I was one of the many who voted for change in 2006, and the only changes that have been made are all negative. I will not vote for an ass or an elephant again. In her last election she said that she would fight to hold the Bush admin accountable, would vote to defund the war, and would stop the "rubber stamp" Congress.
She failed on all 3, and quite honestly is pretty damn close to be a liar and con artist, and I am ashamed I filled in the broken arrow on my voter form and helped her get re-elected.

People I agreed with, but I wasn't allowed to talk about any positions one way or the other and was definitely prohibited from getting into a debate, and I just had to sit there getting berated by someone who didn't really understand my situation.
The people answering calls have virtually no contact with the representative, and they have no power than the caller himself to change the representative's mind. The rep might look at calls once every couple weeks if you're lucky, and on particularly contentious issues they'll look at the results on the call sheets and go, "Oh. Ok. Noted." And that's it. When I called up my senators and the Obama campaign about this immunity bs, I very politely told the person they should register my extreme disapproval of the bill, because that's just as effective as what this woman did and infinitely nicer.
I know where this woman is coming from, believe me, I am PISSED about this situation and I'll be helping to try to run Pelosi out of office. I actually got a (at least partially canned) response, which called impeachment a "distraction" from the work of bringing home the troops safely. Right. The Democrats were handed control of Congress two years ago, and how many troops have they brought home since then? Oh yeah, -10,000 or so. And now it appears Obama himself is going to cave on FISA and prosecution of war crimes. It's no surprise the Libertarian candidate, Bob Barr, polls at 6% in Zogby.
