciary, where Chairman John Conyers will hold a hearings on abuses of power by the Bush administration, according

Congressman Kevin Brady (TX), Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (MD), Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC), Congressman Don Manzullo (IL), Congressman Tim Murphy (PA), Congressman Ron Paul (TX), Congressman Dave Reichert (WA), Congressman Christopher Shays (CT)
This should be noted by their respective constituents, as I have noted one Michael Burgess continues to stand down on this matter. It's not about party - do you take your oath seriously, or not?- yellowcakewalk, on 07/18/2008, -0/+14Way to go, Wayne Gilchrest! About time someone put the "free" back into the Freestate of Maryland.
- kemp34, on 07/18/2008, -2/+33We NEED the honest and patriotic republicans to stand up against the evil neo-cons. Thank you to those who showed courage, principle and a dedication to our constitutional republic.
- sindex, on 07/18/2008, -2/+26Bravo Gentlemen! Bravo!
- brutalentropy, on 07/18/2008, -2/+26Hopefully this will inspire more people to stand up in Congress. Truth is not a partisan issue!
- DPolitico, on 07/18/2008, -3/+22I guess with two of the nine being from Texas they'd finally had enough of W.
- quesi, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Dub's not really a Texan, you know...? 'course in a year or two he will be Paraguayan.
- Jimmyb207, on 07/18/2008, -2/+12I'm not going to hold my breath, but it would be so great to see something good happen in U.S. Government for once. It would be so great for America and the world for that matter, if our congressman and senators and federal judges just WOKE THE HELL UP and worked together to extract the parasites that have sucked the life out of this country. YES, Impeach....then get rid of all the ***** and tyrannical crap that this administration has brought upon America!
- MarkEarhart, on 07/19/2008, -0/+2Not just this administration.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -2/+15nine less traitors!
- PuterPrsn, on 07/18/2008, -14/+1And all wanting a pat on the head for a useless prank to get in news. There is nothing to impeach for, nothing in there that will hold water. Hatred, bile and vitriol are not legal reasons to impeach. Sorry.
- kwol, on 07/18/2008, -0/+11Nothing to Impeach for? Congress Impeached Clinton for getting a BJ and lying about it under oath. Bush waged an illegitimate/illegal war, sacrificing the lives of 4000+ American soldiers... Holy crap, I think that is a damn good reason for impeachment... Kucinich has more reasons outlined in his article...what more do you want?
- MizSwann, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3And if THAT isnt enuff for ya, how about - oh, I dunno - transgressing the Constitution?!

- quesi, on 07/18/2008, -0/+11Someone is really caught up on the party line thing. OK, look closely at who you are defending. Did he run on a platform that was smaller government, fiscal responsibility, and no nation building? Lies us into war, trying to lie us into another, no child left behind. He's just like a democrat, except he hasn't been tax and spend, he's been spend and spend. But, eventually, we will be taxed on it. The money has to come from somewhere. If you look past the bs, it is easy to see that he picked up precisely where Clinton let off...
THEY ARE ON THE SAME TEAM.
Nobama and McAnus is only a choice between ending the United States via socialism or military means. Look at how "right" Nobama's been lately - and how historically "left" McFederalZone has been. The parties and the labels are to convince us that we actually have a choice. Better to not make that choice one way or the other.
Let me be clear... all the little issues will mean nothing if these guys are allowed to destroy the United States. It is not right vs left, rep vs dem, con vs lib - it is U.S. vs THEM, individualism vs collectivism, good vs evil. Get a second opinion then wherever you are currently hearing of current affairs. IF you are an American. Read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights (including the all important preamble that they'd prefer disappeared) and then ask yourself which side you are really on. Sure, Kucinich has some liberal ideas - but saving the United States from tyranny is more patriotic than 97% of congress is willing to do for us. Are you We the People, or are you one of them. Figure it out, the time is coming it would seem.- Robjayne, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2Bravo!
- NonServium, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1"He's just like a democrat, except he hasn't been tax and spend, he's been spend and spend."
Republicans always do that. They spend and spend and spend. Democrats try taxing the wealthy to get some of the money back, and spend a lot less. And the stuff they spend on might actually benefit me instead of some ultra-rich person. - quesi, on 07/18/2008, -0/+3"and spend a lot less"
Ummm, no - not really. - NonServium, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1Apparently you aren't aware of the cost of the war.
- quesi, on 07/19/2008, -1/+1Apparently you think that only Republicans lead us to war.
- NonServium, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1Not at all. We were comparing the amount the different parties spend. Reagan tripled the national debt during his presidency, Bush senior added a little more to it, Clinton added a little more to it, and now W has just piled tons more on due to the cost of *this* war.
Just because you don't see any homeless guys being given tuna fish to eat when Republicans are in office doesn't mean the government isn't spending money. With the Republicans, it tends to be more money and it tends to go solely to the extremely wealthy.
Not that the Democrats are good, or that they aren't really all operating as a single party nowadays, but for the last 90 years or so the Democrats are better about this kind of stuff. - quesi, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Um,... FDR? They're both F'd up, and we can certainly agree on that.
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/18/2008, -0/+9Plenty to impeach for. Check out Article of Impeachment #10 of 35, the Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch Bushlies:
http://yellowcakewalk.net/articles_of_impeachment_ ... - jenniferstruth, on 07/18/2008, -0/+6Here is the deal, Bush is not the only one guilty of these war crimes however as the sitting president he is responsible especially once he started his signing statements and executive orders declaring himself unitary executive. Saddam was a monster as is Bush. Sadaam was also set up by our government to be the fall guy, much like Bush is being set up by the ruling elite to be the fall guy for the war, the financial collapse and the environment. You people and your left/right game. Have we not learned by now that there is no difference between the democrats and the republicans? They are all profiting off of death, they are all complicit in the crimes against humanity in the forms of extraordinary rendition, the use of depleted uranium in every "battle" we have been in since desert storm, the infringement of our rights here as Americans and continuing to lead the American people down this false path of fixing the environment by changing our personal ways instead of actually changing the factories and such.....the left and the right are on the same side and that side is money and power. There are many good people whom are trying to get the word out to you and no one is listening. Norman619 up there seems to think the president cannot do much without the approval of congress, have you forgotten all the veto's or threats of veto's that have happened. Do you know that NSPD51 which is the order for continuity of government, has not been fully viewed by congress because Bush will not let them see it? What about the warrentless wire-tapping that happened years before we actually heard of it happening. That is why I believe congress has become impotent, they have too much dirt on people. Like when Spitzer wrote the op-ed piece about the sub-prime mortgage scam and suddenly was busted with a hooker.
The fact is the American people have failed ourselves, our children as well as the rest of the world. We have the greatest country in the world, the greatest set of tools to fight against tyranny in the form of our constitution and we allowed it to be dismantled and we have allowed our current regime to instill fear in us so much so that people will not even speak out. They are torturing people daily and I am not speaking of water-boarding, that is the least harmful method of torture. Please read the John Yoo torture papers, did you know that the president allowed children have their testicles cut with pliers in front of their parents to get information? Did you know that there is a video of children being anally raped with glow sticks in front of their mothers in order to get the mothers to turn in their husbands? Don't just shake your head and call me crazy and don't you dare tell me I am lying until you look it up. Seymour Hersch broke the news and you can find those facts anywhere. We all know that our country has been destabilizing countries forever, manifest destiny. Look at the death, destruction, evil and pain we inflicted and are still inflicting in south america, we simply now have our pockets set on the middle east. This is nothing new, we just do not have our history right.
We as Americans must support impeachment not only for our own nation to heal, but for the world to see that we do not condone the rape, torture, killing, destruction and destabilization that is being perpetrated on the world in our names. Democracy is not brought to people at the end of a gun and it is a bit of a slap in our face here in the U.S. when we are having our rights taken daily and have to go to a "free speech zone" to say what we want to say. How do you all feel about having to be in "free speech zones"? This is why we must get this country back on track and Dennis Kucinich, Cynthia McKinney and quite a few others are fighting for us and we need to let them all know that we appreciate their dedication to the constitution and to the American public. Please contact me if you have anything you would like to discuss as I love to talk to people about the future of our nation. We have the greatest nation in the world and we patriots are trying to defend it but we need your help citizens.
Peace, Love and Respect,
Jen- stienster, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2yes, I did indeed know all of the above, and wholeheartedly agree. There is no Left. No Right. Just evil elite. And I'm not joking when I say evil. And guess what else?- I do indeed believe that the elites aren't even real humans. This is not about religion, it's about world history. Look up everything you can on Enoch. Then make an educated decision on who's running the world.
P.S.: this comment wasn't meant toward anyone in particular, but I hope everyone will do the search on Enoch.

- redcolumbine, on 07/18/2008, -1/+10The news blackout is scary, but the news itself heartening!
- PolishLogic, on 07/18/2008, -3/+1News blackout? Search Google news for Bush Impeachment. It links to hundreds of articles about this in the last week.
If you chose not to read the stories that are written, is it still a blackout?

- tastynuggets, on 07/18/2008, -0/+4I still would've liked to have seen a Paul - Kucinich ticket.
- philthetechie, on 07/18/2008, -1/+1I live in Texas and I have a new congressman I might be interested in getting re-elected. Thank you Kevin Brady.
*Edit* Fukcing Aye. - OffPiste, on 07/18/2008, -2/+1Too late.
- GrandmaSheila, on 07/18/2008, -1/+2Don't get your hopes up. The Vichy Whore Pelosi already announced the House won't be voting on impeachment anyway, so these guys get credit as "patriots", without having to VOTE to impeach Bush/Cheney.
Works nicely, doesn't it? - MarkEarhart, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1If this doesn't work, and quickly, it is time for a revolution!!!
- beatles901, on 07/20/2008, -0/+1Great article and that quote from TJ was immaculately picked.
