- backoff34, on 10/10/2007, -5/+68***** Rove and the media.
They are about as far from fair and balanced as Iraq is from being free. - diggerydood, on 10/10/2007, -6/+66Remember it's now called Corporate Interest Media - not Mainstream Media.
- SickMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+54A guy like Rove doesn't retire voluntarily to "spend more time with his family". Trust me, he's going for a reason, and we'll probably find out why soon...
- polyGone, on 10/10/2007, -7/+45Yeah, we're *****.
- deathproof, on 10/10/2007, -6/+40He said he resigned to spend more time with his family. I bet the troops wish they could do that. Thanks for nothing Karl Rove you pussy bitch.
- dgrant, on 10/10/2007, -8/+41Karl Rove's tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried. Ever.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -4/+36In time, that "MC Rove" clip is going to become as infamous as Nixon's "I am not a crook" footage.
- lithuin, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22My theory is that his current body is wearing out, and he's got to find a fresh corpse and 13 newborn babies to perform the right of Ashen-Llama to reinvigorate his dessicated body before people start noticing the excess makeup and funny smell.
- DJCult, on 10/10/2007, -4/+23I'd like to shake the hand of the man who is the mastermind behind E. My pills have been good recently.
- kryptman40k, on 10/10/2007, -4/+22***** the media indeed!
i put my money where my mouth is an canceled my cable. I'm sick of hearing CNNs *****! - karenw, on 10/10/2007, -7/+23Karl Rove can suck my dick.
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18Why not, he's already ***** you in the ass.
- Scintillatus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17I was unaware that "if you don't vote for us YOU MIGHT DIE" was the height of political genius.
- supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Nah, he's immortal. Dick Cheney bit him.
- eliot2000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Karl Rove: The first man to ever successfully polish a turd.
- Satanael, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14What the hell. Have I slipped into the Twilight Zone?
- killerofkiller, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Jesus Christ. submitter.. way to copy paste a title that doesn't fit.. now it looks like Rove is the mastermind behind Ecstasy..
- davecor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Find it strange that the media are gushing about Rove? I bet every network is currently courting him as a contributor/ reporter/ late night talk-show host.
The collective media will drop to their knees and open wide to anyone that they think will generate ratings, especially now that they are losing to the internet. - supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13No cable at my house anymore either. I can get most of the crap I watch off over-the-air free HDTV and the rest I obtain by downloading the shows....um......from itunes yeah thats it.
- DangerCollie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14If Karl Rove is what we've become, then we are pathetic.
- ArchAngel21x, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13It is odd that the media suddenly admires him the moment he resigns.
- palantir, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16The truth doesn't taste so good does it.
- cortlandjim, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12I just call him the "Scumbag who helped steal at least one election, maybe more." Can't wait for the truth to come out.
- lithuin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10FTA: "generally, where there’s brains, there’s Rove.”
Politics aside, am I the only one who thought "Zombie" when he read this? - davecor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Go watch the "War Room" and you learn that James Carville and George Stephanopolous could have gotten Mr. Potatohead elected president.
Campaigns and elections have become such a refined science - watch for every election to be close to 50/50 with massive court battles afterwards. - Kinkistyle, on 10/10/2007, -6/+14Well he DID get a monkey elected Leader of the "Free World", so by some accounts he could be considered a sinister mastermind of tremendous proportion.
- knobtwiddler, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11the man needs to be in prison.
he definitely was involved in election fraud at the very least. - cortlandjim, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Please someone save America from ***** that think he was a genius. One day your going to need your Civil Liberties and wonder were they are! I bet then you will be wishing your team hadn't bent you over in the name of "protection from terrorism".
- ssravp, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Agree with him or not Karl Rove knows how to get people elected. The only example you need is the last presidential election.
- DangerCollie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8To Monolith the ends justify the means.
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Why do you love the Republican party more than America?
- Waiting2awake, on 10/10/2007, -7/+13 It isn't kicking some ass when you break the rules. Those rules are there to protect the electorate - to support his breaking of the rules is simply insane.
- ren1999, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10The people who praise Rove are also enemies of America who should be soundly chastised with protests.
Justice demands Rove answer for directly endangering the lives of CIA agents in the field. - wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Boy genius manages to squander hopes of "permanant Republican majority" in less than 8 years. Boy genius causes his party to lose control of congress for the first time since 1994. And when the democrats take the Whitehouse, it will be the first time they have contolled both the Executive and Legislative branches since 1994. Way to go, Karl...you managed to completely screw your party over in less than a decade.
- Waiting2awake, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11 So could anyone else, if they had moral and ethical and legal lobotomies. Are you so insane as to not realize those laws that he has been breaking to keep "his boy", and "your team" in office are the same laws to keep you guys from a dictatorship...
DUMBASSES!! Man, America doesn't deserve to be saved. - nihilite, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Damn would I love to kick chris matthews in the nuts. Doesn't anyone have the courage to really profile all the corrosive bull$#!+ this guy has sown? he is a huge contributor to the impossibly divisive nature of american politics today.
- BattleStar47, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Rove is probably going to work on the next presidential election. That means that if journalists want access to the campaign, they are going to have to be buddy-buddy nice-nice with Rove.
That's what this is about. - LuciusBrutus, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10I'm sure our current crop of long standing democrats wouldn't mind using him as their advisor. I have no doubts they only care about rules when it suits them, just like the Bush admin.
- LuciusBrutus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6That is because they have spent 8 years fearing him. Now they can breath with a bit less fear.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5George W Bush is a Manchurian candidate for Osama bin Laden. He could not have helped Al Qaeda out more without arousing suspicion.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Is everyone here 14?
- diggitizer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7The only reason Rove is leaving is to give a pro Bush soundbite and reason for media to put these 'experts' on tv perpetuating the 'BUSH IS AWESOME' speech given by Rove.
Rove is meaningless. It is a ploy to get BUSH IS AWESOME on the TV, and then perpetuate that statement. Then, when this affects the failure's ratings, there will be more and more stories about how Bush's ***** face ratings improve, and then these stories too will improve ratings.
Then 2 weeks prior to Bush leaving office 138 books will be published with the title 'Bush, Visionary Leader in War Time' and / or 'War Time President'.
However, 16 days after he leaves office I will succeed in my mission to torture him to death with a reeses peanut butter / chocolate cup. Sure it will be hard, and I will have to use my imagination to kill him with this, but hell, there is as much fun in trying, as there is beating his body to a wet smear with a tyre iron.
Dear 2034: How is Diggs comment system? Did they finally fix it? I hope so. Love internet commenting circa 1998. - polyGone, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6It's a compilation of clips from people you, probably, respect. You're right. It is sensationalist crap, but it is not thinkprogress that is spewing it. All they did was take some clips off television and throw them together. It is the overall neo-conservative agenda that uses these propaganda tactics in our media.
- oracleofmist, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5It like talking to uh..uh..uh a firehydrant
- brufleth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Rove has been linked to several scandals involving the smearing of Republicans too. (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Rove#2000_George_W._Bush_presidential_campaign_and_the_sale_of_Rove_.2B_Co. for examples) Bush was not even the best Republican on the block back before he his "election" (he was in fact appointed) to the presidency. Rove worked to hurt any political candidates which stood in the way of the Bush presidency. The color of their campaign buttons didn't make a difference to him.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"Bush WILL go down in history as one of the greatest presidents along with Reagan."
hahahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Thanks, I needed a good laugh. - wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yeah, and Hitler conquered Poland AND Austria. History judges the morality of your actions, not just the scale.
- postalblowfish7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3there's that liberal media for you
- BlacklabelSAR, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7#1. Bush wasn't "elected" he was appointed after a rigged election.
#2. The democrats are no better. We need to stop thinking in terms of Republicans and Democrats, the illusion of choice. Wake up. - donkevin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2*Too, *their, *its
