- FredFredrickson, on 11/07/2009, -8/+155The big shocker here? Michelle Bachmann actually knows how to read.
- mkriss5681, on 11/07/2009, -7/+91Do inner voices count as sources?
- Tenlow, on 11/07/2009, -7/+87Welcome to the republican party!
- KingNerd, on 11/07/2009, -9/+61The people she represents must be retards.
- bjornski, on 11/07/2009, -11/+63Compared to reading RedState, she could be reading Cracked, Fark and SomethingAwful and get more accurate information.
- Lomstradamus, on 11/07/2009, -10/+56Michelle Bachmann is such an ignorant *****!
- ManUnitdFan, on 11/07/2009, -7/+50The New York Times is a legitimate news source. Their editorial page is liberal, but their reporting isn't. So yes, if she switched to the New York Times, that would be a gigantic step up.
- ArrowheadAddict, on 11/07/2009, -2/+42Sarah Palin is so mad right now. She couldn't even name her sources when put on the hotseat.
- 7Wiseguy, on 11/07/2009, -11/+51This bitch is insane.
- EricSchC1, on 11/07/2009, -3/+40Unless you can unequivocally prove we all go around spouting off ***** that couldn't be further from the truth, despite evidence that at least might suggest we are right from time to time, I suggest you shut the ***** up. Just because YOU don't believe it, doesn't mean its untrue.
Calling someone a liar with no evidence is as bad as the "lies" you think you're exposing. - Laminarcissus, on 11/07/2009, -4/+37Yet another creepy liar Ron Paul has chosen to associate with.
- sonicpentatonic, on 11/07/2009, -1/+34I just want to say again how sorry us Minnesotans are that this crazy bitch is still around. We tried, we really did. I promise next election cycle we will do more.
Sincerely,
Sane Minnesotans - fasda, on 11/07/2009, -5/+37that would credit her with the intelligence to make her own opinions
- homercles337, on 11/07/2009, -3/+35Look, im not surprised. This woman is certifiably insane, i dont care if she is informed by Faux News or Jebus, insane is insane. ***** crazy extremism is extreme ***** craziness.
- drex8, on 11/07/2009, -4/+35Why is this woman still in the news? We have very poor checks and balances in the system as to who gets elected.
- AndrewDB, on 11/07/2009, -1/+32While on the call, she gave this rundown of where she gets the information she needs to do her job as a member of Congress:
"The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning out of bed, I grab my cell phone and I look to RedState ... and I feel like I at least am kind of prepared to get out of bed, and then I go read the editorial page of Investors Business Daily or the Wall Street Journal for a wider background of knowledge for the day... I just find it is one of the most credible sources of information out there." <-- This is a direct quote from her.
If you don't understand, she's pulling from sources that AREN'T reliable. Redstate is about as reliable for news as talking to the ***** I just flushed down the toilet. - MWeather, on 11/07/2009, -6/+34"WSJ and IBD are serious news"
She doesn't read the news section, just the editorials. - Keggluneq, on 11/07/2009, -3/+27And I thought she got all her news from Jeebus. I guess Red State is close enough.
- jezsik, on 11/07/2009, -2/+23Sarah Palin can read?
- homercles337, on 11/07/2009, -2/+23When the *****, for ***** sake, did TRUTH become so ***** relative that any ***** ***** could spout off his/her opinion as fact? When the ***** did that happen?
- Disgod, on 11/07/2009, -0/+18Wait.... I thought she read all of them.
- ftc08, on 11/07/2009, -1/+18Meth addicts mostly. Her district is just north of the Twin Cities, extending about halfway up the state. Lots of rural-but-still-close-to-stuff terrain, religion, and lots and lots of meth.
- ygugsa295, on 11/07/2009, -3/+20Why does Michelle I. Hatethecensus hold office at a national level? If she ran as an MP here, she'd be laughed out of Ottawa.
- theseventhdawn, on 11/07/2009, -0/+16We need a Minnesotas Redemption Satuday; Franken vs Bachmann in the octogon .... I'll pay to watch that ...
- belthize, on 11/07/2009, -3/+19The 'I'm rubber you're glue' gambit ? Really ?
Good lord the discourse from both sides gets measurably worse every day. - lolerskate, on 11/07/2009, -2/+17Nutcases often share the same case.
- Insightful, on 11/07/2009, -1/+16WSJ counts online circulation so it is not an apples to apples comparison. While WSJ is a good newspaper, it really does not compare to the tier 1 news papers like NYT and WaPo but more with the tier 2s such as LA Times and Chicago Tribune. In business news, however, it is bar none.
Sure WaPo is cutting its staff, it does not have too if it does not want to since it owns Kaplan and Kaplan is a cash cow. Similar with WSJ. Now that it is part of the Murdoch empire, it now has a huge backing.
Lastly, WSJ editorials department is now a print version of Fox and both act as a propaganda outlet for the GOP. So disaffected GOPers flock there because no one else seems to listen to whatever they want to say. - Disgod, on 11/07/2009, -4/+17And for as stupid as that is, it has what to do with his political views? This is one of those wonderful non sequitur arguments, him sending the fish to someone he doesn't like has nothing to do with his policy decisions.
- MrSpontaneous, on 11/07/2009, -1/+14Hahaha, nice one. IBD was responsible for that horribly flawed survey that showed that doctors were heavily against health reform: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/09/ibdtipp-doc ...
- jezsik, on 11/07/2009, -3/+16Actually, a lot less. There's only one party, but it has two factions.
- oriondr, on 11/07/2009, -0/+13No, she merely has the blogs read to her.
- Disgod, on 11/07/2009, -1/+14Or hopefully at the very least very, very embarrassed and wanting to kick her out of office asap.
- zoomer123, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12She thought it was a Gotcha question. LOL. [crying inside]
- TobiasParker, on 11/07/2009, -2/+14How many are in office?
- terminal157, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12What she essentially did here is admit, in clear language, that facts have little to no place in her intellectual life. She reads the thinking of other republicans, picks what sounds good to her, and runs with it. This is the foundation on which she makes her decisions.
- mousewarmer, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12yeah, we all do it, but you'd hope a member of congress would actively seek out multiple points of view...
- parsifal, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12As a resident of Minnesota, I humbly apologize for Michele Bachmann. I have no idea how anyone here voted for her. We're really quite nice.
- niradg, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12RedState lost any little credibility it had when its founder called a sitting supreme court judge a "goat ***** child molester"
- Disgod, on 11/07/2009, -5/+17[Citation Needed]
- Banda7, on 11/07/2009, -1/+12GTFO out of my state
- inactive, on 11/07/2009, -2/+13This is a well known phenomenom called confirmation bias. It affects liberals and conservatives alike.
Anyone on this site who seriously thinks that this is only limited to conservatives is more naive than I thought.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias - Insightful, on 11/07/2009, -0/+10Wrong. Had you subscribe to WSJ - you would know that print and online WSJ edition are separate.
- johnnick, on 11/07/2009, -1/+11Well, you do have to give Bachmann credit - although ***** crazy at least she can name a newspaper that she reads.
- AngryFox, on 11/07/2009, -0/+10I can't believe she so freely claims to believe that "editorials" are "news". Wow. Just... wow. A politician that readily admits to seeking "facts" from "opinions".
Who else is scared? - elliotys, on 11/07/2009, -0/+9I love the "born again meth-addicts".
" Why would god have made methamphetamine if we weren't supposed to use it?" - icewater, on 11/07/2009, -3/+12Captain Crazy.
- Tonicks, on 11/07/2009, -0/+9As an Minnesotan, I am really embarrassed. She's a fluke.
- elliotys, on 11/07/2009, -1/+9To all the Minnesotan's apologizing for Bachmann, don't worry it's alright. We know a lot of you didn't vote for her, and her retardedness is not your fault. Remember you guys gave us the movie Fargo, so it's all good.
- treehugger87, on 11/07/2009, -1/+8Implying that if I was a congressman and I told you that I only read Think Progress and the Huffington Post for my news and information you would be deeply concerned about my ability to be a legislator.
