Will the party of "law and order" serve JUSTICE to one of their own?

IMPEACH - adb44, on 10/11/2007, -3/+30Find me one person who supports impeachment but NOT removal from office and I'll bake you a cake.
- n8r0n, on 10/11/2007, -11/+28New poll shows majority does not know that impeachment does not mean removal from office.
- deleo, on 10/11/2007, -6/+21Why are the Democrats in Congress so afraid to do this? The American people will support your efforts to impeach. It's time for them to go. Now go ahead and draft the articles and commence the proceedings!
- outgun, on 10/11/2007, -10/+23Only 54%?
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16"Felony obstruction of justice and perjury is not a blowjob."
HE WAS ACQUITTED. THAT MEANS NOT GUILTY. - rationalist, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15Since you present no rational, factual arguments against this position, one can only assume that you believe all liberal Democrats are right.
- faithhealer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12No, it really is 54%. You were looking at the numbers to impeach Bush. For Cheney, 54% support it, and 6% are undecided.
http://www.americanresearchgroup.com/ - gus2074, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13I used to beat on Republicans for their views. Now I welcome them, fully appreciate their dissenting opinion and feel sorry for people like you who just don't get it.

It's time for us to stop cowering in fear, take back our lost liberties and be free once again. - thedarkrabbit, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13New poll shows majority think Cheney should be impeached....
REALITY shows majority KNOW Cheney should be impeached... but just won't do anything about it. - danielsan1701, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10I'm all for getting these guys out of office, BUT:
Why is it that when polls come out showing that 41% believe Iraq was involved in 9/11 or that 20% believe that the sun revolves around the earth, it's "how stupid can people be?", but as soon as a poll that supports what we believe comes out, it's "clearly the masses have spoken."?
The truth is, so much stock should never put in what the majority of the people think, or the idiotic things that some people think. These are matters of fact that should not be polled on. They are not matters of perspective. These are supported by evidence, and are true, regardless of what anyone may think, feel or opine about it. The earth revolves around the sun, there is no evidence connecting Iraq and 9/11, and the Bush administration has got to go. - cplusplus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9impeached? No.
Imprisoned is more like it. - swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Yes, Americans are all "Moon bats." Every one of us. You should probably welcome your new "Moon bat" overlords. We can't stop here, this is "Moon bat" country!
- nixoru, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8The atrocities committed by Bush, Cheney, et al are far worse than anything Clinton ever did when he was in office. I'm getting really bored with these impeachment submissions, though. Bush and Cheney will continue to make Congress their bitch unless something is actually done to stop them/have them removed from office. Actions speak louder than words.
Come on men! To the White House! We march at the first light of day!
/lol - notque, on 10/11/2007, -8/+15Impeach Dick now! Universal Health care for all! End trade agreements that lower all of our wages by putting us into competition with people without labor rights! - Lister169, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I don't recall.
- HarryManback, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11New poll reveals that everyone is tired of hearing about getting ready to get ready to impeach Bush/Cheney.
- rationalist, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7We will check back with cdnyny in coming weeks as public opinion continues its persistent trend.
- faithhealer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The pardoncheney website is a fake.
- ThunderFalcon, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Impeachment does mean removal from office, it just has to get passed from the House and the Senate, for the removal to occur
both Andrew Johnson and Clinton have been impeached, but not removed from office because the vote was only passed in the House and not the Senate... and hey if we can try to impeach for lying about a blowjob, then we must also try to impeach for lying about war and threats - whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+5The belief in evolution poll also sprang to mind.
Of course, there's a big difference. No amount of voting or opinion can actually change the laws of the universe. In contrast, the president/vp can be impeached and removed from office if enough people want it. - romistrub, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Where the hell did all the reasonable republicans go?! Are they all out to spew moronic nonsense, or is there any republican left that has a point to make?!
- 3adkied, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Actually, at this point I think an impeachment is even more important than removal from office. At this point, whether this goes forward or not, removal from office will probably be at the end of the term. The biggest advantage is that it will force investigations, subpoenas and sworn testimony. These are the things that have been severely lacking from this White House. Cheney in particular has made this administration more secretive than any before it. We're not just talking about keeping classified information from the public. We're talking about keeping everything from everyone - no oversight from the courts, the public, congress either as a whole or individual committees. They have repeatedly insisted on their right to keep everything secret that they want from whomever they want. Democracy can't survive in these circumstances. The only way left to find out what our own government is doing is to impeach and let congressional investigations compel them to provide documents and sworn testimony.
A resignation would supply the removal from office, but not the much more important truth that an impeachment could provide. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The high number of Democrats that did vote for the illegal war is only another indicator that the Democratic Party as a whole is not "left" leaning. Are there a handful of left leaning Democrats? Yes. Is the Democratic Party leftist? Not by a long shot.
- Namakemono, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Great, now I have the Imperial March theme in my head.
- FanofFilm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body formally levels charges against a high official of government. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office; it comprises only a formal statement of charges, akin to an indictment in criminal law, and thus is only the first step towards possible removal. Once an individual is impeached, he or she must then face the possibility of conviction via legislative vote, which then entails the removal of the individual from office.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeach - grooviekenn, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8the irony of outlaw1 saying that Bush didn't break any laws is.... well.. cute
- rr12, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Just because he can't get a blowjob doesn't mean he's unimpeachable.
- 3adkied, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4except during impeachment, when the Chief Justice presides over the Senate. Kind of neat how our founding fathers thought of these things, huh?
- notque, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Then organize for what you care about.
- willk281, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5who are the "think Cheney"? They must like impeachment...
- rationalist, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I, Robot
- CasaDeQueso, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3innocent?
- CourtesyFlush, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Democrats don't want highly publicized hearings where opposition to their claims and accusations can be voiced.
Their complicity in starting the war will be highly emphasized by the other side of the aisle.
It's best for them to just sit back, listen to the bitching and wait for elections. - milliebubba, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6This was a weak video. Elizabeth de la Vega's U.S. V. BUSH ET. AL sets out a strong indictment against Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, and Powell for violating Title 18 and joining in a conspiracy to defraud the citizens and Congress on the Iraq thing. She makes it clear that fraud consists not only of outright lying, but of omission of material facts relevant to giving a reasonable person the information he/she needs to make an informed decisions. Ultimately, these decisions fall on the President's shoulders, not the Vice President's. Bush could have silenced this behavior on Cheney's part. Instead, he allowed a bevy of talking heads to constantly go onto the news with this type of blather. IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN WITH IRAN, and once again, the mainstream media is just reporting official propaganda. The entire government needs to go. But impeaching Cheney won't change much. It would allow Bush to appoint someone like Fred Thompson and give the Republicans a leg up on the election of 08.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You're reading the Goerge W. poll, not Dick Cheney. 54% actually favor impeaching Dick Cheney.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5You mean Thompson the Watergate Snitch? That would be totally appropriate.
- Godzmarine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4You guys need to sign the petition.
- Authustian, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7He's what we call an accessory. Before or after the fact doesn't matter.
- faithhealer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Oh, and by the way, TheFounder is probably Roger Wehbe, the person who created pardoncheney.com, because he only submits articles from that site or other sites registered to Roger Wehbe / Yooter.
- maskidat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3@aratika It's not cute to snooze through such an important time in our history. Yoo hoo, wake up! If you don't care about the rights of others, who will care about yours when they start slipping into the abyss of The Dark Side? It's way past time to impeach these two. Dennis Kucinich is the only born leader in the political kaleidoscope, who isn't beholden to corporate interests. He was right about the neocon agenda from the beginning, and unless you're a corporate body, you'd better be paying attention and support WE THE PEOPLE!
- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -1/+3True. Though around 40% of Democrats in each chamber DID vote for it. It was hardly an impressive opposition. I wonder how those vote numbers would turn out if you counted only Senators and Reps who are still in office today.
- creoderiot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2srsly "moon bat"
who even says that anymore? - MikaelMN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2A bill to impeach Cheney is in the House Judiciary Committee right now and just got sent to a subcommittee for advisement.
All H. Res. 333 needs is citizen support and pressure on their Congress members.
My Representative cosigned (Keith Ellison). Has yours? - omarciddo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Like...?
- mwayne, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes, Thompson the self-admitted Watergate snitch whose actions ultimately meant nothing
- xadious, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Damn, only 54%? Scary to think that 46% are against something like that after all the insane stuff this guys been behind. Worst thing about democracy = incredibly stupid and illogical people get to participate.
- bitORlogic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2If by "imprisoned" you mean, "imprisoned while undergoing their trials, then executed for their crimes against humanity" then I agree.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Let me explain the difference to you. The first two are examples of proven falsehoods being believed to be true. If 41% of people believe a lie, the proper response is indeed "how stupid can people be?" On the other hand, this "impeachment" poll is an expression of public opinion, which uses mathematically legit methodology ("statistics") to measure what, in fact, the masses are saying. Get it?
