- AWBoy666, on 05/05/2009, -37/+164PS: The "racy" photo released is just a modeling shot with some side-boob. I've seen MUCH worse on prime-time TV. This is manufactured news at its worst. Buried again if I could.
- ironhide, on 05/05/2009, -79/+201"Carrie Prejean claims foes of her same-sex marriage views released them."
Did they force you to pose for them too? - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -121/+216Those are some Christian values you got there, sweetie. Fake boobs. Nude pics. And, YOU think you get to JUDGE others? LOL.
- CaptCarrot, on 05/05/2009, -46/+133Yeppers, unless you're a perfect person you don't get to judge anybody, nor have any form of opinion about society. Thank goodness you're not judging Carrie Prejean, lest someone might call hypocrisy.
- Coven, on 05/05/2009, -14/+79I think I speak for many of us when I say: Post the rest of the pictures!
- smacksaw, on 05/05/2009, -30/+86She's the one who put her life out there FOR JUDGES TO JUDGE.
Who judges a beauty pageant? Judges. And who else? The viewers who do or do not watch it.
Contrary to your limited understanding of US history, this country was founded upon fierce debate that was highly unpleasant. Our right to free speech ensures criticism, not civility.
Don't be a revisionist. - Verchiel77, on 05/05/2009, -26/+78Why do the nutter masses fail to grasp this basic concept: she's got every right to speak her mind and to pose however she pleases.
What she does *not* have is the right to lecture about morality without being rightfully derided as having no credibility after peeling for cash. - sultanknish, on 05/06/2009, -37/+81She didn't judge anyone. She expressed her values.
You are doing your best to smear her, which shows how pathetic your own values are. - amoirae, on 05/05/2009, -12/+53No one is trying to stop her from talking.
She is being held responsible for what she said.
Adults are supposed to be responsible for what they say and do.
Why are you trying to absolve her responsibility under a guise of freedom of speech? - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -44/+83So, she whored her body out for money. Conservatives are OK with that as long as she's doesn't like the "queers," right?
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -22/+61lol. You can't be serious. I believe in free speech and I'm a conservative, but the way conservatives are whining about this is annoying me. Her opinion is stupid and bigoted in nature. She has the right to say what she wants and I have every right to call her a ***** idiot. You just want people to shut up and let her say what she wants. Hitler said what he wanted, should we be nice? Muslims talk about ethnically cleansing jews... oh lets be nice with that freedom of speech.
This country was built on people that have the right to say what they say and holding them accountable for it is important too. What is wrong with the media today? They practice the ideal you're talking about her. Politician comes on the show, talks ***** and they're not challenged. People need to start firing back. There needs to be speech.
Bigoted morons like this "bitch" (yes I said bitch) need to be ostracized by society. Bugga bugga. That's non-violent non-government social justice. - Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -24/+58This is about human rights. The majority does not get to decide if a minority is equal or not. If that was the case we would still have slaves.
- ironhide, on 05/05/2009, -10/+40Nice, do you kiss your sister with that mouth?
- ironhide, on 05/05/2009, -23/+53We already did that too. Pointing out her (and your) hypocrisy is just icing on the cake.
- Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -19/+49She has said she is against gay marriage. I would judge her the same as if she said she was against interracial marriage. She may not be a hypocrite "even though she is really not following the path of christ she claims to." but she is still intolerant.
- Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -7/+36I like to refer to it as healthy sexual behavior. Why should women be demonized for expressing there sexuality when men are not? But she does claim to be a christian so that goes against her moral code. She is fine with me for being naked. I do not agree with her when she actively tries to force her values upon a minority.
- Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -33/+61Christians are the ones who preach "Judge not lest the be judged yourself." My moral philisophy has nothing to say about that. Is says you do not have to tolerate intolerance. You are able to judge people. She is a bigot.
- mediablitz, on 05/06/2009, -5/+33"If you are a heterosexual, red-blooded male and you do not find this woman attractive, then I think you are being disingenuous..."
Yes, because if you don't like fake hair color, fake boobs, and fake emotion, you aren't a man?
I find intelligence, humor, and natural beauty attractive. She has not one of those qualities. Salma Hayek would be a good example.
It says a LOT about the Republican base that Palin and Bachmann are so popular. Any sign of attractiveness is all it takes. Never mind what actually comes out of their mouths. The facade is all that is needed.
Good looking women are a dime a dozen. They lose their appeal very quickly, when they open their mouths and show themselves to be dolts. - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -7/+35What exactly is wrong with attacking a person? Are you saying Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, Bin Laden are all above being attacked?
Let's see what the issue is... she's bigoted. She wants to control a specific part of the lives of others through government because she holds a specific religious view. ***** her and ***** her Christian beliefs. - alexanEmpire, on 05/06/2009, -4/+31Pics or it didn't happen!
- FredFredrickson, on 05/05/2009, -21/+48So if she got up to the podium and said "I think whites are the master race, and all others deserve nothing better than death," which certainly would have been her opinion, then nobody would have the right to hate her for it?
Gimme a beak. Stop being an apologist for a bigot. - StarCMC, on 05/05/2009, -30/+57"but I don’t think these causes are going to advocate for her,” Ken Baker of E! News told NBC."
And Mr. Baker's credentials are, what, exactly? - madtechnologist, on 05/05/2009, -50/+77I don't see anything un-Christian about this. I'm a Christian and I don't have a problem with nudity. Where's the hypocrisy here? I don't understand why the Leftists keep smearing these women. Is there really that much sexism still on the Left? Are you people really afraid of strong, conservative women?
- cnycompguy, on 05/06/2009, -14/+40you all seem to think that freedom of speech means you can say anything at all without having to deal with the consequences.
Freedom of speech means the government won't stop you from saying political stuff, religious stuff, whatever.
Freedom of speech does not protect you from making an ass of yourself and having people laugh at your ignorance. - FredFredrickson, on 05/05/2009, -9/+35This woman stated that she is against a certain group of people being allowed to marry merely because she doesn't personally agree with their lifestyle, and WE'RE the hateful ones? Please.
- freedomjoe, on 05/05/2009, -4/+30Madtech, I used the qualifier, "faux" christians -- as in, pretending to be christian.
You see a lot of them here on Digg, and they are angry, bigoted racists who in no way exemplify the Christian behavior I was taught.
Your beliefs re homosexuality are not the issue. It's when faux Christians try to legislate things against homosexual marriage, hate crimes, etc that I have a problem. Politics and true spirituality have no place together. The Christ I learned about would never advocate telling others how to live their lives or behaving as if we were in a position to judge others.
True Christians should accept others and find the good in them, even when they don't understand their choices. As for not believing that homosexuality is right, yes, I have an issue with that. You are not Christ. You are not God. Judgment is God's, not man's. Therein lay the hypocrisy. - gfryesc, on 05/06/2009, -20/+46she was asked a question, she didn't go looking for trouble. Her views on this subject are valid and were conveyed civilly to the question that was asked of her.
If you really want to tar and feather someone, why not go after that ***** Perez Hilton? His question was valid but the response didn't deserve a 0 score from him, and his tirade after the pageant was uncalled for. He's the villain in this. - inactive, on 05/06/2009, -8/+33I dont like her face personally...and the fake tittys are a turn off too.
- Frankyfan3, on 05/05/2009, -4/+28You're talking about people who don't see the difference between secular/civil marriage and religious marriage.
- AWBoy666, on 05/05/2009, -91/+115It's disheartening to watch people attempt to destroy someone's life for nothing other than voicing an opinion. Pathetic behavior. You should all be ashamed. This country was built upon the idea that we can all voice our opinions and have them taken into account.
- mikeinto, on 05/05/2009, -0/+24And so is Perez Hilton.
- freedomjoe, on 05/05/2009, -90/+113Of course they forced her to pose naked. Like Palin, nothing is ever these Faux "Christians" fault. They are exempt because God told them so.
- eir574, on 05/06/2009, -5/+27"she is universally beautiful, by today's standard of beauty"
Do you have some sort of simple list of characteristics that we are all required to think constitute beauty? - inactive, on 05/06/2009, -7/+29Did MAP say something like,"the bible says nothing about virginity. Nothing.?" Actually, it says quite a lot about it. This goes to show you for a vapid pie brained idiot who also has a foul mouth, and is probably a really screwed up drag queen. And people who are not superficial do not say things like, "I'm probably one of the least superficial people I know." LOL! This again shows you for a vapid.......http://theperplexedobserver.blogspot.com/2008/06/b ...
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -48/+70I'm sorry, but is she not entitled to her opinion?
It's not like she's writing law or anything. - eir574, on 05/06/2009, -7/+27"lol, so condescending..."
How is that condescending? He'll almost certainly only see pictures of her, and in those pictures she will almost certainly be wearing makeup, at least so long as she's still making the rounds in the beauty pageant circuits. If he could see her in a more natural state, he might change his mind on whether she's attractive, but that's unlikely to happen. That's all I meant. If you read more into my statement than that
"There again, yea I do see things in black and white,"
When that gets to the point at which you can't accept that those who disagree with you on whether a woman is attractive could in fact be expressing their honest opinion, which just happens to differ from yours in ways that you don't understand (and/or refuse to see), then I think you've gone just a tad overboard. The benefit, though, is that you're right 100% of the time and anyone who ever disagrees with you is wrong, even on trivial issues like this. I wonder what you'd do if you were married and your husband wasn't attracted to this woman? Would you get upset because the only possibility you're willing to consider is that he secretly desires her and won't admit it?
You really are easily provoked, aren't you? - Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -6/+26I tolerate your behavior until it affects the public good. When you are passing laws like prop 8 you are actively going out of your way to subvert the rights of a minority. I cannot tolerate that. Nore can I ignore it.
- Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -14/+34Strong women are intellegent. You know like Hillary. Even Condi Rice. I am not saying you cannot be beautifull and intellegent, that is far from the case. I personally think hillary was really cute back in the day. But obviously this girl is not going that path.
- FredFredrickson, on 05/05/2009, -5/+25Don't cut yourself with that sharp wit there, Michael. /s
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -9/+28yes... tolerance ≠ acceptance.... there is a difference.
I don't drink or smoke... however, I easily tolerate the fact that some friends and associates drink and smoke. I don't condemn them for it. But I don't accept smoking and drinking as OK. It's their personal choice, but I disagree with them on that matter. However, they are still good friends. - clvngodess, on 05/06/2009, -13/+32Well as I recall, wasn't it Vanessa Williams who got, um, stripped of her title in one of these objectification contests for the nakey nakey photos? So it would stand to reason that Ms. Nutter-Butter will be, um, stripped of hers.
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -6/+25"marriage is specifically a heterosexual contract."
Why? - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -14/+32Individual rights are not subject to a democratic vote. End of story.
- Hetman, on 05/05/2009, -16/+34Why do you care that two loving adults get marriad?
- homercles337, on 05/05/2009, -14/+32I know that retards like to think that their opinion is just as important as everyone else's, but its not. And no, this country was not built on taking everyone's opinion into account.
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -12/+30Fair of face, dark of soul. No thanks.
- Frankyfan3, on 05/06/2009, -4/+22... and then abandoned her pageant duties as a Miss California to promote NOM and whine about being attacked for answering a question honestly. (although, if you listen to her original answer she attempts to placate the equal rights movement ever so slightly)
Hey, if someone answers honestly that they don't believe people should be able to marry someone of a different race then we should just commend them & refrain from voicing opposition to that answer?
Ooooo K - Frankyfan3, on 05/06/2009, -3/+21The sad part is that the prudes from the Miss USA pageant may be forced to do something if those other pictures are more risque.
And then people will blame it on gay marriage hysteria when it really boils down to archaic & puritanical corporate pageant rules. - ironhide, on 05/05/2009, -6/+23So another bit of immorality. She had to know what the contract stated, so she lied to get in to the pageant.
- ironhide, on 05/05/2009, -11/+28Um, that would be MissAmericanPie and StarCMC.
