- rewinn, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1You got that right! The original GI bill would put you through professional school (e.g. doctor, lawyer) if you had the academic chops. This bill goes only for a batchelor's which is not nothing, but functionally it does what a high-school degree used to --- make you employable in most firms. The original GI Bill built this great nation in the 1950s + 60s; the new one will at least slow our slide.
