- Njon, on 02/05/2009, -5/+66Anyone who agrees with this resolution, contact every one of your states' legislators and educate them on the tyranny of the federal government, and explain how they absolutely MUST stand up to the feds. Recommend that they watch "America: Freedom to Fascism" at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-165688030 ... (caution: contains some offensive content) and "Fiat Empire" at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5232639329 ...
We need to get this info into their hands. If the republic is to be saved, the state and local level is the place to do it. - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -5/+58For States to be doing this there is no doubt the Federal government has become an illegal government.
- Janinco, on 02/05/2009, -5/+56Thanks for posting this. A friend was telling me about this tonight and he mentioned Arizona is doing this as well!
- YankeeAvenger, on 02/05/2009, -5/+47As a lifelong resident of the Peoples Republic of Mass. where our present govenor is little more than an Obamanation clone, I have long wanted to move to the state where "Live free or die." was more than just an license plate slogan. It has been difficult as my wife and I are both business owners, but as both businesses are thriving (no thanks to (Bush/Obama), a move is now on the horizon. For my many friends on this board who have no use for the two tweedledum tweedledee parties and love liberty as given us by our founding fathers, check out http://www.freestateproject.org./ If you agree with their ideas but a move to N.H. is impractical, mention the site to like-minded friends. If free state project is successful in N. H., other states may follow.
- Dawgem, on 02/05/2009, -5/+43God bless New Hampshire.
Truly, live free or die.
"What will you do without freedom?" "They can take our lives but they can't take our freedom". William Wallace, Braveheart. - naderventura, on 02/05/2009, -5/+37bump for http://www.dailypaul.com/
- txballoonman, on 02/05/2009, -3/+34I'm on my way to the NH Statehouse to give my support to this resolution. The meeting starts in 1 1/2 hours! Liberty or Death!
- chiefquanah, on 02/05/2009, -3/+33Great article and God Bless Ok, AZ, NH and MO ... they all deserve our backing. Hopefully this has a snowball effect and other states take a similar stance. If nothing else at least maybe we get a bit of control back that has been usurped by the federal gov't. Those politicians in Washington have forgotten who they server and who is their employer.
At least a few politicians are begining to wake up and smell the roses.
One other thing they should add or change though ~ we need to stop federal taxation of income and move that to the states. The state then shoud provide funding to the US Gov't only for those specific needs granted to the fed by the states as was the original intent of becoming the United States.
States = We The People. - silentboom, on 02/05/2009, -6/+33Ron Paul!
- djmdjm, on 02/05/2009, -3/+29It is a good thing to officially recognize a problem. The next step however is to put a plan in place as to how to deal with it. States need to set up accounts or pledges from it’s citizens to care for the families of jailed officials who did not submit to an unconstitutional directives of a federal court. They need to occasionally run a federal judge out of their state. They need to have accounts that federal officials do not have access to so that a fine cannot be imposed on the state. They need to publicly deny the universally held falsehood of judicial supremacy in matters of the constitution. I don’t have time to articulate this accurately, but well laid out simple plans will win this battle without anyone have to come within a million miles of firing a shot. You cannot expect a few state officials and citizens to sacrifice everything to accomplish a roll back of federal intrusions. It takes a significant minority of citizens prepared to pitch in and prevent the point men and women who are going to take allot of heat from falling into total personal disaster. People will sacrifice if they can see a reasonable chances of success.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 02/05/2009, -4/+27Folks, this is just the beginning. Keep on fighting for freedom. Contrary to the fixed polls, most Americans are very very sick and tired of the ***** that comes from D.C. and what is done in our names. Live and die with dignity by supporting truth and freedom!
- Foxprowl, on 02/05/2009, -5/+27I live in Portsmouth, NH. We're already gearing up for a civil war.
- Joecalderone, on 02/05/2009, -4/+26Thank you WND! The major media will not print this story! Grassfire.org is covering this radical uprising as we speak! Many states are adding to the list. This is big!
- henri3, on 02/05/2009, -3/+24Ron Pauls New HR 833 Act, to abolish the boards of Govener's of the federal Reserve system and the Federal Reserve bank, to repeal the Fed. Rers. act and other purposes. WOW!! People are finally Waking Up!! I want my country back,Do You? call, email and write your congressman and tell them you want your state to have a Sovereignty Resolution bill NOW!!!
- sam1231, on 02/05/2009, -4/+24I'm from Texas, own a ranch, and it almost makes me want to move to OK--Almost!! But seriously, this issue requires immediate and well thought out action. If the freedom loving citizens of this nation do not stand up to the power grab that is under way, we can all kiss the Good ole' USA goodbye. Right now, the Fed can do almost anything to anyone with the power allowed by the Patriot Act--it was bad enough in the hands of Bush--But now, who knows!!!! The Patriot Act was and is VERY BAD LEGISLATION--no matter which party is in charge--it is simply too much power to weild by too few people!! There is absolutely NO oversight by the people!! All they have to do is involk the phrase 'National Security' and everyone has to back off and do as they say. Its as close to Martial Law as you can get, without actually seeing troops on every street corner and living in our homes--Believe me when I say IT IS COMING if we do not do something really significant NOW!!! Pintojack is right--most states are addicted to the money that flows thru the Fed. I'm afraid that with Obama's attempt to purchase all the votes he will ever need with universal health care, bailouts, amnesty for illegals, etc; that he will become unstoppable if something is not done NOW to curb or eliminate this power grab by the Fed. This is the single most important issue we face--bar none!!!!!! If they can take our guns, then they can take our right to religion, our right to speak, and ultimately our right to live at all!!! Read the writings of the Founding Fathers--they were more concerned with the courts becoming the most powerful branch of Gov, that they intentionally designed it to be the weakest. The right to keep and bear arms was not for hunting, or protection from natives--IT was to protect us from a government run amuck. The idea was that the citizens were to have the same firepower as the militia, thus the militia would be very reluctant to turn on the people. Read their own words, hear their own concerns!! We are being lied to every time these people open their mouths--if they are talking they are lying, and the media is right there with them every step. One last thing, and probably the most important thing, PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!!!!
- mozarker, on 02/05/2009, -3/+20This makes me proud to be living in Missouri. I read the Missouri resolution on DailyPaul last night and it almost made me weep. I'm contacting my state rep to be sure he's going to support this.
- CasaWood, on 02/06/2009, -0/+15Sent to everyone of my representatives in the state thanks to Nick Gausling (DIGGer) who put together every email address in cut & paste format that works great with email programs. Check out Nick's efforts! Thank you Nick!!! http://reformedapologian.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_a ...

Dear Utah Representatives,
There are several States that have had some of their legislatures take the bold step of introducing resolutions affirming State's rights based on Jeffersonian principles. We need you to help join in this effort with New Hampshire, Washington, Arizona, and Oklahoma in a bid to remind our Federal Government it is the People and the States who grant certain enumerated powers to them. Follow each of the links above to read what your peers are doing to protect our U.S. Constitution. The State of Utah has a proud heritage of distinguished leaders, such as Ezra Taft Benson and W. Cleon Skousen, who were defenders and teachers of the heritage that is our Federalist Republic.
I will be honored to hear from any of you who are willing to proudly lead Utah in joining this important movement. We will feature all those sponsoring this type of legislation on our weekly radio talk show. It is my sincere desire to read the names of the Utah Representatives who draft and introduce legislation here. It would be even more of an honor to associate with the first State to pass the legislation. How proud of a moment in Utah history would that day be? - ravedigger, on 02/05/2009, -1/+16I am also from MA and plan on moving to NH as soon as possible. NH is the only US state that doesn't require you to wear a seatbelt. I do choose to wear my seatbelt in NH, but the fact that I get to make that choice speaks volumes.
- techengineer, on 02/06/2009, -2/+17Let's roll! These Reds are clearly out to undermine and destroy our Constitution. America is not big enough for me and all of these liberal Reds.
- djmdjm, on 02/05/2009, -2/+17Actually no. I've just strategized about that subject in my head over the years. Never even wrote anything down. I did not think any states would ever take any significant steps like this. Maybe we will have to come up with something. I am a working preacher so I don't have allot of spare time. I think allot more about how to get the Christians in this country off their apocalyptic viewpoints that hinder them from working with God to get the nation back to sanity.
- RonPauls, on 02/05/2009, -3/+17RON PAUL 2012
If there isn't a war before then (of course, Ron Paul would transform into Stonewall Paul) - YankeeAvenger, on 02/05/2009, -2/+16Well said, djmdjm! In addition to the sites that naderventura and me listed in this thread, do you have any suggestions? Education is always the key and best preventative measure.
- Njon, on 02/06/2009, -0/+13For anyone who wants to start an e-mail campaign as mentioned above, here is an e-mail format-friendly list of the addresses of many of the state legislators across the country; about 35 states' info posted thus far. They don't all work, but most of them do.
Just copy + paste into an e-mail, write a letter talking about these important issues, and tailor it for whatever state you're sending to, and go for it. Another thing I recommend bringing up is how the states MUST restore their historic militias; see http://digg.com/political_opinion/Dr_Edwin_Vieira_ ... for more information (and check out Dr. Vieira's article archive on NewsWithViews for more info on the militia). Here is the address list:
http://reformedapologian.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_a ...
It's probably a good idea to pace yourself though and just take two or three states per day; we certainly don't want anyone to get in trouble for allegedly 'spamming.'
Anyway, with this, you can be effective in getting this info out to state legislators all across the country, even in states other than your own. - sigg14, on 02/05/2009, -5/+16so the constitution is anti-American? ***** moron
- emmettgolf, on 02/06/2009, -1/+12Please help try to get California to follow suit. Many of the counties are talking revolt already. Contact your local state Senators and Assembly members.
- Striker101, on 02/06/2009, -0/+10At least this may be a partial way out of this mess.
- djmdjm, on 02/05/2009, -2/+12I am all for that. A national sales tax. I am a contractor and pay the state and city sales tax every month. It would be so simple to add a federal document to that. It would save untold amounts of time and labor dealing with tax compliance. Also the price of everything would drop probably 30-40% because of the taxation built into the cost of everything. So it would not mean everything would rise in price but it would stay the same. I'm not talking value added taxes though. That is as hideous as the income tax. Yes: and pay the federal one to the states so the feds can collect from them. That way it would eliminate all this feds controlling the states through monetary handouts.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -3/+13First, take the media. Maybe over coffee.
- kemp34, on 02/05/2009, -3/+13It's actually called "seceding". And nowhere in this legislation is anything having to do with bigotry.
- jaymzdean, on 02/05/2009, -2/+11Being an American, above all else, is possessing certain principles, none of which twitchr has.
Without those principles, you're anti-American (twitchr).
A feverish, nazi-style, unconditional love for government-rule-at-any-cost is not on the list, by the way. - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -1/+10No, it HAS become an illegal government.
Nice 1987 PBS documentary on it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sstDwKTCpM&eur ... - inactive, on 02/05/2009, -4/+12LOL!!! Maybe twitchr thinks this is about Obama being black.. How out of touch do you have to be to come up with that..
- qwikk, on 02/06/2009, -0/+8We are? I mean, we are!
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -2/+10They can't bully the states around as long as the states can have a constitutional convention of their own and 'fix the problem.' No federal regulation on the matter should be considered relevant.
- Foxprowl, on 02/06/2009, -0/+8We're meeting in Manch Vegas. Viva La Revolution!
- Dawgem, on 02/05/2009, -7/+14Ron Paul AND Alan Keyes.
- chiefquanah, on 02/05/2009, -5/+12twitchr: I so hope you are talking about the feds and not the NH legislature..
- btsnap96, on 02/06/2009, -1/+8On every New Hampshire license plate: "Live Free or Die".
That says it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Sonan, on 02/05/2009, -1/+7Your post makes me wish I could vote up or down on a line-by-line basis.
- inactive, on 02/05/2009, -5/+10AMEN!
- deity, on 02/07/2009, -0/+5The one thing that hurt states rights more than anything else was allowing the election instead of appointment of senators. Senators now are more beholden to their political parties than they are the states they are supposed to represent.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -1/+5Grassfire rocks.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -1/+5It would be better if California would just split into two or three states.
- Antarcticn, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Thugs-in-criminal-godvernment have been applying anti-USA pressures on We The Victimized Sheeple, and are relentlessly doing so now. This movement/revolt to the fed-mafia's repugnant pugnaciousness is only one way to push back. It's a good step.
As you say, "at least this may be a partial way out of this mess." We The People must apply more counter-pressures as well as relentless pressures of our own against global elitist-owned proxies & stooges in Washington/CESSPOOL, DC that the rockefeller-rothschild anti-USA bankster mafia controls. - Antarcticn, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3Ironic. Big Brother criminal godvernment being soooo heinous that little brother godvernment criminals protest. Too tragic to be funny. The silver lining is the hope embodied such State legislation.
- Antarcticn, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3AZ, WA, MO and now OK are doing this. All 50 (or is it 59 as obamassiah said) states must do this. If (all) states secede from the the federal-mafia criminal godvernment-gone-wild, that would force a confrontation and day of reckoning. Washington/CESSPOOL, DC parasites would unleash their hounds of war and WMDs upon We The Severely Victimized American Sheeple. We all would know exactly where we stand with those parasitic life-sucking ghouls. The mindless masses need desperately to face such a life-threatening moment of crisis and profound Truth.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -1/+4The free state project was a good idea but it has gone wrong. What was founded in liberty became just an excuse to hate Bush, oppose the war, and light up. What a joke it is now.
- sigg14, on 02/07/2009, -0/+2this is not about any states seceding, just reaffirming states rights over federal governments rights. Its right there in the constitution, the tenth amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." we should not even have to go through any resolutions to reinstate what is and always has been the LAW of the land. the federal government has grown so far over its constitutional boundaries it is disgusting, and fools like you who think that just because things are the way they are that is the way they are supposed to be.
maybe try and read what you are commenting about and you won't come off as such an ignorant ***** - Antarcticn, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2One suggestion: turn OFF all TVs. They make you measurably dumber if you watch mainstream propaganda networks and mindless & meaningless 'reality TV' tripe.
Use that re-gained time to hunt for Truth. Educate yourself. Network with other Truth seekers. And if anyone tries belittling it as "Oh, no! Don't tell me you're one of those stupid 'troofers'!" tell 'em "Piss off, mate! You're obviously foe, not friend." - Antarcticn, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2Sorry to differ, preacher, but the federal-mafia criminal godvernment's thugs-in-suits crave double taxes or no-changes. Their racket, indeed their livelihood is economic enslavement; which begets political serfdom -- you'd better be beholding to MY political party, or else! It's a double whammy for them: economic + political. They'll never give up one tax for another. They'll wheedle & finagle, con & squeal like the stuck pigs they are to hook & crook We The Severely Dumbed-Down American Sheeple into both/all taxes. Every time. History proves it.
