- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+56This isn't about tracking illegal aliens. We already have social security numbers. A national ID card is to track you wherever you go. They may begin by saying it is just for immigrants or workers from other nations but the plan is to stamp us all.
- cywar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40The Debate--> They lied---the Real ID act is not just for non-citizens. Please take the time to read the bill. You will see that they want us all to have one. The only thing they are not sure about yet is what kind of BIOMETRIC identifiers they want to use. It will also have an RFID chip embedded. That my fellow citizens is a threat to our freedoms.
This handy card, you will be required to carry on your person at all times. If "they" want to know where you are, all they will have to do is punch your number in ===> Hitler would have loved it, he had to do a manual search of tattoos and depend on informants to find out what his citizens were up to. - blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -6/+35And the smear campaign of Ron Paul by the establishment begins...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Think holocaust tatoos. Herd you like cattle.
- FALSEFLAG, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Why aren't any other major Presidential candidates addressing the questionable intentions behind the National ID Act?
Also, why aren't they openly discussing the North American Union, and the NAFTA super highway?
It feels like America is being torn apart from within. - fantasticFlan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Yeah, I love when they're re-tasking satellites on the fly and zooming and rotating low-res, still images. The NSA is real, fiction is fiction.
- JoCliMe, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19The rapture can happen any moment...say it happened as soon as I post this...then the bill is passed tomorrow...it'd still work out.
- fantasticFlan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Enemy of Sate was science fiction set in the present.
- jsffive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Why do I NEED a National ID Card?
For that matter, why does the government need to know who I am at all?
Let me get this straight 19 foreigners attack my nation, and now I have to identify myself?
The problem is that the pussies have taken over the country.
.................................... - BuffalOBisoN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14If Dr. Paul is an end-time apocalypse believing Christian, I don't really care. I am a non-believer that supports his positions of a non-interventionist foreign policy and a very limited federal government. He advocates the abolition of the Federal Reserve, the income tax and the 'War On (Some) Drugs'. I support all of these positions that the vast majority of the candidates fail to even mention. So if Dr. Paul believes Jesus will appear in the clouds one day and I do not, who cares? Until then we will be united in the American ideal that we mind our own business and spread our liberty through example not coercion.
- vguard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12You don't have to be a believer to see that we're slowly and meticulously being put in to a vice grip of control. (I'm an atheist who just doesn't want to end up a global corporate slave.) It's not hard to see that the guys "behind the curtain" have well very crafted agenda that they're imposing by stealth.
- BonerMachine, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16This story seems to be implying that simply because Paul is working with these people, he somehow believes in this Rapture *****. I'm not so sure that's the case in reality, at least not from any evidence presented in this article. Paul is a major advocate of a separation between Church and State, so wouldn't it be more likely that he has allied with this group to work towards a common goal?
While I think it's clearly crazy to believe this legislation was foretold in some Biblical prophecy, it's still not a good idea. Paul is concerned about our rights and the abuse of government power, not about mythical creatures. - WraythX, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15The Rapture is an invention of an Irish minister in the Plymouth Brethren and was invented in 1830. It amazes me that so many "Christians" believe in these silly modern doctrines. St Paul said "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema." How do the modern protestants believe both the rapture and that quote from the Letter to the Galatians?
- WilliamDavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8So, The Smear Campaign Begins...
"The public deserves to know about Paul's links to Endtime."
Funny, but the article never really talks about links. It just implies they are there.
People can think this is a bad idea for whatever reason. Uhhh.... it's still a bad idea, so I'll still agree with them that it's a bad idea. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Why would anyone need a national ID card?
bleh..
stupid evil idea.
RON pwns. - acex23, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13see here's the thing. Someone who believes in something you don't can still be rational.
Nobody argues that Ghandi was rational despite his religious beliefs, would it have been different if he had been a christian? - RoundysSince, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"Political language -- and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists -- is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind." - George Orwell
They say what you want to hear, they're not interested in truth and fairness, they want your vote. - davesbrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The government has been looking for a way to do this for years, look at SSN. 9-11-01 simply gave them the excuse they needed to force it upon us all, in the name of security, of course.
- moogle516, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Drivers Licensce, Social Security Card, or Passport
- CkMaverick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Because Hollywood is the definitive source of what the real world is like...
- acex23, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8which is further saying if they don't abide with your definition of "irrational" their beliefs are void.
- vguard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Actually, this isn't as crazy as it sounds. The New World Order is part of a 400+ year plan for world domination, created by European Oligarchy. The same guys who came up with "the plan", also wrote the King James Bible.
Domesticating and training humans is an age old art. - hamish, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7this is off topic, but i saw a bunch of fan created ron paul stickers in downtown boise tonight.. it got me all excited
- JWav3, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15They are wrong. The mark of the beast doesn't come around till after the rapture.
..but why wait to dis on REAL ID? We need to get rid of that law. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If we are herded like cattle, will it be cool like THX 1138? Everyone's head shaven. White uniforms. An assigned job to do. Drugs to take. Government as father and mother. Robot police.
- Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10at least Catholics don't believe in the Rapture. Silly idea, that. Jesus has never treated the 'good' better over the bad sinners, never seperated people, and never gave any indication of such an action.
Revelations as a whole is just a story, not intended to talk about the end of the world, rather, talk about some bad things going on _in the time it was written_.
Even then, they knew 'stamping everyone' was a bad idea and led to a lot of problems (as described as 'the end of the world'). Like much of the bible, when read correctly, applies well even today. In this case, it's not "ZOMG national ID cards means the end of the world is coming", it's more along the lines of "ZOMG national ID cards means the end of the world is coming (figuratively)". - bratpack8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"The establishment clause of the First Amendment was simply intended to forbid the creation of an official state church like the Church of England, not to drive religion out of public life."
That is a huge difference between Paul not believing in separation of church and state. If you read anything about Paul, you would also realize that he doesn't believe in government education, so praying would be left up to the individual private schools, and the customers (students and their parents) could choose different schools for different reasons, including whether they pray or not. - 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Guilty by association kind of fallacy thing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I want a tatoo of numbers on my arm like the holocaust victims. You know, if they had RFID in Germany...
No dissent. We know where you are. - moogle516, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6400 ? The Bavarian Illuminati didnt start up until 1776, but the illuminati as we know now has really started with the knights templar, but pre-cursors have been around longer with the rosicurians and merovingians, or you can go further back and say Hiram from Bible times, or some speculate its been around since egyptian or babaloyian times
- Corrosionx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The SSN is a failure because it steals money from future generations to give it to present people. A more sophisticamated ID card is not going to fix a bad idea.
- moogle516, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Oh I forgot to mention Birth Certificate
- wtf00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4some people may believe this real id act is a good thing and other believe is bad thing..
The question I never seen people ask, Why people believe so hard the our own governments wouldn't use it against us?
my answer to the question
1. yes they would, why? have you been living under rock, remember FBI they abuse there power because of the patriot act? and did you forgett your history lesson ? why people shouldn't trust government or give them too much power?
2. why would they do that? maybe because they could sale our information to maybe like airlines, how many time we travel every month? who ever is interested to know and have the cash. sure hell bothers me selling my info and not even getting discount for sharing the piece of information how many time I travel or whatever bah.
but whatever, those believe our wonderful country would never do such things.. I hope your right because in the future if our government become to powerful to handle I'm going to enjoying it telling you " I told you" - 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I don't think he is, I read somewhere a few days ago that for his libertarian beliefs he didn't believe god would intervene (divine intervention?) He's appeared on the Alex Jones show and he isn't a conspiracy theorist, though he does want a proper investigation. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure that's what I read :) (I didn't give it much attention)
- WilliamDavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Those are good ideas.
Unfortunately, you'll probably be required to verify that your RFID is working on a regular basis. If it's not, you'll have to pay the outrageous replacement fee.
This card will eventually become required for participation where any large group gathers. (Store, Mall, Stadium, Toll Road, Doctor, Hospital, any Government Service, etc, etc...) If your RFID isn't working, then no luck.
I guess we have the option of moving to Idaho and shooting our own food for a living, but is that really an option? I think a lot of people would do it now if it really were an option. - JWav3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can disable them.. I think..
A about 10 seconds in a microwave should not warp the card.. but it should fry out the electronics in it.
You can try to locate the chip in it and then cover the card with a cloth and give it a good wack with a hammer.
You can wrap your wallet (or line the inside) in tinfoil.
I sugest you refuse to get on in the first place.. but this is just another way to give some public restiance to the card. - DrStrabismus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's still a day left to submit your comments to the Department of Homeland Security in regard to the regulations:

- Mageant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The problem is that the National ID Card will make the government more powerful. If you have benevolent government, that is ok, but if you don't, then you're in trouble. There is a reason why the founding fathers put so many checks & balances into the Constitution, because they already realized then that you basically CANNOT TRUST THE GOVERNMENT!
- bryanedds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Looks like the vicious dis-information campaign is starting against Ron Paul!
The idiot who wrote this column engages in the "poisoning the well" logical fallacy - that is, if someone appears on a radio show, he must automatically hold the views of that people who run that show! I can't think of a single time someone looking for press has held a discussion on a show with which they disagree. After all, anyone on Bill O'Reilly's show wouldn't be on it unless they agreed with him! Right? RIGHT???
BRILLIANT bit of logic there, eh? Really takes a leap of mind to follow this stupid *****. And honestly, how much looking did this "columnist" have to do to dig up this rather obscure bit of information? Is "someone" simply out to attack Ron Paul by combing through anything that could possibly be misconstrued to be ugly?
Notice that they didn't quote a single thing Ron Paul has actually SAID which might support their argument that he's a "radical religious nut". No no no! They just assume that he supports the agenda of whatever show he appears on. Self-promotion by a political candidate? Surely you jest!
Alright you laying bastards, proceed with your dishonest dis-information campaign agianst Ron Paul! But remember who you are messing with - the Ron Paul supporters on the internet!!! With the internet, we will defeat your lies through SHEER WILL. You're trying to drown sharks, all you're gonna do is piss us off!
I'm like Bush hiding behind a desk in the Oval Office - I'll tell you to BRING IT ON!!! :) - mojibyrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3But it is cool to be tracked and traced everywhere and know what all your family/friends are up too....at least isn't that what they are trying to sell to the young kids anymore with some of the latest gadgets, they even have rfid, microchips in dolls for youngster's so they can get into the program, they all have a register your child in a lost-child database with photo, fingerprints, description, etc.-just in case your child get's kidnapped....the idea of course is great but this is just to get children already in the database of the corrupt government/social services and get the child use to being monitored/tracked/traced/assumed criminal all their lives....everyone needs to quit with these 'voluntary' programs and realize what they are actually all about...george orwells 1984 is becoming a reality as i sit here and type this blurb...wake up world and put a stop to this.
- democracysucks, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11Not that this needs to turn into a religious debate, but the rapture occurs at the same time as the Second Coming. I know this is contrary to popular Christian thought, however, and expect you won't believe it unless you read it. I have a degree in Biblical Studies, and was raised in the whole Left Behind kind of theology, but after forcing myself to study the issue (it didn't take much), I realized the rapture occurs when the living believers are caught up in the clouds to meet Christ and the dead in in Christ. That doesn't discount everything else (the 7 year tribulation, literal kingdom on Earth, etc), so don't think it does away with any of that.
For a good starting spot, if you don't believe me, read the context of those verses that talk about Christ coming like a thief in the night. There's more than one, and when you read their context, it's CLEARLY talking about the Second Coming. - SOULEVENT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3If Barack wins, or like Bush, is handed, the Presidency...would that make America an
"Obama"- NATION?
9/11 was a staging point for the greater NWO concept of a police state and 'Order Out of Chaos'. Whether you like religion or not, certain people have sown the seeds of their worship for hundreds of years. It behooves you learn exactly what it is your "leaders" are practicing.
Ever ask yourself...Why it is that these people are playing out the Prophesy of Revelation with such zeal?
There is NO valid reason, in this day and age, to create a police state and with it MUCH violence and Chaos, unless your doing it believing in Armegeddon/Revelations, and likewise, no reason to create as MUCH Division as has been created with these crazy fundamentalist in office now, unless your dividing them for a much bigger reason.
Guess what, 9/11 was able to raise the fear level throughout the land enough to give us homeland surveillance and "Patriot" Act. What else are they willing to do to throw this world into Chaos? Another attack in which martial law ensues? Cant go in and out of your house because everyone will be suspect to terror?
How many of you think that is beyond happening?
Wonder how a war could be so purposefully mismanaged, and to what purposes that has served the beast for future plans? What are they going to do next?
Wake up "sheeple", these events have been written down for almost two thousand years. You have a soul, will you not save it?
You WILL SOON have a choice to make...Good or Evil...do you think that the government doesnt know where each and every person who voices dissent lives by now? They have created such a distortion between fact and deception that we can spend our time debating that instead of realizing what they have planned next.
They did start campaigning early this time round, odd? Who knows. Bush is suppose to be leaving office...you really think they want to have TRUE investigations into everything regarding this current administration? What are they willing to do before the next elections to wratchett up that fear? Will the administration actually appear to take the fall for the crimes of their brotherhood? If so, will Dems easily take the High Office...and again If Barack wins, will that make America an
"OBAMA"-NATION? - gmason08, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3chicofaraby-"Oh, and BTW, I grew up in the area of Texas where Ron Paul is from. He's a well known nut and a crap doctor. He always has been. I wouldn't let him examine my dog, much less run my country."
Is that a non-partisan perspective? I speak in support of Ron Paul so my loyalties are obvious. When I find people like yourself disparaging him, which is your right I'm fine with that, I frequently ask them to state their allegiance. Only seems fair to me. The responses I get to that question are(in order of frequency) 1. No response(cowards) 2. I have not decided yet(dodge) 3. (after I try to pin them down by rephrasing the question to who is on your long list of possibles/which party do you favor)-no response(cowards) 4. a few have given either a few possibles/or one name.
chicofaraby, you have made a strong negative assertion regarding Dr. Paul and tried to lend authority to your statement by claiming to be from the area of Texas that Dr. Paul is from(first crack in your credibility because Dr. Paul is not FROM Texas).
As I said, I speak in support of Dr. Paul, people know from which perspective my comments are coming from.
You have asserted that your negative view is some kind of common knowledge. Would you like to do people the courtesy of allowing them to know your political view. Who is your current favorite for POTUS or your list of yes, maybe, no or at least which party/part of the political spectrum you lean towards?
On this specific topic: Real ID is a great idea if you see yourself as cattle on a ranch. I am not the livestock of any government. This is obviously an outrageous affront to the citizens of the U.S. on many levels. - CkMaverick, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7@robdazomba
It has nothing to do with Ron Paul. It has to do with OneHine's questioning of someone's rationality because they believe a fundamental philosophy behind the most popular religion on the planet. This is coming from an atheist no less, but I have many religious friends and know many highly intelligent, religious, and rational people. Just because they believe in a very widely known aspect of The Bible, has no bearing on their rationality. Every single President in the history of the United States has been religious... are all of them irrational too? - WilliamDavis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ron Paul can be ***** Crazy... Drooling in a straight jacket, and it still wouldn't make this a good idea.
- CkMaverick, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Did you even read it?... I didn't think so. It said that he has been linked to the group. There is nothing definitive about this article, it is just speculation. Even if it were true. It is a very widespread religious belief that has been adopted by more than 50% of the country wrong or not... I can't see how this could hurt him in the eyes of the American people who supposedly live in the land of free religion.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sure, no one worries about privacy... it's a god damn number we have to worry about.
