- jimmyjay, on 11/20/2007, -1/+49Firefighters know a rat when they see one. Whenever present, there always the first to scurry away from a fire.
- cattleprod, on 11/20/2007, -1/+31Giuliani has no real support, just some defense contractor $$$$$$. Did I mention his Dad did time for sticking up a Milkman.
- Jennica, on 11/20/2007, -2/+27My firefighter friend was telling me that no self-respected fireman would vote for Giuliani
- rolf, on 11/20/2007, -0/+25The son shouldn't be responsible for the sins of the father. Besides, Rudy's a full fledged PoS in his own right.
- PaulPi3rce, on 11/20/2007, -1/+25I'd rather have Jessica Alba run this country than Giuliani
- donsnyc, on 11/20/2007, -3/+24Giuliani has deep ties to the mob. He has a mob like mentality that goes all the way back to his childhood. And he was a nasty mayor of new york. He ***** the NYPD and FDNY many times over.
- Frei, on 11/20/2007, -2/+22How could you compare this to the swift boat? This isn't exactly breaking news. He screwed the FDNY and most New Yorkers, sometimes with a plunger, during his reign as Mayor. I'm amazed that people don't know how much he isn't liked in the tri state.
- annienyc4, on 11/20/2007, -2/+202nd! It's like NY is a vacuum. No one outside NYC has any idea who this guy is! Drives me nuts. His mayoralship was 8 years with a dark cloud over ny.
Hell, people don't even know that he had a 30% approval rating right before the towers fell. That's lower than George Bush. - ronintetsuro, on 11/20/2007, -2/+13A) Ground Zero was a crimescene, not a battlefield.
B) Firefighters were opposed to being given the same crappy equipment that almost got a lot more of them killed in the 93 bombing. Before 9/11.
C) Guiliani is a fake, and not someone you want running the country you live in. Believe it. - jellygraph, on 11/20/2007, -1/+11its the law of nature, everything comes back to bite you in the end. glad that these firefighters have the courage to dedicate the time to telling the people the truth about giuliani.
the question is, when will the us media start reporting these things, rather than having to read about it through a uk news site?
me wonders why... - krnldmp, on 11/20/2007, -1/+10Somehow I doubt you'll hear about a group of firefighters from anywhere coming out in favor of Rudy.
- Gimpishi, on 11/20/2007, -1/+10Troll much?
- mrogi, on 11/20/2007, -2/+10The Manhattan apartment set aside as a recovery location for exhausted firefighters was used by Bernie Kerik as his personal sperm palace whenever he needed to ***** a skank. Imagine the horror of all those weary firefighters who slept in that apartment when they found out they were sleeping on a mattress soaked in Kerik's cum juice. They will never forgive Giuliani for that.
- MaybellineSP, on 11/20/2007, -2/+9I was born and raised in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NY, and I went to high school 2 blocks away from the towers in 2001. I have absolutely no idea why anyone would consider Rudy to be a hero or even a "good guy" any way at all. I honestly don't think he did anything for my city, nor did he do anything productive during 9/11. He's trying to make it seem as if New Yorkers are all retards, and he was the one that showed us how to be intelligent, industrious individuals. No one from NYC, except for people that can directly profit from his connections, respect him in anyway, unless they are completely ignorant to anything that has ever been said on the news or in the papers. This guy was in charge of the biggest city in the world, who spent a huge chunk of his time at Yankees games, got cancer, divorced his wife after she stood by his side during his fight against cancer, and married his mistress. Integrity is not in his dictionary.
The only thing I have noticed to be different in my neighborhood during his time as mayor is that there have been more rich people and less poor people living in my neighborhood. This has probably been the reason why there has been less crime in my neighborhood. I highly doubt this social change had anything to do with Rudy at all. First off, Donald Trump bought a huge chunk of Manhattan and built up luxury condos that he's been selling for close to $1 million/bedroom. Trump and other wealthy real estate investors have also been buying land in the south of Harlem, which has been considered the "poor side of town". These wealthy investors have pretty much forced the poor people away, which resulted in a Manhattan full of rich people. Furthermore, Mayor Dinkins, the major before Rudy, set up a ton of policies, many of which dealt with better law enforcement. He's the reason why NYC (at least for a while) had more police officers on duty at any given time than there were US soldiers in Afghanistan.
I personally feel that Bush/Cheney have more integrity than Rudy. He really should be ashamed of himself, and if it wouldn't hurt Ron Paul's chances to become president, I would love to see Rudy to get the Republican vote, just to see him crash and burn. - laterthandawn, on 11/20/2007, -1/+8Freaking awesome.
- ronintetsuro, on 11/20/2007, -0/+6Fun Fact: Guiliani's campaign flights are mostly financed by the same casino kingpin that owns quite a few Vegas joints. Very interesting.
- empraptor, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5Can I be Jessica Alba's intern when she's president? Crap am I older than Jessica Alba?
- robertml1, on 11/20/2007, -1/+6I was living here during his reign of terror over minorities in the city and was standing next to him on Canal St. when the first tower fell. America will be sorry, the same way the fools who voted for Bush are now.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+6I hate Rudy and I'm voting for Paul.
Of course, I have very sound reasons for both those opinions. Mostly because Rudy's got a ton of scandals in his history and he did an extremely ***** job of being mayor. Plus, he pretty much ***** up and made 9/11 worse than it had to be.
On the other hand, Ron Paul has a solid voting record, he's very clear on where he stands on the issues, and he's a trustworthy person, unlike Rudy who is routinely caught lying about just about everything. And none of this is opinion, it's all fact. But you probably don't believe me because I don't use such low-brow terms as "Paulnuts." - Jennica, on 11/20/2007, -3/+7they're* geez
- madcat033, on 11/20/2007, -1/+5A disgrace to the party? How about all the current republicans are a disgrace to the party? The GOP is in shambles. They are losing members left and right. They got the ***** beat out of them in the last election.
And might I ask, why do you hate Ron Paul so much? It's not even like you don't agree with him, you sound like you legitimately dislike him. What did he ever do to you? All he has ever done is fight for peace and liberty and been one of the most principled men ever to serve in our Congress. He is a straight talker and an honest man. What reason could you POSSIBLY have for disliking him so?
Then again, your screen name is leftykiller so you're probably just a ***** moron. - annienyc4, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4lovely response. Spoken like a true Giuliani fan.
oh, and...
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x1302.xml?ReleaseID=629 - inf0, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4I think shooting yourself in the head is a smarter move than voting Ghouliani!
- annienyc4, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4oh, and your picture is *after* the towers fell. My post says 30% *before* the towers fell. Let us know when you learn how to read.
- godphase3, on 11/20/2007, -3/+6The reason there were so many dead firefighters is because although the FDNY asked for new radios that would function in the towers in 1993, after the first bombing, they never recieved them and thus many firefighters did not get a chance to escape.
- annienyc4, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3because upsate NY only know that crime dropped and that the city looked more pristine, but they didn't experience how he did it.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4Weasel? You must be talking about Giuliani. Anyone who switches from the Democrat side to buy more votes is a disgrace to both parties.
You're totally right. The 8 million he's raised so far from average Americans is complete *****. What a phony guy. His voting record is a complete sham, too. - EdgarSimons, on 11/20/2007, -2/+5why is Ron Paul winning the Zogby Poll not on Digg? It have over 900 hits in 5 hours
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4Right, so you believe everything you "lived through" aside from anything negative about Giuliani.
I mean, I admit that I didn't live in NYC, so I don't really have personal experience. But most of the people from NYC that I've talked to about him ***** hated him. - gernblansted, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3I think they are probably more upset about the fact that they are dying from lung disease as a result of the cleanup, and have been left out to dry. I've known a few FDNY personal and they seem like a pretty conservative bunch to me. It doesn't matter what your political views are, if you have been screwed you are pissed.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4I already did, up above. In fact, it was in response to the first episode of namecalling that you posted.
- addakorn, on 11/21/2007, -0/+2Never voted, eh?
- Coded1, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2slow current
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3Article? Are you talking about my comment? Are you too dumb to know the difference between an article and a comment on Digg?
I guess that's a pretty rhetorical question, since you're obviously a Rudy supporter. - empraptor, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2My left and right hands. Qualified to be in Jessica Alba while she's in presidential seat.
- SabrinaHeaven, on 11/20/2007, -2/+4So I guess Giuliani is going to be our next President. Then we can look forward to eight more years of "I hate the President" wailing.
If he does get elected, I'm going to do everything I can to leave the country. But not to get away from Giuliani--to get away from Americans period. - ChimpFlix, on 11/20/2007, -2/+4And how do they feel about Ron Paul? It would be stellar if these guys would come out as a group and throw their support behind RP.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3Wow, Rudy supporters have the dumbest reasons for supporting him. From "The Case for Rudy":
"Aside from Fred Thompson he is the only candidate from either side that has the ability to instill fear in our enemy."
Ignoring the fact that anyone scared by Fred Thompson probably watches too much TV, this sentence is basically stating "I don't understand that the US is in the ***** it is in because of its foreign policies, but we need to keep bullying the world."
"Even the enemy recalls how Rudy responded with a cool head on September 11."
I'm not sure where they got that from, but from what I remember of Rudy's "response," he ran around the city like he didn't know where the ***** he was going, and he spent a whole lot of time putting himself in front of TV cameras.
"There is some symbolism associated with putting the former New York Mayor in our highest national office as well. New York City was attacked twice and numerous plots to harm the city have been thwarted since. It's clear the terrorists have set NYC as their primary target and putting the public face of 9-11 in the White House will send a definite signal that we understand that."
Wow, that's a pretty irrelevant reason to elect our nation's president. "Symbolism," that's got to be one of the lamest reasons I've ever heard for supporting a candidate. Aside from that, I tend to think people think about the events of 9/11 way too much. Maybe they wouldn't be so pissed off about it if they just tried moving on with their lives. Seriously, if it was such a horrible thing, why do so many people want to dwell on it so much?
"Rudy's abortion stance IS bothersome, it's not enough to say you are against it personally but won't stand in the way of those wanting one. He'll get the crossover votes with this stance so chalk this issue up to pragmatism.
Multiple marriages? Not ideal either but here again the crossover Democrats won't hold that against him, it plays into their ideology.
Rudy Giuliani is a proven crime fighter, pro military, but best of all he is not Shrill-Hil."
So, we've got "terrorism," police state, and "he's not Hillary." Wow, that's the best they can do? Seriously, there isn't a single good argument for Giuliani there. Sure, he's not Hillary, but Rudy's the one candidate that could possibly be EVEN WORSE. - rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3You believe everything the media tells you, huh?
- Tetraca, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3I would rather have a rock run this country than Jessica Alba.
- MaybellineSP, on 11/20/2007, -1/+31) Sadly, most people are afraid to speak up, so you'll never really see this. If Rudy becomes president, then these people who have the courage to protest will most likely suffer the wrath of Rudy, like many NYPD/NYFD employees did during his time as mayor.
2) The fact that he's best friends with a child molester should normally be enough to have him excluded from any kind of important job. However, these firefighters are trying to tell the whole world that Rudy is a dishonest person, and a crooked politician by exposing his failures as mayor of the biggest city in the world. Why bother attacking his personality when they can just prove he's a terrible leader? - benkrembs, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3Although it won't play nice with the popular mob mentality of "Giulaini is the sux0r", here's a group of firefighters who support him: http://firefightersforgiuliani.blogspot.com/
- waydee, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2Good! Lets just hope they mention 911 enough to sway the American voters away from this evil bastard, just look at the man! Slimy, sleazy looking liar.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2Another stellar post from an obvious Rudy fan.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -2/+3I agree that Rudy is worse than Bush and Cheney. But I sure as hell do not want that man to have even the slightest chance of making it into office, that's just too much risk.
There are a lot of dumb Americans out there that actually support him. - Observant1, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2guiliani is a traitor, get over it.
- Tweekster, on 11/20/2007, -0/+1Broken window policy. People hate it, but it works
- Frei, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2Maybe just maybe you should RTFA and do a minute or two of research on the matter.
- scoobydoo84, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2schoolbusterror,
Speaking of traitors, have you spoken to W or Cheney or anyone at the White House lately!! Supporting Giuliani is an act of treason against this nation, and you deserve gitmo!! - NDzImpy, on 11/20/2007, -1/+2Awesome, go America! ***** Ghouliani-
