- blaxbb, on 10/03/2009, -2/+50to whoever comments on the mayor:
This mayor took the job in one of the worst cities in the country, he took that job and is making a lasting, positive impact on the City of Newark. Regardless of whatever you think of the city past or present, don't bash the person doing everything in his power to fix it. Do you honestly think you could do a better job cleaning up Newark? - tcbishop12, on 10/02/2009, -7/+55Puts Conan on the no fly list to Newark. Probably for the best. Did you hear that 85 passengers on a trans-Atlantic flite developed flu-like symptoms, so the plane had to land in Newark? That's the first time passengers have gotten sick before arriving at Newark.
- sryan8913, on 10/03/2009, -5/+49To be honest, he's a great mayor.
- SpectralSounds, on 10/03/2009, -0/+38Saw this guy on Colbert or the Daily Show and he seems like a pretty stand up guy. Any improvement in Newark is better than none.
- a1532b, on 10/03/2009, -0/+36I sure hope everyone got that it was a joke...I mean the mayor was practically laughing the whole way through both videos. Cory Booker actually seems like a pretty nice guy, and meeting with Conan would make a wonderful segment. Maybe it's just my rose colored glasses but that dude seemed on the level.
- elliotys, on 10/03/2009, -6/+38Why do birds fly upside down over Newark?
Because it aint worth ***** on. . . - nmffffd9, on 10/02/2009, -27/+56It's a ***** joke, chill out.
Just because the mayor actually came out and explained about all the "improvements" of Newark further proves that it's a ***** city. - bradleyland, on 10/03/2009, -0/+21Speaking of jokes, I'm thinking maybe you should rewatch the video. It was obviously cut as a tongue-in-cheek response.
- argylecreative, on 10/02/2009, -2/+22Did he say "by the powers invested in me?"
- techmaster, on 10/03/2009, -1/+18Wow. I think it's safe to say that you are, in fact, actually retarded.
- anarcurt, on 10/03/2009, -1/+17He's obviously not serious. This guy is smart and witty. There's a documentary about his fight for mayorship called Street Fight, Decent documentary.
- DougChristian, on 10/03/2009, -0/+13For God's sake. It had a skit in it.
Conan gets to make jokes about NJ and feuding with a mayor. Booker gets national exposure talking about the things he's doing to clean up a ***** city. We get to watch.
Win win win. Not you ripple. - shiftkgb, on 10/03/2009, -0/+13Newark is awesome, so great in fact if you're driving there after midnight you can just creep through the red lights and the cops wont bother stopping you cause you're likely to get carjacked if you stop at a red.
- Ghostalker, on 10/03/2009, -0/+10I like politicians that show a human side. Most elected officals would either ignore a comment like that altogether, or submit a written press-release to the local papers.
Newark isn't on my "places to see list" but I'm glad they have enough pride in their city to fight humor with humor. - Snuffs, on 10/03/2009, -1/+11OH ***** SON !
>.> - MakinBacon, on 10/03/2009, -0/+9Why are so many New Yorkers depressed?
Because the light at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey. - AiR1890, on 10/03/2009, -2/+10 Conan just struck back, and it was hilarious. I cannot believe he got Arnold Swartzaneger to make it official that the mayor of New Ark is banned from California, just amazing.
- LordVance, on 10/03/2009, -0/+8... I can't believe this many people are completely missing it >.>
- dilfo, on 10/02/2009, -4/+11lol...
- Johnichi, on 10/03/2009, -5/+11Yeah, this seems a lot like a scripted feud, but that's not to say I won't be following it. Any opportunity to have Conan make jokes at the expense of New Jersey is a-okay with me.
- Atario, on 10/03/2009, -0/+6Exactly. In fact, I'd not be surprised to find that the "feud" was orchestrated behind the scenes. Something like:
1. Conan cracks joke
2. Mayor "strikes back" on YouTube
3. Conan replies on show, proposing a guest segment
4. Back and forth a few times
5. The climactic segment, possibly involving a wacky contest to "settle it"
And the point at which the parties start working together behind the scenes could be as early as #2 or as late as #4.
And that's cool with me, it's all for fun. - Misinformant, on 10/03/2009, -7/+13As another New Jerseyan, I say ***** YOU.
- BREZZZ, on 10/03/2009, -0/+6you can't make a fair comparison till you stay in camden.
- PandaBearShenyu, on 10/03/2009, -0/+6The joke is on you my friend.
- stobb3s, on 10/03/2009, -4/+9newark is one of the worst cities i have EVER been in
- Jerky1312, on 10/03/2009, -1/+6He's marketing/promoting his city at practically no cost. If Conan keeps this up, its just more publicity for Newark, New Jersey. Notice during all the jabbing at Conan and humor, he is also boasting about how great the city is. It's actually pretty smart and effective. I'm sure the mayor also gets more support for not only "defending" his city, he shows he has a sense of humor and knowledge to utilize the internet and social media to market his city.
- clarkstnj, on 10/03/2009, -1/+5If anyone hasn't seen it, check out the Documentary "Street Fight" about Cory Booker's first run at mayor of Newark. It's an awesome documentary.
- pintomp3, on 10/03/2009, -0/+3flite?
- CCUboogernjit, on 10/03/2009, -2/+5He is a good mayor.
You don't live here.

- robbie32, on 10/03/2009, -3/+6I got to NJIT. Newark sucks. End of story.
- Joker99352, on 10/03/2009, -0/+3I'd take that bus ticket,
- KibblesnBitts, on 10/03/2009, -0/+3As a New Jerseyan as well, I say ***** EVERYBODY
- skiingpowder10, on 10/03/2009, -0/+3i like this mayor , hes got guts and a good sense of humour, good job Mayor Booker!
- palehorse864, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2I now pronounce you lanky and Irish?
- firewall1, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2I lol'd
It's about time a politician actually created a funny gag without:
1. Cheating on his wife with a dude in a bathroom
2. Cheating on his wife in S. America
3. Killing an aide/girlfriend.
4. Attacking another country under false pretenses.
5. Killed a hooker for trivial reasons (thanks Kwamee Kilpatrick)
6. Hooked up his buddies with sweet multi-million dollar deals, while screwing over his own people (Kwamee - love ya bro.)
etc. etc. I for one think the Newark mayor rocks. I live near Detroit - you should see how much of a ***** hole Detroit is. - CCUboogernjit, on 10/03/2009, -0/+2NJIT Student here too!

- kirbs2001, on 10/03/2009, -0/+1dugg for abuse of power
- kashk5, on 10/03/2009, -0/+1Yea, I was referring to Optimus Prime. It got shutdown in 2004. I didn't realize it was back up in 2006. Oh well, I had moved off campus by then anyway.
