- RollFizzlebeef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11The president responded, “I don’t want to pass this off to another president.
I don’t want to pass this off, particularly, to a Democratic president,”
Generations of presidents will have to deal with the aftermath of this fustercluck. - gumbi69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Funny how they waited until Dick was out of town.
- jackelsmack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Funny, WaPo reported today that Bush recently assured Saudi leaders of his intention to stay in Iraq his whole term:
-------
To dampen such speculation, Bush is said to have told the Saudis that America will not withdraw from Iraq during his presidency. 'That gives us 18 months to plan,' said one Saudi source.

If the President is talking out of both sides of his mouth, which side is he playing for suckers, the Saudis or congressional Republicans? - RollFizzlebeef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm also thinking we've got the "flip" part of the Republican nominee's eventual flip-flop on Iraq on tape - namely, at the first Republican debate.
I believe they all quite happily embraced the war(s), with the exception of Ron Paul. - JackBurden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It is an absolutely disgusting state of affairs when telling the president the truth is a "defining pivotal moment." Where were these brave GOP souls when telling the truth would have made a real difference? Cowards.
- m3t00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cheney is in Iraq telling them "Do not go on vacation!".
Especially while our troops are dying for your country or the Congress should pull the plug and bring our troops home. I predict they will be home before Bush leaves office. Sooner the better.
Halliburton has already begun to cut and run: http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/
Cheney gave his cash cow the heads up months ago. - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Excellent question. Did you ever see Bush holding hands with a Congressman? The Saudis own Bush. He's their man, far more than he is ours, I'm afraid.
- dawg109, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2GWB "the capt allways goes down with the ship."
- fancypantscz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Rove is thinking, "If we just could have cut the American people completely off from the death and destruction taking place in Iraq we could have won this war. This is all the 'liberal' media's fault."
- bagold51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "cowards" were supporting Bushco because they didn't want to be against him at the time. Now that the country is demanding troop pullout, they are hopping on the other bandwagon now, because their jobs are in jeopardy.
- BrandonMills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'd rather be fired than follow the orders that this administration has given.
As far as I'm concerned, all willing followers of this White House deserve to go down with their Captain on this one. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There are mental illnesses to describe the need to be right when you are dead wrong.
This isn't just about Bush--his actions are responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths, American troops are risking their lives every second, and our country is financially bleeding so badly that we're in danger of becoming a colony to those holding our debt.
It is time to hold Congress and the Senate responsible. They have the power to effect change. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the Royal Families of the Old World - Windsor, Al-Saud, Rothschild - have been trying to get their hooks into the New World since before the Declaration of Independence.
We need regime change, not continued two party cartel leadership.
ps BUSH GOT TEH PWND - BrandonMills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The thing that finally brings to his attention the seriousness of the matter?
There might be a *gasp* Democratic President in '08!
Of course, that doesn't even begin to mention the fact that Republicans are still predicted to have massive loses in races for House and Senate. It looks like Karl Roves 'Republican control' dream is going down in flames. - BrandonMills, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Because none of them are responsible.
As much as I do want Bush out of office, I don't like scapegoating, either. There is a heck of a lot more responsibility for whats gone wrong in this war than just Bush. I think each member should be held accountable for their own actions. This 'Well, the President pressured us into it.' BS shouldn't fly.
