- yocouchdigga, on 06/15/2009, -36/+277Stay classy, GOP.
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -23/+241Isn't that three different SC Republican in what, less than a month?
Funny how the people SO offended by the Palin joke have nothing to say about all the racist comments coming out of SC Republicans.
On air comedian makes a joke: OMFG!!! WARRRGGRBBLLL!!!!
Republicans make racist *jokes*: crickets - JoeCool51, on 06/15/2009, -15/+186...and he ***** all in caps? What a douche
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -39/+126I thought it was pretty funny
- kingofinternet, on 06/16/2009, -22/+104the g.o.p. tide is ebbing, leaving behind all the scum.
- sockpuppets, on 06/16/2009, -1/+80The internet is a series of chalk boards.
- Protuhj, on 06/16/2009, -5/+78Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that the past-tense of 'tweet' has become '*****'?
- MaxxusFlamus, on 06/16/2009, -14/+79I'll give him credit though-
That's far more clever than the usual racist humor. - thunderclap82, on 06/16/2009, -11/+76The democrats don't even need to campaign to stay in next term. The republicans are doing the job for them.
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -12/+74Always have to use the 92 year old, who denounced the Klan almost 50 years ago.. His action occurred when he was 23-24 years old. HE says he was young, naive, and had "tunnel vision of a clueless young man".
So what is the excuse for these GROWN MEN, more than 60 years later? Three of them, just in SC? Why can't you address THIS issue? You have to continually wave your hand and say "look over here!!!"?
OOPS! Another one today, this time from Tennessee. When are you going to denounce all the racist actions TODAY, from your party? - CardHockman, on 06/16/2009, -10/+62"NO-NAME CONSERVATIVE BLOGGER POSTS RACIST COMMENT, INTERNET ***** SELF"
- duncan202, on 06/16/2009, -23/+69I didn't click on the link, but the joke was pretty funny actually.
- homercles337, on 06/16/2009, -0/+40You can thank Stephen Colbert for that...i use it all the time. ;-)
- JoeMondo, on 06/16/2009, -8/+44Byrd denounced the KKK.
When will the GOP denounce its racism? - JoeMondo, on 06/16/2009, -5/+40@TCSavant, after something is denounced, it's supposed to be dicontinued.
Try again. - darkism, on 06/16/2009, -16/+48Racist Republicans?
UNBELIEVABLE! - Hetman, on 06/16/2009, -6/+34Actually they denounced state rights in 1862 but to be fair the republican party of 1862 is nothing like the republican party of 2009. Lincoln is rolling over in his grave right now.
- DankBuddz, on 06/16/2009, -1/+27Whatever you need to rationalize.
- orlandogeek, on 06/16/2009, -1/+27Oh please, don't even compare this to the Letterman issue. Not even close. Letterman issued a full on mea culpa about his tasteless joke, and he seemed clearly genuine.
What are the chances anyone's going to see anything more than a meaningless half-hearted apology from this jackass? - Elranzer, on 06/16/2009, -4/+29Aw, that's so cute. You're using words you've heard from Rush Limbaugh like "leftist."
- razor150, on 06/16/2009, -3/+27He accuses Obama of racism by implying on white people work jackass. Are you really that stupid?
- JDoorjam, on 06/16/2009, -2/+26The joke implies rather clearly that Obama raised taxes on working whites because they are working and white. The secondary implications are that Obama (intentionally) favors non-white people who don't work (and that non-whites don't work). It's got pretty strong racist overtones.
- Witchboy, on 06/16/2009, -4/+28When you ask if that joke is racist and you imply that people are seeing racism where none exists, are you serious or are you trolling? It's okay that the lowest-common-denominator conservatives make jokes about the party that just smoked their asses. It's also okay for the more pedestrian conservatives to equate liberal with higher taxes/bad on the economy, despite the fact that Clinton and then Bush disproved that.
But saying that "whites work" and implying that others (brown, black) don't is racism. Don't minimize it, even if you're a Republican. It's hateful and just makes things worse. You should be fighting against it, regardless of politics. - Bloodwine, on 06/16/2009, -2/+26Romans had Aspirin?
- Hetman, on 06/16/2009, -4/+27In reality no slaves were freed. Even when slavery was eventually slowly ended segregation still ran rampant in the south for the next 100 years.
- PopcornDave, on 06/16/2009, -1/+24@Bloodwine - Cavemen had aspirin. The bottles were so easy to open even a caveman could do it.
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -2/+25Jeremiah Wright was "worst person in the World" on Olbermann, for his "dem JEws!" comment. I saw a lot of *liberals* on Digg disgusted by his comments. Yes, there were some defending him, but many more were condemning him.
The thing is, you don't see ANY Digg *conservatives* condemning this *****. I am especially pointing at the "usual characters" here on Digg. You know the one's: they are in every Obama bashing thread, saying it isn't about Obama, it;'s his policies. So then, where are the Glyth's, DreadPirates, Vaults, atomheartmothers, etc., saying this string of bigoted stuff SPECIFICALLY directed out to Republican constituents, is wrong? - rinote, on 06/16/2009, -0/+23That was pretty poetic for a political putdown.
- sandersdamnit, on 06/16/2009, -0/+22No zach. The implication is that non whites don't work. Think about it. It's an old joke. I am from the south and this is a frequently used bad joke.
- sockpuppets, on 06/16/2009, -0/+22Unless he's the CEO of Bayer.
- ironhide, on 06/16/2009, -9/+31Clever? It's an ancient racist joke.
- gohepcat, on 06/16/2009, -3/+23So saying "black people are shiftless and lazy" is ok?...because that's the ***** joke. Do you not get it?
- kingnova, on 06/16/2009, -4/+24So was the Letterman joke. His audience laughed pretty hard. But even though that was a COMEDIAN, he got lambasted by the right.
Now, in this case, you have an official representative for the Republican party sending out a bigoted joke. Not once, not twice, but three times in three days.
Not a comic, but an official representative. That is the difference to me. It is one thing for someone to think it is funny. It is completely different to endorse it. - Takfam, on 06/16/2009, -8/+28"Oh, I'll just hit delete and no one will ever know I typed that!"
Yeah, that'll work. I hope Republican figures keep making mistakes like this. It makes it SO much easier to vote down their proposed internet laws and taxes when they make it abundantly clear they have no clue what they're are doing. - inactive, on 06/16/2009, -5/+23It pretty much ruined the time honored tradition of political cartoonists depicting the president as a monkey.
- inactive, on 06/16/2009, -9/+26Someone should say to those GOP ***** that when you say something on facebook or twitter it stays on the internet.
- Elranzer, on 06/16/2009, -0/+17He must not realize that once it's on the Internet, it's there FOREVER.
- sbernhardt, on 06/16/2009, -3/+20Don't think the comment was aimed at Obama specifically. He was taking a shot at minorities in general. Whites work....
- str1fe, on 06/16/2009, -2/+18Straw mans are pretty bad arguments. Basically, your argument is like saying "It's okay for SC Republicans to be racist because I really like Happy Hour at Sonic. Smoothies are half off!"
- kahoona1, on 06/16/2009, -14/+30Is ANYONE in the GOP going to step up and put a stop to this?
- Corneileus, on 06/16/2009, -2/+18Dugg for spelling WARRRGGRBBLLL!!!! correctly.
- dagnabbit, on 06/16/2009, -3/+19[citation needed]
- Fib0112, on 06/16/2009, -1/+16Or is it possible that maybe you just didn't get Carlin's humor?
- razor150, on 06/16/2009, -2/+17So he jokes about reverse racism by implying only white people work. Nice. No wonder people consider the Republican party a haven for racists.
- appleofdischord, on 06/16/2009, -1/+15I get mad as all hell about reverse racism (and sexism) but this is just unconscionable. The joke implies that Obama only cares about minorities AND that none of those minorities work.
The first part may not be racist, but the second most certainly is. - insertAliasHere, on 06/16/2009, -1/+15Oh, quit being a douch, lotus. That's obviously the point of the joke. If anything, you're deliberately underextending your brain to miss the blatant implication.
- MikeOxbigg, on 06/16/2009, -7/+21It implies that Obama's agenda is race-based and targets/punishes white Americans who are, by contrast, hard-working. By contrast to what? Well, it doesn't take a genius.
Reading comprehension is fun. - jotchie, on 06/16/2009, -0/+14Dugg for alliteration.
- snagglefoof, on 06/16/2009, -3/+17What? Seriously?
