- DiggLive, on 04/03/2008, -4/+57As I've said in other stories, it's too early to take this as face value. If it remains constant or even increases near April 10th, then it'll be more certain. I see it as a inflated result for Obama, even though I'd like this to hold true.
- dBass, on 04/03/2008, -3/+55PA it's your turn to send HRC, Inc. and their lies packing!
- CC440, on 04/03/2008, -2/+49Hillary will probably still win in PA, but by less than 5 points. Her campaign is done and she needs to call it a day before she does any major damage to the Democratic party. She has already begun the personal destruction of Obama, but she currently wields the power to destroy the Democrats in the eyes of the young and impressionable for decades to come. Look at what happened in 1968, the riots led to a dissillusioned population that eventually became the Reagan yuppies of the 1980's. She needs to stop before its too late, and hopefully she will do it quietly and with dignity so she doesn't go down in history as the most divisive and spiteful politician in U.S. history.
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -2/+41If Hillary loses the majority vote in PA, then it's over for her. Even then she can't deny her loss. We already know she's relying on these states so she can say "See, I can win a majority vote!" Although she'll stick in the race and wait for the superdelegate vote count. It's too apparent now that this woman cares nothing about the american population, the Democratic party, or the government. She only cares about herself.
- EugineMW, on 04/03/2008, -7/+45I am personally for Hillary, but since Obama and Hillary are so similar on issues, I hope Obama wins Pa to rap up the nomination soon. I am really worried Hillary staying in will hurt the democrats chance of winning in November :(
- RockTheWall, on 04/03/2008, -1/+29Oh how I wish more of her supporters were as reasonable and mature as you...
- azpat, on 04/03/2008, -1/+29It's too early and polls are always suspect, but maybe PA voters have decided that they can end this thing right here.
- mschoolov, on 04/03/2008, -1/+21Why is the photo of some old people at a baseball game?
"CBS news anchor Bob Shieffer, his wife, Pat, and their daughter Susan watch from the third-base line." - jynweythek, on 09/17/2008, -1/+18polls are *****. but still, this is awesome.
- aaroh, on 04/03/2008, -0/+16the only thing going for hillary is the clinton brand name, obama just needs time for people to get to know him thats why he'll do much better in Pa than Ohio. He only campaigned in Ohio for 4 days, Pa he has campaigned for like 2 weeks already and still has 3 weeks left!
- avidwriter, on 04/03/2008, -1/+15wait who won texas? oh yeah obama did.
- brwright, on 04/03/2008, -1/+14Looking good in Indiana too. His commercials are playing all of the time.
- gfunk76, on 04/03/2008, -0/+11The reason he's had such low numbers here is because people don't know him very well. I live outside of Philly, and most people I know don't watch the debates or pay attention to Politico, so they don't know who he is or what he stands for. The more time he spends here and the more ads he sells, the better he'll do.
The reason more people would vote for Hillary is simply because she's more well known. - Arramol, on 04/03/2008, -0/+10She tells stories about imaginary sniper fire, then claims she misspoke because of lack of sleep. She can deny anything.
- Doucheawitz, on 04/03/2008, -1/+11I believe the sarcasm has eluded this one...
- mugicha, on 04/03/2008, -0/+9PA, please put this ***** thing to bed!
- cyclopssmiley, on 04/03/2008, -0/+9polls mean nothing, we have seen that from Obama's other victories.
- argaen21, on 04/03/2008, -5/+14how do you get the backwards b? oh nevermind! *man that joke never gets old*
- GafferXL, on 04/03/2008, -1/+10Definitely a poll to take with a hefty grain of salt. If anything, take this in conjunction with the other polls saying that Clinton's lead is slowly evaporating, and you have a more telling trend. This is just a snapshot, and to be frank, Public Policy Polling isn't exactly a name-recognized reputable source.
If it's true? Fantastic - but I think we all know the only thing that matters is winning the polls on election day, and Obama's still got alot of hard work ahead of him to make inroads into this territory. - highlymodified, on 04/03/2008, -9/+17Finally, a surge I support.
Seriously tho, I'll believe those numbers when I see them. - shite021, on 04/03/2008, -0/+8Hillary is like those cliche monsters from horror movies. Just when you think the hero has finally killed the damn thing with his rifle or homemade flame thrower it claws itself out of the rubble to be shot one last time and finally die........to awaken and be slugged with a bat and slump down unconscious........grabbing the hero's leg 5 minutes later only to finally be blown to bits as he stuffs a grenade down its throat..........
- consonance, on 04/03/2008, -0/+8But we've also seen that some polls can be accurate. Just look at Ron Paul. No offense to the man or his supporters, but six months ago everyone on Digg was crying that the polls for the Republican presidential primary vote were wrong and Paul was going to deftly win the race, even though the polls in December showed that only 2-8% of potential voters were going to vote for him. January and February roll around, and the polls were shown to be correct on Ron Paul.
- exomni, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8Hopefully this continues on through to the primary.
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8Compare the accuracy of various polls here: http://firedoglake.com/2008/02/12/which-pollster-h ...
Unfortunately SUSA, which has Clinton up by 12, has the best record. - rottencod, on 04/03/2008, -1/+8Three weeks ago, not one in TWO dozen polls would have put Obama ahead, and ALL the polls show him gaining ground fast. The point was the surge in rankings, not the one poll that puts him ahead. Thanks for proving the point that Hillary and her supporters are only capable of missing the point of this entire campaign.
- Bilabrin, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6She ran another 3:00 A.M. phone call commercial. This new one is about the economy.
I don't understand this tactic when she allready stated that being sleep deprived distorts her memory and judgement. - headzoo, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6No doubt it's inflated, but the gap closing is real. I live in PA, and while I've seen a couple of Obama TV ads (none from Hillary) I suspect the reason he's catching up is because Hillary has been busy shooting herself in the foot. Obama doesn't even have to bad mouth her. She screws herself.
- rottencod, on 04/03/2008, -1/+7well.. according to Barack..
1. Quit spending more than we have, and pay down the national debts
2. Quit rewarding corporations with tax breaks for outsourcing jobs and start rewarding them for keeping jobs in the country
3. Grow more food domestically
4. Create green jobs and invest in energy innovation
5. Modernize the economy
6. Don't invade countries who haven't done anything to us
7. Police corporate corruption and put a stop to lobbyists owning DC
8. etc.
next question? - hemispheres010, on 04/03/2008, -0/+6I agree with the posts saying that polls are next to worthless, but still...this can't be a *bad* sign. And this came before Big Bad Bill had his little meltdown in a meeting of super deligates today.
- Acewrap, on 04/03/2008, -0/+5You have no POIJt. Also, please stop with the concern troll *****.
- gfunk76, on 04/03/2008, -0/+5We'll try :)
My wife and I are both new Democrats - I was independent and she was Republican - who switched to vote for Obama in the primary. - nodlezfodlez, on 04/03/2008, -0/+4and speaking of polls, ***** YOU FRANK!
- SenorCardgage74, on 04/03/2008, -0/+4***** it. Lets go out back and beat the ***** out of the HP printer.
- RandyF, on 04/03/2008, -1/+5Fw: FW: FW: YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ABOUT B. HUSSEIN OBAMA !!!1
- fluxion, on 04/03/2008, -0/+4he may very well be the worst bowler ever.
but i think the way he handled the situation spoke volumes about how humble and genuine a person he is. it gives me the impression that he will be a president much more in-tune and accessible by the people. so i wouldnt count that as a negative event
yah i sound like a fanboy - dinot, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3Afraid of Hillary? Annoyed yes. Irritated yes. Embarrassed yes. But afraid? I don't think so.
- bcarl314, on 04/03/2008, -2/+5Oh, so your saying the program Kennedy worked on in the 50s AS A SENATOR don't count? You must be a GOP gimp that doesn't research facts. Was this on Hannibal and Comes last night?
- Kral, on 04/03/2008, -1/+4 "Another poll released the same day by SurveyUSA shows Obama making more modest gains. That survey found that Clinton was still ahead by 12 points,"
- gr3yn3t, on 04/03/2008, -1/+4and Ron Paul isn't.
- inactive, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3Oh dear god...please tell me you either forgot your sarcasm tag. I seriously hope you didn't just make a comment without even looking at the video.
- purag66, on 05/13/2009, -0/+3It does. That's why statisticians get paid what they do. However, if the poll isn't conducted properly (a SRS would be ideal) then I agree with you. Most presidential polls, however, including the ones conducted by Gallup are usually less than 2000 people. This is 1500 just in PA.
- absurdist, on 04/03/2008, -1/+4Not all Americans. Just a handful of us. You, for one.
- Vodka2389, on 04/03/2008, -1/+4It's sarcasm, tard.
- imgstacke, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3PPP also predicted Obama's huge win in SC - they were the most accurate @ 44% Obama 24% Clinton 19% Edwards - Actual results were 55%/27%/18%.
Here's the press release that has everyones polling spreads for SC - http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_SC_Rele ...
Just because a company is not HUGE doesn't mean their methodology is inaccurate. - m4lomb, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3Hillary needs to get out of the race. She and her husband are making themselves look like asses. There is no way she is going to win the nomination.
- azpat, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3true, and interesting source there, but even that one shows Obama has gained 7 points
- PintOfGuinness, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Thats a representation of the sort of people that used to vote for Hillary.
- imgstacke, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2SurveyUSA made that chart.
- troub, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Hillary's response to the bowling thing was just pure bitch, too. Not funny for an April Fool's joke. She challenged him to a bowling contest and made fun of his score, etc. I know a lot of "working class" people who bowl for fun (or social gathering) and are *terrible* at it, and don't see the funny in mocking people for it.
