- Veronica98, on 09/30/2008, -16/+106Another day, another Lie. Where is the outrage? We are a Banana Republic! When a Presidential Candidate can pull all the stunts and gimmicks McCain has pulled, along with all the flip-flops, some in the same day, the erratic behavior, and pick a dangerously unqualified VP (not bashing her- I'm not qualified either) and still be in the race and get media coverage we have become a freaking SITCOM as a country!! Why do the media even cover them anymore? It's embarrassing. 20 years ago they would have been shamed out of the race. People have no shame anymore. It's disgusting. No morals, all gimmicks & distractions. Thanks ROVE. What a great legacy you'll leave behind someday.
- SSPink, on 09/30/2008, -10/+67"Mr. McCain’s senior strategist, Steve Schmidt, said Mr. Obama’s voting record on taxes was “different from what he says out on the campaign trail” and was “a recipe for disaster for the economy.”"
Really, Steve Schmidt? "a recipe for disaster for the economy”? And what about the man you helped get re-elected in 2004, what were his policies? A recipe for cinnamon rolls and sunshine?
McCain has the same economic policies as Bush and many of the same people around him as Bush, and he has the gall to claim his opponent is wrong on the economy. Good luck with that, but the American people aren't stupid enough to believe that the economic collapse is Obama's fault, the only people you are going to have on your side come election day are republican cheerleaders (who would vote for satan himself if his name had an (R) after it on the ballot), racists, and fundamentalist christofascists. - thepoliticalcat, on 09/30/2008, -9/+37Has the McCain campaign said one thing that isn't a provable lie? See, what I think is that you don't actually have any accusations that could stand up under even modest scrutiny. If I'm wrong, I'd like to know.
So go ahead. Tell me the ugly lies that Obama's campaign has made against John McCain. I promise to read them even if they're buried. No, really. Do it. - inactive, on 09/30/2008, -3/+13A POW that has received failing grades from vet organizations for his voting record.

- funkyloki, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9That sir, was nothing short of stupendous.
- FairDinkumMate, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9Apart from the fact that you fail to provide any information about what you are referring, the one thing(other than Obama's name) that you did mention is wrong.
NEITHER candidate has put forward a proposal for Universal Health Care. This is unfortunate as if Americans could get the MSM & Insurance/Pharmaceutical Industry lobby groups blinkers removed & actually get a little unbiased, un-spun factual information on Universal Health Care I think you'd find that the VAST majority of people would have a better level of Healthcare at a lower cost.
The US spends more per person on health care than any other developed nation & yet more than a quarter of the population have no access to regular medical care! That's just ridiculous. If America can't figure out that a healthy population is good for everyone, well - who knows.
I am an Australian & our Universal Health Care system costs 1.5% of taxable income. For that, we get one of the best medical systems in the world. Do the math & see if your health insurance premiums cost you(&/or your employer) more than 1.5% of your taxable income. It's amazing what you can buy in the health care field when you can negotiate prices with suppliers based on volume & don't have an insurance company in the middle taking a huge cut of every $ spent! - jasonstahl, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8Actually, I had ready Factcheck.org's write up of the debate and remembered no such statement. Going by the summary they were even at 5 a piece. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide which were simple misstatements, which were small exaggerations and which were flat lies.
How do you ask? By actually linking to my source. You should try it sometime.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecki ... - twich35, on 09/30/2008, -1/+9Thats the thing, YOU think they are burried because it's against Obama, but in reality I would think its because the information is false, and/or sources invalid
- bowens44, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8Be more specific. so far you haven't said anything.....you probably didn't watch the debate.
- TastyWheat, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8Dumbest argument ever. Tax policy doesn't matter, don't you get it? Any money they don't get out of your pocket has to be borrowed or printed. When they print the money, it still comes out of your pocket in the form of inflation! Until they balance the budget tax policy is a pointless issue.

/hello, easy there! lol - hiriumi, on 09/30/2008, -4/+11I can almost hear McCain camp saying, "Liberal elitist media." after reading this article. The huge difference between Republicans and so-called "liberal elitist media" is that the "liberal elitist media" has facts to back up. The conservative media Fox News only smears. It is a shame that it works for American people, but I hope it will be different this time.
- Cadicus, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7I also don't ever recall hearing Obama lie about it.... Link me that.

- jdotter, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7@Ricemanstm You missed an important detail in that link you provided.
"Includes contributions from PACs and individuals."
Check this link for a clearer picture of the point you tried to make. It breaks it down by source, PAC's broken out from individual contributions.
http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/09/update-fan ...
It shows Obama has gotten all but $6,000 from individuals. I work for a big company and I have individually contributed to his campaign but I'd hardly say that means my company has gained political influence through my contributions.
On the contrary it would seem McCain is the one with the problem. These men are in fact at the top of his campaign and most certainly have influence with the Senator.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&si ... - linwnil, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6I would say the only thing McCain did right and true may be his stance against torture. A stance shared but most decent people; and Obama gives him credit for that. None of his other acts or beliefs are really worth much.

Because most of it leads to Rick Davis. - Jasuus, on 09/30/2008, -5/+10The scary thing is that this is a battle for the 10% of Americans who are undecided. Unfortunately, the undecided don't care about facts - winning their hearts is all about achieving a good sound bite, regardless of logical accuracy. This is something the Republicans have artfully mastered to the detriment of the country, as evidenced by the last 8 years...
- wendelgee2, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5That's just not true. There was plenty of misinformation on both sides, but most of the "lies" in the debate were just incomplete information. See for yourself:
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecki ... - drmangrum, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5My only fear is November 4th will come and just the McCain campaign will pull something out of left field that sways the fence sitters before it can be debunked.
The real campaigning has yet to begin. I would expect the full onslaught of mudslinging to being around Oct 15th. -
