- outlaw4freedom, on 10/10/2007, -5/+359This is what happens when people get drunk on power.
This is NOT an isolated incident. The police have immunity from things that you and I would go to prison for.
Botched drug raid? Killed your grandmother on accident? Paid vacation!
Sometimes I wish I were a cop, just so that I could slow the rest of them down, or at the very least make them question what they do.
Sadly, the people who actually do wish to help people.. to become Peace Officers... rarely make it to the streets. - MassiveTaTas, on 10/10/2007, -15/+344I wanted to be a cop once but I decided to graduate from high school.
- V3NOM, on 10/10/2007, -3/+264I really hope the guy that made the video files a complaint at the local police station. I know that when you have a bad day it might affect how you act at work, but that cop was literally looking for the slightest excuse to punch someone.
- blqysmg, on 10/10/2007, -6/+189the trouble is that this is the way we live these days. There is ALWAYS an excuse to arrest someone. You and I break law just by leaving the house. If the cop is in a bad mood, then you can be framed ^H^H^H^H^H^H found to have drugs and a gun on your person or in your car. This is an almost automatic 5 year sentance. Yes, if you are a cute female celebrity who gets naked on camera, you get three days; if you are male and American, you get five to ten years, out in 4 if you keep your nose clean in prison. Welcome to America.

- wreckosaurus, on 10/10/2007, -9/+169Minimum requirement to be a cop: 4 year degree. That would keep a lot of the ***** out.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -11/+171***** pigs
- Nudar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+106I hope to see this video on the news in a few days as well as this cop getting fired. I feel bad that his family will have to suffer but this country cannot afford to have cops like him patrolling our streets. It did seem like the cop was about to piss his pants when he heard that St. Louis paid the guy not to sue the city.
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -3/+106What the ***** is that clicking noise? Between that and the retard hillbilly ***** pig that video is almost impossible to watch.
Edit: Seeing the end of that, that cop was most definitely drunk. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+95I know a few nurses and doctors who work at a major hospital in a major city.
So, at a party last year 2 of the girls began a discussion about racial stuff and penis size. Given their jobs, these people see a lot of penis. So eventually someone says something to the effect of "asian men = small penis" and the one girl laughed and said no, race doesn't matter, and added that THE ONLY MEN WHO CONSISTENTLY HAVE SMALL PENISES ARE POLICE OFFICERS. Several other people chimed in to agree, and apparently this is a running joke in the medical world or something because virtually everyone there chimed in to agree, and they were all doctors or nurses or whatever at this hospital.
Kinda explains cops' attitudes. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -18/+108"I'll show you what a cop does". African Americans have been telling you idiots for decades that this is what they do but you haven't wanted to believe it. If that guy were black he would be in jail. You, however, prefer to go on believing the fantasy of a "free" country. That dream will shortly be shattered to splinters by this guy and millions more like him.
- lordmetroid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+88The fact that police are out of control and threatens with arrests and whatnot isn't uncommon. What is uncommon is that it is caught on tape.

Favorite quote ever. - rickpdx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+78I am a lawyer (transactional, not trial) and had a basic belief that our police were good, honest people...until I got pulled over for breaking a traffic law that I knew wouldn't go into effect until Jan 1 of the following year (this was in mid-Dec). I completely complied with everything the officer said as he wrote the ticket, knowing that it would serve my interests to listen and not speak. Once he left, I immediately took out a notepad and wrote down everything that happened, with date, time and details. I contested the ticket, of course, and went to trial. Once there, I made my case, with photos, citations to law, and ending with a motion to dismiss. Then I encountered something I never expected to have happen: the fat pig lied under oath and made up a completely bogus story about what I did that completely countered everything that actually happened. I sat there with my jaw dropped, knowing that he had to know he was lying. The judge found against me but in a sidebar after the decision told me that under current law, he had no choice but to believe the cop over me since the cop is trained to deal with violations of traffic law and I am not. He added that I had made the best case he'd ever heard in traffic court and urged me to file an appeal. I didn't, not wanting to spend $600 and waste even more time. But I no longer believe that cops are more or less honest than other people. It was definitely a learning experience for me.
- unpaidbill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+73immediately i thought, 'punk jerk got pulled over'... then i heard the cop freaking out. wow. that cop shouldn't be fired, he should be put in jail for a long time.
- navitatl, on 10/10/2007, -5/+75Isolated incident, of course not. This stuff happens every day in every town in America. It almost feels like the only way to surely avoid going to jail wrongfully is to tape-record your whole life.
- Nudar, on 10/10/2007, -8/+77Wow that is scary. That cop should be locked up for a long time in pound me in the ass federal prison.
- yourmom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+64Radar detector, tells the driver if there's a cop nearby.
- stlouisx50, on 10/10/2007, -0/+61First off, I know this is a real story and the tape has not been edited or staged. Just go to www.speedtrapexchange.org and see the post there from years and years of how corrupt the town of St. George, Missouri is. The truth is the cop was sitting out of his venue. From the first part you can see where the officer has pulled in the middle of the street when my friend has tried to go around him he has to swerve because the officer is parked blocking the street to the commuter parking lot. Also notice you can see the blinkers used the two times that the officer says they were not used. The officer used the reason swerving and no turn signal numerous times. Which is a total lie! Besides that my friend never got loud mouthed to the cop, never threatened the cop, and never provoked the cop to get violent. I for one like good cops, but the bad ones shown in this video really ruin the appearance of what a professional public servant should be like.
A little more back ground of this city. In 2001 the city was busted on not reporting the revenue that was actually generated and reported less... In 1983 the chief at the time got arrested for placing a car bomb on someones car. The current chief got suspended without pay when he was on the Arnold Police Department back in 2000. The cities police station is a tiny house inside a subdivision. - j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -2/+63If you've ever sped then you've broken the law. Not to mention there are laws that are designed to be catch-all. "Disorderly conduct." They can get you with that one for just walking down the street. Not to mention it's impossible to know every law. It's not even written in a language that you or I can understand.
- Amablue, on 10/10/2007, -1/+60Is there any follow up to this? I want to know what happened afterward. Did the kid get off the hook? What happened to the officer?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+59I've just given up with the human race, anyone care to join me?
- positron, on 10/10/2007, -1/+54Cops don't get fired. They go on "administrative leave".
- outlaw4freedom, on 10/10/2007, -9/+59"The problem with being a cop, is I'd have to live on a cop's wages.
Which is kind of another scary thought... You don't get the best candidates with low wages."
Which prompts many of them to do illegal things to make more money, like say, taking part in drug deals, asset forfeiture, and a host of other things to line their pockets with someone else's hard-earned money.
Disgusting, is all I can say. - epj3, on 10/10/2007, -2/+48This kind of stuff actually makes me feel sick to my stomach. It's far too common.
- ObSoLeTe, on 10/10/2007, -4/+45not really i went to a college where the biggest major was criminal justice, and most of the kids were complete *****

Digg it up, bitches. - Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+38.... Dad!?
- hypertension, on 10/10/2007, -1/+35Doesn't he have to if the cop asks him to?
Seriously -- I'm just asking. - Ragnar0k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+33Although he "totally didn't care" about the camera he suddenly becomes a lot nicer and then is all worried about him committing suicide.
Yeahhu...
-Rag - j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -1/+33Sounds like a police state to me when there are nine given things a cop can make up to put an innocent person in a cage. Guilty until proven innocent, right?
- j0keR, on 10/10/2007, -3/+35A surefire way to get your face smashed in is to allow a cop to know you're recording him. He'll beat the ***** out of you and take your camera. It's best to hide the camera and not tell them about it. Or wear a press vest or something.
- jmp2071, on 10/10/2007, -1/+33Every cop in Missouri is like that. I'm from Saint Louis and have yet to meet a cop(and I've met a lot) that isnt a crazy hillbilly. I think being a nutjob is a requirement to be a cop in the state. They all think they are god and should be treated like so. The young cops who have something to prove are the worst. They ***** with people for absolutely no reason. The cops in the area I live are the main reason i'm moving out of state. ***** Missouri
- badfrog, on 10/10/2007, -7/+37The problem with being a cop, is I'd have to live on a cop's wages.
Which is kind of another scary thought... You don't get the best candidates with low wages. - AQMessiah, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31HA! You can't even do THAT in NY anymore. Time to take some power away from them.

- threethirty, on 10/10/2007, -4/+33they should string this pig up
- ganjacide, on 10/10/2007, -4/+32this is seriously how the majority of cops are here in Missouri.
- asskicker32, on 10/10/2007, -8/+35Shouldnt it have been... "I can make up nine things to arrest you *for*"?
I think the real crime here is the poor english competencies in middle america's law enforecement professionals. - gharding, on 10/10/2007, -4/+30Well my morning routine involves smoking crack, masturbating in front of children, and knocking over mailboxes.
- ReadItAndWeep, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27Here is an example of what you are talking about.
This video shows a cop EXECUTE an Iraq War vet. In the video, the vet is lying on ground and the cop is standing over him with his gun drawn. The vet tells the cop he was in the military and that "he was on his side". The cop then asks him to get up off of the ground. The vet complies with the officer and begins to get up. Then, for no apparent reason, the cop shoots the guy three times. I guess simply arresting him would have been too much of a hastle.

ps. The cop was recently acquitted of all charges against him which arose from this incident. - theballdredge, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27disobeying a lawful order citizen, now on about your business before they black bag you. GPs point is that if the police want to arrest you, they can come up with a reason. what about that dude a couple days ago who bought something from circuit city, manager wouldnt let him leave so he called the cops, and the cop arrested HIM.
- hippykiller, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25I just watched a video on CNN.com about Americas most dangerous jobs and cop was not one of them.
- GMullen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25yes he does if a cop tells you to get out of you car you must do as he says or you can be arrested
AINAL call yours - lewikee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24So you know some cops that aren't decent human beings? I think only decent human beings should be cops.
- da_bradler, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24The problem is cops seem to forget that they are serving us not the other way around. Police officers are given the privilege by us the public. there should be more overview on the police then any other agency I think since they are not elected and reap more benefits then they should. the police act like there in the army or something like they volunteered as opposed to being hired
- unpaidbill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+23running around in a car with a video camera running is looking for trouble? interesting, are you a cop perhaps? obviously this guy should have had a car in his camera because that cop freaked the ***** out. when that cop realized he had a camera running he shut the ***** up and started acting like a human. when he first pulled that kid over the cop was acting like gods gift to the world. justified camera use, everyone should have one in their car.
- Piedramente, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22The video shows he signaled as well as someone else leaving the lot.
This cop definitely in the wrong here.... - Monk22, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23st. George is just outside st. Louis. there's an old guy that has been running ads for YEARS about this. he pays out of his own pocket because its so ridiculous. there's one road they sit on all day and bust people non stop for 2-3 miles an hour over its *****. ill try and find the commercial the old guy runs and get it up on the interwebs.
- Amablue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22That's a BS excuse. He stopped the kid in the parking lot when he'd done nothing wrong. He asked what he'd done and the cop flips out. Then the cop starts telling him that he can make up stuff to put him in jail for. He wasn't a smart ass at all when the cop flipped out. That was just to cover his own ass. The kid had every right to be there. Presence in a public place is not inherently suspicious nor is ti probable cause.
