- ChessPieceFace, on 09/29/2008, -16/+342This is sick! Acts like these are a direct result of that despicable DVD and of all the GOP/ theocon fear mongering that America has been subjected to over the years.
And yes, this is terrorism! - digitalpencil, on 09/29/2008, -16/+225"This, apparently, is what the scare tactic political campaigning of John McCain's supporters has led to -- Americans perpetrating a terrorist attack against innocent children on American soil."
what a bright future we all have.. - noweapon, on 09/29/2008, -20/+227God help us. Those are American babies!
- wskytangofxtrt, on 09/29/2008, -9/+185Is this what we have become? A country where hatred is distributed with the Sunday paper? Where children are maliciously attacked because of their religion and no one blinks?? Dear God! Help us heal this hatefulness. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this awful crime.
- Muzikal203, on 09/29/2008, -16/+188This is why Obama is so popular, we like people who make us feel good, not people who make us feel like crap. I choose HOPE over the tired FEAR tactics of the GOP. No wonder this country is in the sad state it's in.
- mousers1968, on 09/29/2008, -9/+145Here is the email for the people that put this sick piece of trash into circulation.
info@clarionfund.org
Write them and tell them they need to issue an appology to the families of this crime. - SomeoneGNU, on 09/29/2008, -7/+143I canceled my paper the week I saw that insert. Told the paper I wasn't pleased with their need to distribute hate mongering propaganda.
- LeeinJax, on 09/29/2008, -6/+127NO TERRORISM in our names!
- TracerMan, on 09/29/2008, -1/+115Those are babies period, American or not.
- GonzoLegend, on 09/29/2008, -1/+98Yeah where is the media on this????????????????????
- algaeturd, on 09/29/2008, -6/+101Republicans ONLY protect babies until they are born. After that, they're free game apparently.
- sjnorth, on 09/29/2008, -4/+86Where is CNN, NBC, ABC? If this happened to a nursery at a presbyterian church, there would be fricking nonstop coverage. Where is the coverage? This is horrifying, and it is no surprise that this HATE DVD whose entire purpose was to spread HATE actually worked. Sickening, and the purveyors of this DVD are as much to blame for what happened to those kids as the people handling the mace canisters.
- stonesong, on 09/29/2008, -11/+92I'm certain that our brave young men and women serving in Iraq and Afganistan will be appalled to know that the very people they have fought and died to protect are now being threatened at home. And all because a man running for office wants to win at any cost. How's that honor and country first thing working for you, Mr. McCain? Are you feeling the love for our soldiers and veterans tonight as your campaign makes mockery of all that they fight to defend?
Shame, shame on you and your campaign. You have no honor sir. - 5celery, on 09/29/2008, -8/+76Homegrown Terrorists sponsor McCain/Palin
- nickkie72, on 09/29/2008, -8/+72Obsession may have been the immediate catalyst for such a horrible act, but this traces back to the xenophobia and prejudices among some Americans for anything not a White Anglo-Saxon Christian.
- mediablitz, on 09/29/2008, -4/+58Not a single word of this over at the LGF site. Gassing Muslim kids is apparently just fine by them...
- inactive, on 09/29/2008, -3/+52GOP believes we are in the middle of a holy war. Bush called it a crusade and later a task from God.
And McCain sees the enemy as whoever does not support the Judeo-Christian "values":
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/19/mccains-j ... - thayanmarsh, on 09/29/2008, -2/+51This is terrorism, straight up. You are all right about the MSM not covering this because its not a church, its a mosque.
- friscos, on 09/29/2008, -9/+55Hope OVER fear. This is not my America and NONE of us should allow this to stand! Senator McCain - call off your "goon squads", sir!
- paintgrl, on 09/29/2008, -2/+48Good for you. Lets hope more people follow with your example and boy cot with their pocket books.
- franklymister, on 09/29/2008, -7/+50This is so ***** up.
I recently read Philip Roth's "The Plot Against America," a historical fiction set in pre-WWII America, where anti-semitic feelings have taken over the country and kept us out of the war against Hitler. The scary thing, and what makes it so plausible, is that it was not the government that was needed to attack the Jews, the American people did it just fine on their own.
I am a Jew, and I think that what's happening to the Muslims in America and Europe is frighteningly similar to how Jews were treated only a few decades ago. Fear, suspicion, accusations of dual loyalties, it's the same thing all over again. The only difference is that (thankfully) there's no Hitler, and no economic post-war disaster like Germany faced in the '30s.
Given the state of the wars we're fighting overseas, though, and our own economy, and it gets a little scarier.
I really don't like what I'm seeing - this is exactly the time that everyone, especially Jewish Americans, should be speaking up, because this is exactly what the poem by Pastor Martin Niemöller, "They Came For Me..." is talking about.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Martin_Niemoell ... - AnitraWeb, on 09/29/2008, -5/+44"By their fruits ye shall know them." The fruits of "War on Terror" fear-mongering is more terrorism. Time to turn our backs on the fear-mongerers. They aren't "defending" ANY of us.
- inactive, on 09/29/2008, -2/+40Just fine?!! I'm sure by LGF standards gassing Muslim kids is an admirable and heroic job!
Half of the comments on that piece of ***** racist hate blog are discussions of how Muslims (and recently Russians and Chinese) should be crucified. - SeaSideClown, on 09/29/2008, -2/+36This DVD was distributed here in Florida. I've watched it: It is the most inflammatory form of propaganda i've seen in a LONG time. It approaches an issue from one, very narrow-minded perspective. It is completely subjective, and has absolutely no informative value. I just hope americans are smart enough to see through this propaganda.
- shadus, on 09/29/2008, -4/+38I'm sickened that this happened less than 50 miles from where I live. I'm embarrassed to be an American, I'm embarrassed to be an Ohioan.
- ifire, on 09/29/2008, -2/+34My family got this DVD in the mail and promptly trashed it.
- geddon, on 09/29/2008, -7/+38This happened two blocks from my home. I'm disgusted to live here.
- br0ck, on 09/29/2008, -2/+32NPR is working to dig more info up about Clarion at http://www.npr.org/blogs/secretmoney/2008/09/new_d ...
- kurtwinter, on 09/29/2008, -1/+30Now who's the terrorist?
- algaeturd, on 09/29/2008, -3/+32I'm currently in Dayton visiting a friend. He was sent the DVD through the mail, struck his name out of it and wrote, 'return to sender. I'm not buying this *****.' He did that friday when it came and we sat back and had a laugh over it. I'd never watch it. He wouldn't either but it's SICK that people buy into this ***** propaganda. If anyone wants a copy of the video, let me know. Otherwise, it's going back in the mail to the sickos who sent it.
- jedijain, on 09/29/2008, -3/+31this is unbelievable...
and it happened in ohio?!
spam their email:
info@clarionfund.org
tell them what you think - gearhead364, on 09/29/2008, -2/+30This makes me sick, this is the city that I grew up in, I know Ohio is split 50/50, but I never imagined that someone could do this in my own town. I am embarrassed to call my self an Ohioan now and it is going to be hard to face my friend tomorrow. This is American homegrown terrorism and it scares me more than any other form terrorism out there, the fact that they could do this to children.
- paintgrl, on 09/29/2008, -3/+30I am sickened by this, but not surprised. I am not a lawyer so I do not know if there is a viable case, but couldn't the group who disseminated this DVD be brought up on charges of inciting acts of violence or promoting hate speech. There must be some kind of punishment for acts like this. SomeoneGNU above said s/he canceled their paper for sending that DVD. I think this is a very good idea. Boy cot with your pocket book and tell the papers that send this garbage why you are pulling your subscription.
- jedijain, on 09/29/2008, -2/+29"The presidential campaign edition of the Obsession DVD, currently being distributed by the Clarion Fund, carries the endorsement of the chair of the counter-terrorism department of the U.S. Naval War College, using the name and authority of an official U.S. military institution not only to validate an attack the religion of Islam, but to influence a political campaign."
conspiracy anyone? - gramma61, on 09/29/2008, -3/+30 Send the DVD's to ACLU..locals news orgs...CNN...flood everywhere with this info.Get it out.Write letters to editors...Make a HUGE stink about the hate mongering.I've already started my own campaign. This is demented and gone to far.Mass mailing to every paper in the country. The Obama site has a full media contact list.
- DforSpiD, on 09/29/2008, -1/+27Emails for the newspapers that included the dvds...

Denver Post openforum@denverpost.com
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel bbrenner@journalsentinel.com
Flroida Times-Union rich@rayjacksonville.com

Drop them all an email and tell them what you think... - a1532b, on 09/29/2008, -2/+28I'm from Dayton...We're not all like this I swear! They included those dvd's with the newspaper last week..and some nutjob obviously took it to heart. How come we don't get any good news from around here? :(
- USArugula, on 09/29/2008, -9/+34These are the people McCain stands beside. These are the people McCain courts. We cannot allow them to control our society another 4 years. It is time to take our country back.
- pbendenhaft, on 09/29/2008, -6/+31What cowards you are to gas children and babies. If you believe in a vengeful God, may His terrible wrath be visited upon you a thousand fold.
And you, John McCain, is this the America you suffered as a POW to defend? An America where those who use your name send out a message that incites hate and violence toward women and children do so without sanction from you?
John McCain, if you are a man of honor, a man of American values, you will condemn this act and the video that incited it. - inactive, on 09/29/2008, -1/+26These cowards must be hunted down like the pathetic pig-dogs that they are.
- thelastwarrior, on 09/29/2008, -2/+27its funny how much of an "obsession" these hate mongers have with spreading propaganda against muslims.
- bluevillage, on 09/29/2008, -6/+28If McCain is going to play guilt by association with former terrorists like Ayers, he's got blood on his hands now -- in the present tense, and so do the newspapers that distributed this incitement.
- swrostmore, on 09/29/2008, -1/+23I'd put money on the culprit being an LGF poster.
- wolfboy2883, on 09/29/2008, -2/+24Unforgivable. Atrocity #1: attacking innocent, unarmed women and children; Atrocity #2: using NBC weapons of any kind; Atrocity #3: attacking people based on their beliefs/way of life/culture; Atrocity #4 committing an act of terrorism on US SOIL!
Listen up you sick ***** whoever you are, if you're reading this ask yourself how you can live with yourself! What did your victims do to deserve this? I hope you are caught and given no quarter in court: because a shred of mercy is more than you gave to them! God save you, vermin! - SwankRock3000, on 09/29/2008, -3/+25Jesus tapdancing Christ.
I'm really having a hard time thinking of something more messed up than this. Absolutely terrible.
Who bets McCain won't even mention it? - username17, on 09/29/2008, -2/+24This is TERRORISM. Mainstream media, where the ***** are you?
- nickkie72, on 09/29/2008, -1/+22Obsession is but fear under the false name of justice. They must be held to account for what they have done.
- paintgrl, on 09/29/2008, -3/+23They need to be brought up on hate crimes.
- pintomp3, on 09/29/2008, -4/+23absolutely disgusting. i'm all for free speech, but this is the type of anti-semitic propaganda the nazis used to use. my heart goes out to the families of the children.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -4/+22This violence was probably waged by people who buy into the kind of xenophobic hype toward muslims that has been coddled by some in the Republican party, but I wouldn't stoop so low as to lay this at John McCain's feet..
