- carterartist, on 07/07/2008, -4/+82And yet even tho he refuses to work (already copying Bush's style) he is getting credit for the Veteran's bill that he opposed in speeches (but not by vote since he didn't vote) What a clown.
- fatbyjhnsn, on 07/07/2008, -4/+42Keep in mind that John McCain was the most absent Senator. He misses more votes than anyone else, still gets paid six figures for not doing his job, and stays on programs like the Senate health care plan while he proposes cutting out yours. Nice guy.
- Cuchanu, on 07/07/2008, -2/+28What nerve he has to give them a hard time about taking a day off when he has been on the road for more than a year running for president!
- jbdobd, on 07/07/2008, -2/+24Do nursing homes have recess?
- ethornquist, on 07/07/2008, -2/+19All politicians are hypocrites some of the time.
McCain's hypocrisy, though, just got exposed.
I hate to use the word 'douche' to describe a presidential candidate,
but I am tempted here. - kemp34, on 07/07/2008, -0/+16I'll say it for you: McCain is an unadulterated douche.
- dunderballer, on 07/07/2008, -2/+15When senators campaign for the presidency, they should be required to take a leave of absence without pay if they are not going to show up for work, just as they would need to at any other job. I don't think McCain's opponent has been a whole lot better. I'd rather learn about the candidates by listening to their participation in congress via CSPAN rather than through a bunch of meaningless stump speeches.
- PATSCRU, on 07/08/2008, -1/+8PUDDING!
- dinobot, on 07/08/2008, -1/+7The essence of immorality is the tendency to make an exception of oneself
- frankingeneral, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5What it's like to be in politics:
1. State support for a popular position
2. Do the opposite
3. ???
4. Profit - slvrbullet87, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3What in the hell is up with Eni Faleomavaega. Only there 49% of the time, its about time AS throws somebody out on their ASS
- CosmicH, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4I'd say Obama's excuse is his campaigning, considering the fact that he entered office '05. What's McCain's excuse?
- Pittance, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3"All politicians are hypocrites some of the time."
Nah. All of the time is better. Most politicians wouldn't pass as acceptable human beings. But we have to either take what we can get, or run for office ourselves. - mickin014, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3What do people expect of a 71 old man, who looks like the crypt keeper. I even thought I seen John McCain on the FLOWMAX commerical for enlarging prostate. He is lucky someone doesn't have to carry him to the Senate to vote.
- INDOAZZ, on 07/08/2008, -1/+3America's First REAL SUPERSTAR!
- Dynasty911, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2And unfortunately, that same 71 year old man may soon become the president of the United States.
- nasalspray, on 07/08/2008, -2/+4I'll add: The U.S. Congress and every other branch of the government could use a good douche.
- bananaspiders, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3Im gonna keep it real simple and ignorant: McCain can suck it.
- roosevans, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Very funny! (I am laughing my head off!)
- Pittance, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2On that note: I think going to do a bunch of interviews to try to get a better job is a good excuse not to do my current job. But I think my boss would disagree.
But wait, aren't WE their bosses? - oldgal, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2Be careful what you wish for - seems like there is already more than enough grandstanding in the senate.
- JigoroKano, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Eni is a non-voting delegate.
- Harbinger1080, on 07/09/2008, -1/+2That's pretty good politicking... will the majority of people bother looking up how he voted? No. They'll just assume he did what he said he was going to. I like to think I'm at least a little bit crafty, but I can't fathom what it's like to be in politics.
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -3/+4Obama has missed more votes than McCain: 22% since entering office in 2005; McCain has missed 17% since entering office in 1993.

Note; I'm not a supporter of either candidate, so don't misinterpret this as a pro-McCain post. I'm simply pointing out that both candidates' absenteeism ranks in the top ten. - satanatnmtedu, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1No one wrote that. Congrats on being a bigger douchebag than McCain.
- frankingeneral, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1It's not about how many votes the missed overall, it's about how many votes they missed during the campaign season. McCain has missed more during this span. The overall numbers are skewed because a good portion of Obama's time in Senate was spent on the campaign trail.
- frankingeneral, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I think this is referencing the housing bill that ultimately helps both sides. It allows the banks to get their faulty home loans federally guaranteed provided they renegotiate the loan on terms favorable to the homeowner. I know one of the stipulations was that the new loan couldn't be for more than 80% of the appraised value of the home. Not sure what other stipulations there were for renegotiating the loan.
- Pittance, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1Cosmic: Hes old. He needs lots of naps and tends to miss votes because of those naps. And incontinence.
- relic180, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1Wasn't this the housing bill that was going to help bail out banks and not home owners anyhow? The one banks were going to use to pad their books against the most risky home loans that were probably not going to get paid back anyways?
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+1What? This is a positive article and you're complaining about McCain?! I would complain too if Congress took an unneeded and undeserved break without getting anything done!
- slvrbullet87, on 07/08/2008, -3/+2"Obama has missed more votes than McCain: 22% since entering office in 2005; McCain has missed 17% since entering office in 1993.

-thanks 8m4ck - ender7074, on 07/09/2008, -3/+1Yup, thats alot. How many has Obama missed or abstained on? What kind of percentage is that? Guess thats ok though right?
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+0If he ends up flying around in Airforce One, ill start flying around in this

- orthodoxDrew, on 07/09/2008, -6/+2I think running for President is a reasonable excuse to miss votes that would not change the course of a bill.
