Geno Petro- michaeljohns, on 07/28/2008, -0/+7Thanks very much, Geno. Keep in touch, and let me know whenever I can be helpful. --Michael.
- logdesigner, on 07/31/2008, -0/+15Can't wait for him to get into any office. Especially Congress, because you know the Republican National Committee would make that one happen. He is the exact fiscal conservative that we need in Congress.
- olbroad, on 08/11/2008, -0/+7Mr Johns, I wish you wouldn't include your biography with every single post. It appear as shameless self promotion. Just put it in the "about" part of your blog. :)
- michaeljohns, on 08/11/2008, -1/+8I think that's part of the blog template. I didn't add it; it accompanies the URL. Thanks though. --Michael.
- olbroad, on 08/11/2008, -0/+5You can actually change the template quite easily in Blogger. :) Love your posts though. Very informative!
- johnny2k, on 08/11/2008, -1/+8olbroad, what you need to know is that we all do "shameless self-promotion" at many points in our life. Ever apply for a job? Send in a resume? Try to get an article published on a national news site?
No, Michael Johns, do not change your template. New people that come to your columns will come in on that link, and your credibility will always be immediately established right there. If you change your template, it will NEVER show up. Don't do it!
By the way, I am very impressed by your credentials. You have gone a long way up the ladder in this life. What many of us would like to know is if there is a chance for any aspiring writers out here in the blogosphere? Can we "make it" without the credentials that you have?
I want to thank ~olbroad~ for the comments that brought up the subjects of: 1) selling ourselves (self-promotion), and 2) the possibilities of success for the people that don't have a lot of the credentials to promote ourselves with.
Thanks for your columns, MJ, I appreciate the info!
John- michaeljohns, on 08/12/2008, -2/+6Thanks for the kind words, John. I don't think I'm saying anything new when I say that the future of political journalism and commentary will play out online. That full transformation has not yet happened, but it's coming. Anyone a part of it, in my view, can be both successful and influential. Keep up the great work. --Michael.
