- dgoddard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Russ, how on *earth* can you say there is no controversy, when you and your wife both were (as usual) at the center of it?

- mlorrey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Well, if you'd like, we can promise that at least one of us is going to try to get arrested during the course of this event!
- Dalebert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I will be performing unlicensed circumcisions for free. Will that work?

- mlorrey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If its controversy you want wrt the FSP, here's an article about an attack on Jason Sorens by campus leftists at his University:

- Sandwiches_Time, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10I think I'd rather take a power drill to my skull than meet John Stossel.
- onelikeseabass, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3this is politics, not Pi, but thank you for your overwhelmingly insightful post
- republick, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I would recommend a nail gun. You will get a lot more penetration to reach your tiny brain.

- washingtonydc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9The only subject I would want advice from John Stossel is about grooming fine mustaches.
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I love it when he talks about how rich teachers are, but he always forgets to mention the thousands of dollars in loan teachers have to take out because of how long their schooling takes them.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4John Stossel, self-declared martyr for the libertarian cause? The guy is so low on the liberal radar, so beneath contempt, so completely devoid of any substantive value, that I can't even think of anything bad to say about him except that no one really cares about him.
Hell, the only reason I opened this is because I wanted to discover why the libertarians like this guy...and, nope, nothing. Do libertarians even know why they like this guy? - JasonRand, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Liberty lovers of all stripes are welcome to visit the Gimme Liberty Bar in the 3D virtual world of Second Life.
We have updated the rules or our virtual drinking game to include drinking every time John Stossel's name is mentioned on Free Talk Live, which we listen to nightly. (7-10 ET, mon-sat)
http://gimmeliberty.com - Sunwalker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't think that John Stossel is a libertarian. He is a tool of the corporate elite.
Check out these videos where he gets bitch-slapped literally and figuratively.

And yes, they are full of *****. "Controlling for race" simply means bumping up the scores of the worst performing students in public schools. Changing the weighting or the score of a student based on the color of their skin is bias my friend, no matter how you spin it.
In fact, according to the "About Us" page,
"Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive
research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing,
and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."
It's a progressive research center dedicated to debunked conservative misinformation. Yeah, real impartial source. I'm no conservative, but it seems like the only thing Demopublicans care about these days is trying to pillory the members of the opposing faction of the party.
John Stossel definately should have been better prepared for that interview however.- Sunwalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No one claims Media Matters is not a liberal organization. The problem you have is that they document everything they claim right out in the open.
http://mediamatters.org/
So you can say they are liberals, but you can't prove that what they document is false.
Stossel, David Horowitz and Bill O'Reilly are always calling Media Matters sleaze merchants, liars and the lowest of the low, but they never actually disprove anything they claim.

That is the fault of government regulations. Hell, I could have taught a high school class better than 75% of my teachers after just graduating high school. Not to mention that many of them get their entire higher education paid for by the taxpayers, and they et their salaries paid, again, by the taxpayers.
I am a libertarian, and I think that John Stossel is great.
It doesn't matter if you are stealing a little or a lot from me. The point is that you are stealing. - dreepa, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Check out the trailer from 2007's Liberty Forum?
