Even Mike Huckabee, a McCain supporter, said McCain made a "huge mistake" by even discussing canceling the debate.
"You can't just say, 'World, stop for a moment. I'm going to cancel everything,'" Huckabee told reporters Thursday night.
Even Huckabee agrees: McCain has to learn to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Gawd, McCain is so frickin' STUPID! How could Republicans even PRETEND that he's good enough to be our President?!? - inactive, on 09/26/2008, -8/+245Awesome! That means that the financial crisis has been solved, right?
- satyr9us, on 09/26/2008, -11/+207"My friends, I was against this debate before I was for it."
- DivisibleByZero, on 09/26/2008, -16/+153I don't see why McCain needs to attend a debate that he already won....
- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -13/+123He's done ZERO debate prep, his campaign is foundering and he's having micro-strokes. Odds on Grampy taking a swing at Obama are even money.
- mediaspree, on 09/26/2008, -3/+113I like how he thought it was a choice not to attend a scheduled debate for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
- YEEK, on 09/26/2008, -3/+95Old news. This morning I saw the McCain debate victory ad claiming he already won it.
- bundwallah, on 09/26/2008, -7/+90Letterman should moderate. :)
- MrMetal, on 09/26/2008, -7/+85Republicans believe Bush is a good president. Do you really have to ask?
- MercyPolitics, on 09/26/2008, -14/+92Well, it is on again....unless he changes his mind again before tonight. It seems pretty erratic and indecisive to me.

TAKE A SIP WHENEVER

TAKE A GULP WHENEVER:

Barack Obama asks John McCain if he feels the need to play Economic Superman because his campaign advisor Rick Davis took $15,000 a month from crappy brokerage company Freddie Mac.

Study the candidate's backgrounds.
Watch the candidate's interviews.
Watch the candidates debate.
Decide who you believe is the most qualified for running America based on their history, experience, character, and choices they have made.
Decide who would be calm and collected in a crisis.
Decide who would be sturdy.
Then vote.
Our future depends on it. - sugarazor, on 09/26/2008, -9/+66Carter was definitely a better president than Bush.
- tdogg241, on 09/26/2008, -5/+58Did you seriously just use "Obama" and "doorman" in the same sentence? Your true colors are showing.
- IphtashuFitz, on 09/26/2008, -9/+60So how many times has he flip flopped in the last week?
- Phalanxia, on 09/26/2008, -11/+62I wonder why 40% of Americans are against the debate taking place.
- cusoman, on 09/26/2008, -3/+54Because people like this exist:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/26/navarrette. ... - thaprinze, on 09/26/2008, -7/+56Great, just great. Here's what's going to happen. Sen. McCain will start answering every question with "well, when I was a POW..." or "There was a time when I didn't have any ______..." He'll end up looking like he has no idea what he's doing & his best answers will be when he just repeats the things Obama's been saying for the past several months.
Then the next day I'll turn to CNN only to find that new polls still show 40-something percent support for McCain!!! Then I'll be frustrated for the rest of the day!!!
It's amazing, some people are willing to throw away everything they have worked for their entire lives & bring about hardships to their friends & families just to make sure that their homosexual neighbors won't be able to get married, or some stranger doesn't have the opportunity to abort their baby. It's enough to drive you INSANE!!!!! - bombula, on 09/26/2008, -7/+55The same 40% are against teaching evolution in schools. The same 40% are against 'intellectual elites' (except, of course, when they need surgery...). They don't want to see their doddering, flip-flopping, computer-illiterate, geriatric moron of a candidate get his ass whupped by someone with a decent brain between his ears.
- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -2/+43It'd be cool if he dropped the f bomb. Make for good TV.
- MorganMghee, on 09/26/2008, -7/+47Don't ever let them tell you you can't make a difference. If there hadn't been such a public outcry I think we would have seen a different outcome.
- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -8/+47he shall be utterly crushed, Lets see if he has that "mysterious bump" under his jacket like the other guy did.
- acaudel, on 09/26/2008, -2/+41Now watch McCain blame Obama for trying to cancel the debates.
- personadondada, on 09/26/2008, -2/+39I guess you guys didn't get the memo: McCain is a maverick. He don't give no s#%!s about what anyone thinks.
- frequentFlyer, on 09/26/2008, -4/+40I've told you, John, I'm not your ***** friend.
- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -3/+39Whew! Sidestepped that land mine. Thanks J-Mac! I'm going to go celebrate by opening up 4 credit cards and buying a bus full of porn!
- sgtiger, on 09/26/2008, -9/+44Anything McCain says during the debate I will have to run through a fact checking website.
His mouth is moving but his words are empty. - myAmygdala, on 09/26/2008, -7/+41They're even stupider, and they actually believe it?
- monarch00, on 09/26/2008, -3/+37The addition of one more conservative supreme court justice would turn the clocks in this country back 100 years. If for no other reason, people should vote Democrat just to stop that from happening.
I suppose you were one of those folks who was also for the deregulation of the banking sector. Think one or two steps ahead of yourself and you'll realize that McCain is a HUGE mistake. - troyfoley, on 09/26/2008, -4/+37What will the broadcast be rated? I'm not sure I'd want my young children witnessing this bloodbath.
- Rubiksphere, on 09/26/2008, -2/+35That was the dumbest gambit I have ever seen in politics. I only wish he stuck to his word so people would see him as the fool he is.
- DarkPrincess74, on 09/26/2008, -1/+32Some of them watch fox news and think it's not propaganda.
- brodimus, on 09/26/2008, -3/+32Mission Accomplished
- lukedamonkey, on 09/26/2008, -8/+37penis.
- Beatmiser, on 09/26/2008, -5/+32What's the over/under on McCain having a full on stroke during the debate?
- SwedishNinja, on 09/26/2008, -4/+30I don't think anyone with half a brain expected McCain not to debate. Not to so so would have been a disaster for his campaign. He bluffed, and we called him on it.
- ironhide, on 09/26/2008, -2/+27No, Obama refused to attend "town halls" which are very different from debates.
- kingmanic, on 09/26/2008, -2/+271- The "socialist" policies of Obama would be right wing or centrist in almost any other western nation.
2- The rest of advanced human civilization is actually pretty socialist from Europe to Canada to Japan. all places which are doing fine.
3- Ideology over practicality is stupid
4- It's puzzling how you think "socialist" is a bad word. - rodon, on 09/26/2008, -2/+26I'm sure they are hard at work to find some kind of inconspicuous device to help feed him the answers to the tough questions tonight.
You know, like the one Bush wore under his coat during his debate:
http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2004/10/29 ... - akruble, on 09/26/2008, -10/+34McCain: "See? I can multi-task! I went to Washington to do my job AND made it to the debate! Obama did nothing!"
Obama: *facepalm* - SpeedSteamBoat, on 09/26/2008, -1/+24ProUSADigger believes all publications that disagree with or otherwise contradict his narrow world view are propaganda while also thinking he hasn't had the wool pulled over his eyes already by real propaganda.
Here's a clue ProUSA: When it's everyone except you. It's typically just you. - hybrid45, on 09/26/2008, -7/+29"My biggest concern is that there are a few Supreme Court Justices who will be retiring in the next 4 to 8 years. I, and many other conservatives, would much rather see McCain appoint them than Obama."
So we can have the supreme court overturn Roe v. Wade? Sounds like a grand idea for all the women in the country. - LordoftheFly, on 09/26/2008, -6/+28Time for the asskicking.
- kiwiboyus, on 09/26/2008, -3/+25Socialist Socialist ! oooh be scared!
Take your name calling weak sauce back home, along with Grandpa. - DarkPrincess74, on 09/26/2008, -3/+24yes that's true the campaign is a huge lie.
- ncnavguy, on 09/26/2008, -4/+25This guy goes back on his own word in less than a weeks time? He had hope to ride into congress and get his name on a economic bail out package but instead ended up blowing it up. The only thing thats been consistent about McCain is his flawed judgment.
- robdiggity, on 09/26/2008, -4/+25Not all of us!
- alexpalex, on 09/26/2008, -2/+23IT'S NODDA TUMAH!!!!!!!!!!!
- snotrokit, on 09/26/2008, -1/+22*****, he didn't even read the damned bailout bill before tromping off to Washington (after getting his ass handed to him by none other than Katie "Softball" Couric). What makes you think he prepared for tonight? This ought to be good.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 09/26/2008, -0/+21"They could stand to learn a little responsibility in that regard."
Please choke. -
