- Rusty626, on 11/04/2008, -17/+312There is going to be so much damage to undo, it boggles the mind.
- gjd99, on 11/04/2008, -17/+294This is a strong argument that Bush should have been impeached long ago.
- duckley, on 11/04/2008, -11/+249FTA:
We suppose there is some good news in all of this. While Mr. Bush leaves office on Jan. 20, 2009, he has only until Nov. 20 to issue “economically significant” rule changes and until Dec. 20 to issue other changes.
Anything after that is merely a draft and can be easily withdrawn by the next president.
Unfortunately, the White House is well aware of those deadlines. - nastee01, on 11/04/2008, -11/+187We're so eager for the next administration we forgot that a drunken teenager still has the keys to the car. The bit about Guantanamo really shocked me. I hope that one day Bush and Cheney will be held accountable, though I know it's unlikely.
- writie, on 11/04/2008, -11/+179I have been reading from our republican friends that McCain is a vote for freedom, as opposed to Obama's apparent socialism/fascism/Marxism/Muslim. I would appreciate it if they read this article and comment.
- homercles337, on 11/04/2008, -13/+177Truly, deeply disturbing. This administration will go down as the absolute worst in history.
- nastee01, on 11/04/2008, -11/+140Republicans tend to forget that the last 8 years have witnessed the greatest redistribution of wealth in US history - from the poor and middle class to the wealthy, and from US to foreign entities. Obama is widely criticized as a "redistributionist" (read: socialist), but we tend to forget that our recent administrations have favored *upward* redistribution. That needs to stop.
- Bastet62, on 11/04/2008, -16/+97Bush still has 2 more months to start a new war, detain and torture anyone he wants, and ruin the country even more.
- thesparrowband, on 11/05/2008, -0/+56Ctrl+z! for the love of god hit ctrl+z!
- Solkre, on 11/05/2008, -4/+58NonLeftistDiggr
That means you were on the losing end I think. - inactive, on 11/04/2008, -8/+61also unfortunately, he also realizes that if he does enough damage. The new president, won't have enough time to undo the damage, without diverting his time and energy from the real issues facing this nation!
- Rotzooi, on 11/05/2008, -7/+56Unfortunately as well, there is so much Republican crap to clean up, it will take at least Obama's entire first term to kick out the punks and flush the toilets. Only then can he think about starting the real change.
But with Bush/Cheney's cronies in place, we'll have to deal with these GOP thugs for decades to come. - sockpuppets, on 11/05/2008, -1/+47That was just me, sorry. I was after your cheezburger.
- chikuten, on 11/05/2008, -9/+49It's almost as if Bush is putting all effort into becoming the worst president ever.
- Deeh, on 11/04/2008, -9/+48He's trying to secure his position in history:

- Royish, on 11/05/2008, -8/+43These guys are just evil.
Obama should use the patriot act to hold Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all the neo-cons who destroyed this country in jail indefinitely.
No habeas corpus, no phone calls, plenty of waterboarding. - kirrim, on 11/05/2008, -4/+39If you look around the table and don't know who the sucker is... the sucker is you.
- ridestp, on 11/05/2008, -14/+49Here is Obama's position on the issue

He seems pretty excited to get in the Whitehouse and clean up! WOOT! - JenniferInMO, on 11/05/2008, -14/+46Please digg this up and let's pay attention to this information as it emerges. We have allowed so much to pass by us these past 8 years. Sunlight disinfects.
- Akairenn, on 11/05/2008, -3/+35'KKKlinton's'
Those letters.
You keep using them.
I do not think you know what they mean. - sodade, on 11/05/2008, -6/+35"But with Bush/Cheney's cronies in place, we'll have to deal with these GOP thugs for decades to come"
That's why we should have put the whole neoconmen cabal on ***** trial. - ironhide, on 11/05/2008, -6/+35I have a feeling this "orderly transition" is going to be the same as the one when the Cardassians handed over Terrok Nor to the Bajorians.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 11/05/2008, -2/+31NonLeftistDiggr:
Surprise! You're the "poor people" too. - youliveinfear, on 11/05/2008, -2/+29I heard they took all the W's off of keyboards. Shocking.
- youannoyme, on 11/05/2008, -1/+26purposefully leaving a mess just to trip up the next guy is political competition? What happened to being a servant of the people?
- selmer, on 11/05/2008, -3/+28"These changes would extend the so-called right to refuse to a wide range of health care workers and activities including abortion referrals, unbiased counseling and provision of birth control pills or emergency contraception, even for rape victims."
So, Bush is scrambling to pass legislation that allows a doctor to refuse emergency contraception to a rape victim? Are you serious? Just to be a dick or what?
This ***** administration has no conscience. YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED - vbh61422, on 11/05/2008, -5/+29Asking a Republican to read the NY Times is like asking a Muslim to eat pork chops...its not happening
- Pimptastic, on 11/05/2008, -2/+26I still think taking all the W's off the keyboards was one of the funniest damned thing they did.
- shylove, on 11/04/2008, -14/+38Tell me about it I've had 8 years of direct physical surveillance!!!
- northwatuppa, on 11/05/2008, -0/+24Bush doesn't care what anyone thinks, he never really did. As long as he can do stuff.
- bstew22, on 11/05/2008, -9/+33"INVESTIGATE. PROSECUTE. CONVICT. IMPRISON."
seriously? wow. - catbeller, on 11/05/2008, -2/+26Yup. Your money was redistributed to the rich. You didn't see it go, because they charged you money you have not yet made to the national credit card. 6 trillion balance going in, 13 trillion going out.
The bill is coming to the table now. Here you go. And there they go, laughing at you. - AtraNoxVII, on 11/05/2008, -6/+27Bush: "Damn it DAD, they won, what do I do now?"
Bush Sr.: "Son we do what we're supposed to do. Throw the cards on the ground, step on them a bit and make them play 52 card pickup." - catbeller, on 11/05/2008, -5/+26Because it was a lie. Rove put that pack of fecal matter out there for the press to run with. They admitted it later, but of course, no one remembers that.
- shauncorleone, on 11/05/2008, -6/+27Do some research about all the presidential pardons issued by Billy Boy before he left office. It's staggering.
- youliveinfear, on 11/05/2008, -3/+23do some research on Reagan's pardons..Bush I's pardons...the point is, they all pardon.
- ericmerrill, on 11/05/2008, -2/+22fail.
- jehan60188, on 11/05/2008, -0/+19yah, seriously. "i'm the worst leader in history? who cares, my family and i are so rich that we'll never have to work a day in our lives for the next 10 generations!"
the only way to get justice is to administer it yourself. - jehan60188, on 11/05/2008, -2/+21hmm, rich, white, well connected?
they've never had to answer for anything, why would they start now? - quasipolymath, on 11/05/2008, -1/+20This is the moving party that your friends have at the apartment after they know they have already lost the security deposit.
- muckemuck, on 11/05/2008, -7/+25oh yeah.. I'd forgotten about the stories of the Clinton staffers doing really petty things to the offices, etc. Were there photos of any of the mess they left?
- JenniferInMO, on 11/05/2008, -4/+22No.
- sockpuppets, on 11/05/2008, -6/+24The quagmire was Iraq, doofus. If we had that level of force in Afghanistan there would be no "quagmire" about it.
- ParanoydAndroid, on 11/05/2008, -0/+18RM -rf /Bush/*.*
- swrostmore, on 11/05/2008, -6/+23Hopefully now that the election is over, there will be less Democratic resistance to investigations into Bush administration misconduct. But I'm not optimistic.
- publiclurker, on 11/05/2008, -1/+18I know how you feel, I've been married for over ten years myself.
- AtraNoxVII, on 11/05/2008, -1/+17...Star Trek references...*Presses the thumbs up multiple times.*
- flaknugget, on 11/05/2008, -2/+18Somebody should really address the issue of openness in government, no more of this executive-privilege BS to cover criminal behavior.
Let the government answer to the people. - vertigo32, on 11/05/2008, -8/+23No, they didn't. The GAO investigated those allegations (including a report of defecation in a desk, pornography, and spraypaint) and found that they were untrue - any damage to the White House was consistent with the typical change of tenants in office space. Bush himself said those allegations were false.
But hey, the truth has never stopped you before. -
