Nice rant! And like any good rant, almost everything you said was wrong:
1. Iran IS democratic so they're not killing entire families for supporting democracy
2. Their people aren't starving. . .that's North Korea douchebag
3. Although it may not be true about the government, the people of Iran are pro Western
4. Iran, a Shiite country, probably isn't supporting Al-Quaeda, which is run by Sunnis. (I'm not sure if you heard but Sunnis and Shiites don't like one another)
5. Hamas and Hezbollah are bad news. . .if you live in Israel. but when was the last time Hamas or Hezbollah blew up something in America. (the answer is never)
In conclusion, you sir are a *****. Stop getting your international news from Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage. - littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -9/+71@stepcousin
Quoting from Silencer7 below, who said it quite well:
What miserable *****.
-Iran is entitled under the terms of the nonproliferation treaty (to which it is a signatory) to enrich uranium and build reactors.
-Ahmadinejad's alleged quote about 'wiping Israel off the map' is an intentional mistranslation and doesn't mean anything military.
-Iran hasn't begun a war against any nation in a century.
-No one has any proof of an Iranian nuclear weapons program. Go on, find me something real.
-Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons and has never signed any nuclear treaty. - littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -12/+65"Every other major war we have fought was fought with more intensity and much more violence."
Ask the Iraqi people if they agree with this or if they care. The minute it was YOUR child or loved one killed, you'd be singing a different tune.
Oh and BTW, Iran has been the goal from the start, aside from Iraq's oil.
Mark my words, we WILL strike. We have become sheep and we won't stop it.
Our Leaders do what they want. Period.
We could have prevented this. Iran wanted to talk long ago.
Cheney didn't want to. - littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -4/+543 Wars from one President. There's something to be happy about. Iran is going to be a can of worms beyond what many imagine.

Iran IS a threat to Israel's plans to annex occupied territory. As a regional power, Iran could pressure Israel to go back to the Green Line.
It's up to you: Is it worth another disastrous war to give Israel the power to annex land behind The Wall? Is it worth putting your children into tax slavery? - dukeeeey, on 10/11/2007, -22/+63http://www.hermes-press.com/germany1930.htm

Yeah, I guess Operation Ajax, where the US overthrew Iranian Prime Minister Mossadegh in1953, sure wasn't "America's fault", was it? Since you brought up FDR, Kermit Roosevelt Jr., grandson of Theodore Roosevelt and relation of FDR, was the CIA leader of Ajax...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Ajax - darkmule, on 10/11/2007, -9/+45Its not about liberals being stupid....
It wont matter who gets into the office republican or democratic. They're all mostly neo-conservatives anyway, so they'll carry out neo-conservative agendas.
Cheney is a scary bastard, but there isn't much we can do about it. (Since no one is willing to attempt to do anything about it). That Impeachment bill is creeping along though.
A military strike on Iran will only worsen the situation in Iraq. We currntly have the Turkish running around in Northern Iraq. In eastern Iraq we have elite Iranian groups running around doing their thing. Iran may or may not be attempting to make nukes, it will take them several years to do it, if thats the case.
We *DONT* have the military power to attack Iran. Attacking Iran via air will send the Iranian military into Iraq. Iraq will be their battle front. It will give insurgents a backing too, and warp it from a civil war back into a war against Americans. The Iranians, unlike the Iraqi insurgents actually have a Navy. Which means our large amounts of navy warships (along with British and other countries) will be at risk to Naval Iranian attacks. *They* will strike back.
We're on the verge of a cold war with Russia again, lets be honest about that. Russia is good friends with Iran, Russia does have a military. Who else is with fairly good terms with Iran? Oh.. .. Who is it? China, thats right.
Attacking Iran would militarily be the biggest mistake the American government could make over the next five years.
Who we elect wont matter. Iran is a threat yes, but a lot more damage will be done by attacking them, when we could wait and try to find an alternative route. In fact, there is an alternative route, its called *actually talking to countries to attempt to solve problems, rather than just attacking them without talking to them at all*
Lets try to pull our heads out of our ass here.
We're no longer at a state of 'stupid liberals' 'stupid conservatives' that ***** doesn't matter.
At the rate we're going, if Americans ever got unlazy, we could easily be on the verge of our own civil war - littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -10/+45The fact that "Ahmad-whatever-it-is" is in power in the first place is the fault of our own dumb-ass Administration. - tradjik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16"what right does "Israel" have to exist on Arab land?"
It is not that easy. The whole area has been turned over and over by different people. The area of Israel has been overlooked by:
Kingdom of Egypt
Kingdom of Israel
Assyrian Empire
Babylonian Empire
Persian Empire
Macedonian Empire
Roman Empire
Byzantine Empire
Sassanid Empire
The Caliphate
Seljuk Empire
The Crusader Kingdoms
Saladin's Empire
Ottoman Empire
European Colonialism
So how do we pick who own the land? Besides, if we used "who owns what land" then Europe, North and Central America, and many other nations who drove out native populations would cease to exist.

- thatsmyaibo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16"LOL! I don't believe Iran is a democracy. . .Iran IS a democracy. This my friend is called a fact."
I disagree actually. My father left Iran in the 70s because of the rise of religious government. The government you see now may be elected in a way that appears to be a democracy, but the religious zealots are the ones that run that puppet government.
Iran does fund terrorism and they don't hide it. It's actually in their government budget (not directly but is sourced through groups). I don't think Iran should give up their nuclear program, but they need to play by the rules. Let inspectors in and stop acting shady before it is too late.
In talks of military action against Iran, I believe it would be a big mistake. Personally I think talks of military action (as the US does not hide talks of military action from the press) is just to put pressure on their government. Hopefully everything will be resolved peacefully. But make no mistake, Iran isn't an innocent country. I've heard stories from family that still live there that they went from a very friendly country that had a great tourism industry that welcomed the west to religious fanatics and laws that should have been thrown away hundreds of years ago.
And to those that compared the US to Nazi Germany...grow up. The government might show similarities, but the Nazis were very strong followers of their leader and were shot dead if they weren't. I don't think the citizens of the US believe in a new world order. - gazwilwah, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15Has Iran actually threatened the USA in anyway at all? Does the USA now have the right to attack any country on the planet it doesnt like?
The Arabs call America "the great satan", Is it any wonder. - vertinox, on 10/11/2007, -6/+19@dliberty
I dunno. Surely the Iranians have thought this out. If by chance they did build a bomb and put it on a missile and shoot it at Israel, before it even gets half way, Israel would launch its counter attack and reciprocate the attack resulting in 90 million dead Iranians.
Surely, this concept of MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) has not eluded the Iranians.
More than not, I do believe the concept of LWHTS (Look What Happened To Saddam) has smacked them straight in the face and are under no illusions that the only real way to prevent an US attack is to actually have nuclear weapons like say... North Korea. - ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -20/+33There are things more evil than Cheney, hard to believe I know.

- tradjik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I can see all of our generals smacking their foreheads thinking "great, another front"
While I think the U.N. is weak (too many countries are getting goods from Iran to be strict about any resolution) there is no way we should cowboy-up and go alone again. The whole 'stitch in time saves nine' mantra used for Iraq is not a good idea here.
With embargoes hitting the Iranian people Ahmadinejad is losing popularity. Iran has oil, but has to export it to other countries since their refining capacity is too low to support their own people. The rising prices of gas, food, basic necessities is making the average citizen of Iran look around and wonder if a 'peaceful' nuclear plant is worth it with people starving.
It seems that the citizens of both countries want nothing to do with war, however the leaders of both our nations are having a pissing contest. I say we just gather up those leaders who do want war and let them go at it WWE/UFC style - leave the rest of us out of it. - redrock34, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Article 152 of the Iranian Constitution

I wouldn't want to be Dick Cheney when I meet my Maker. - HexeL, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Working on the assumption that Iran not only is working for the bomb, but actually has it; who cares?
It would not change a damn thing in the Middle East. Those Mullahs aren't going to commit national suicide by dropping the bomb on Israel or someone else. These aren't aliens people; they have the same love of life you and I do. Understand that suicide bombers are persons who've been submitted to extreme amounts of propaganda and brainwashing, and the Mullahs don't fit the bill.
Iran having the bomb would be the best thing for America. There needs to be a balance of power in the world. Our country is out of control, starting wars all over the world. Someone needs to put the MIC in check. I honestly thank God for China and the balance they bring. Hopefully Russia can reassert itself without retreating into communism. - 80hd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10I don't really care anymore.
