- ChristPissed, on 08/19/2008, -23/+70What is with christain's bias against reality and their ability to speak truthfully? This is serious evidence of cognitive dissonance, and/or delusional thinking, and/or just plain deviance of the so-called Pastor, as well as Senator McCain.
- EatingPie, on 08/20/2008, -7/+51Indeed, McCain was in his limo until about a half hour before his turn. In terms of "assurances," am I the only one who got the "Cone of Silence" as a joking Get Smart reference?
From CNN's Warren interview, after stating that McCain was in his limo and may have heard Obama's portion.
***
Warren: We asked him, we flat out asked him, "Did you hear any of the discussion?" And I trust the integrity of both John McCain and Barak Obama, that they said they would abide by the rules, they knew the rules way in advance. That I would not give them the questions. I did tell them all of the themes, and went through all of the themes... it's one thing to say "I may ask a question about the courts," it's another question to say "which of the existing supreme court [justices] would you not have appointed."
CNN: And let's be fair. We called Senator McCain's office, and they said "No, we did not listen, we did not know." And part of that is we're just going to have to go on the honor system, and we certainly respect that.
***
So, yes, it is a question of integrity in the end. If you don't believe McCain, he certainly isn't the candidate you should vote for. If you believe him, then you still have two choices this coming november.
-Pie - Sheeplike, on 08/20/2008, -16/+34He cheated on his wife, what makes you think he wouldn't cheat on a stupid forum.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -2/+15Nope, you summed it up perfectly. I'd add that anything other than showing a worship of Obama and disgust and contempt of McCain is not allowed in to factor into this discussion.
Thankfully Digg does not reflect the attitude of the real world. In the real world, people are much more accepting of opposing viewpoints. - dshPls, on 08/20/2008, -4/+17Even if McCain cheated it doesn't help Obama, he looked decent at best. Of course we'll all get dugg down and a comment about McCain being the anti-christ will hit 50 thumbs.
- fromaworld, on 08/20/2008, -7/+18Come on... This discussion is still going on?
I guess it will continue until the Obamaites find something to harp on McCain about.
This is a good sign. It means that Obama is getting desperate. Hooray! - FLUX, on 08/20/2008, -5/+16liberal rule book
If you get your ass handed to you in a debate either claim the debate was biased ie Clinton debate or claim your opponent cheated don't ever admit your guy cant find his ass with both hands and a pitchfork and has no experience what ever, no it can not be that - davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -5/+14I can't wait to see who Obama chooses to foster in "change" for VP. This should be amusing.
I can't wait for Clinton supporters to go ***** on this.
Fun times coming people! - Bkaufman, on 08/20/2008, -14/+23Wah Wah Wah. Keep whining. It doesn't change the fact that McCain trouned the messiah in this debate. The truth is that Obama cannot provide good answers if he doesn't have cue cards or a speech in front of him.
- Number23, on 08/20/2008, -6/+15Wow! A Digg front page without an Obama-Is-The-Greatest-Person-Ever-And-*****-Ice-Cream-Three-Different-Flavors story.
It must be because McCain is ahead 5% AND is ahead or closing in nearly every key state.
http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUKN1 ...
Oh and this poll was taken BEFORE Obama’s Saddleback fiasco. - stizz, on 08/20/2008, -25/+34McCain is a liar.
Plain and simple.
A god damned liar. - Peabdog, on 08/20/2008, -1/+10Because there's no way that McCain is just principled, and experienced, and smart, and just answered the questions. No way. Can't happen.
I mean, we've all seen that Obama is a polished speaker. He's always prepared, and is not at all lost without coaching and a teleprompter.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omHUsRTYFAU&feature ... - sdub74, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9We're not talking about his ability to do his job, we're talking about his honesty. I would say the same thing about Clinton if he were suspected of cheating on something.
- westmich, on 08/20/2008, -3/+12This will be a moot point after their first debate.
Um...er...I think...um...er... (somebody give me a line quick) - merlin484, on 08/20/2008, -4/+12just chill out, this will all be over in november
- dan222555, on 08/20/2008, -16/+24And the whining continues. Call the waahmbulance...
- Bkaufman, on 08/20/2008, -5/+13spot on my friend.
- Number23, on 08/20/2008, -3/+10Tied? McCain is +5!
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -6/+13I would respond to this digg but it is above my pay grade.
- AgainstObama, on 08/20/2008, -6/+12Get over it people. Obama sucks without a teleprompter or scripted speech.
- thespiff, on 08/20/2008, -8/+14OK so this is somewhat dishonest but seriously, if you can't find something more legitimate to ***** on McCain about you need to start paying attention. This is a really dumb point to harp on. So he heard some of the questions in advance. His responses to the questions still sucked.
- davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -2/+8For Obama not to know he would be asked about abortion at an Evangelical church is inexcusable and highlights his inexperience.
If that's the best response Obama could come up with KNOWING he was going to be asked about abortion, Obama has some serious problems going forward.
To act and also sound surprised and unprepared for that question shows the insight of Obama.
Did he actually have prepared "above my paygrade"? - apackofmonkeys, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6In addtion, there's no evidence whatsoever being offered that he DID cheat, the libtards are just screaming that he COULD have if he wanted to.
- vexingmodstwo, on 08/20/2008, -4/+9"Nuanced" is the new "sucked".
Here's a sampling: "That answer's above my pay grade"
"Clarence Thomas"
You can try to spin it as nuance but the answers SUCKED and exposed the One as a rookie. - skintigh, on 08/20/2008, -3/+8I think Christ would be pissed at how the vast majority of his followers have no qualms about bearing false witness about him because they believe the ends justify their means.
Think I'm biased? You should read my inbox: hoax chain letters about the origins of Amazing Grace, hoax chain emails about how Obama is a Secret Muslim (TM), hoax chain letters claiming the Founding Fathers were Christian, chain letters about how America is a Christian nation and other religions and especially atheists have no freedom of religion here, hoax chain letters about how the ACLU is the Antichrist for wanting freedom of religion and how it's illegal to pray at school unless you pray to the devil or witches and how it will be illegal to read the bible soon, and hoax bulletins about a "big party" which is actually a chain letter about getting into heaven sent by my best friend who is a Baptist Sunday School teacher.
PS: if you happen to meet God I wouldn't mentions the Prosperity Gospel to Him, he would probably turn you into a pillar of salt and go on and on about camels and eyes of needles. - kalvinb, on 08/20/2008, -16/+21It's been revealed that both candidates were given some advance notice of some of the topics and questions that would be asked.
Continuing to whine about this is doing nothing positive for Obama. - davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -28/+33Shut the hell up already Obamaians. It's like the loser of a fight on a playground. "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Not fair!"
How annoying can you people be?
No wonder why McCain is neck in neck with Obama in the polls. Obama's supporters are a bunch of annoying whiners! - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -10/+15If Pastor Warren really wanted everyone to know what McCain's relationship with Jesus is like then he should have asked him, "What possessed you to publicly call your wife a c*nt?".
Someone should also tell John McCain that pandering to the religious right and dropping f-bombs don't really go together. > http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/159137.php - TimDigg, on 08/20/2008, -3/+8Simple Question
Why does Rick Warren matter?
Does Obama's barber matter?
Or how about the guy who delivers his mail?
What is the point of all this?
We have an energy crisis, heathcare needs to be fixed, and we are at war...
Please stick to these three issues... - WasabiBomb, on 08/20/2008, -6/+11What I find amusing is that you think that THIS is the only evidence we've presented as to why McCain's a horrible choice for President. Haven't you been paying attention these last few months?
McCain left his wife for a younger, richer model. McCain lied about the "cross in the dust". McCain was against torture, but is now for it, just to get votes. McCain can't remember the difference between Sunnis and Shiites- even after being reminded.
Hell, just look at 72 of his flipflops:
http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/flipflops?t=3
It's not our fault you can't pay attention. This is just the latest example. - stevetrojanman, on 08/20/2008, -3/+7Unless McCain gets elected...then we will have 4 more years of this crap...
And when I reference "this crap" I'm talking whiny, knee-jerk liberals bitching about how miserable McCain is and that he kills babies and kicks homeless people...
And then they'll try to tell us that we're the ones with the problems.. - bentman78, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4The NYTimes political blog yesterday said they both knew some questions beforehand.
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/08/18/who- ...
Obama just got owned because he's an empty suit... - auntazalea, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4It was all about Rick Warren selling more books.
- nalen33, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5It has the words "McCain" and "credibility" somewhere in the article, so the spiffy algorithm catches those things and these suckers skyrocket so that the masses can Digg them up and provide a shield from any conversation based on their actual answers.
- davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -20/+23What I find amusing is that THIS is the best attack Obama supporters can muster against McCain?
Then McCain wins by a landslide in November. - bumb1ebee, on 08/20/2008, -2/+6The "no religious test" thing only applies to the government. The people can have religious tests if they want.
- PennFarmer, on 08/20/2008, -1/+5A better question for crooks and liars would be why are we asking the Secret Service anything?
Their job has to do with security plain and simple. They do try to keep the candidate on his schedule, but that is for security reasons. If McCain is late, it is on him. The Secret Service is not interested in what he listens to, watches, says, or thinks unless it has to do with his safety or their ability to protect him. These men and women are professionals. We need to leave them out of this. - davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Uh oh. Obamaians.
Whining about a cone of silence will not help you now. - BXRWXR, on 08/20/2008, -11/+14Yes. A lot.
- plainOldFool, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Go screw. I have a goatee to hide my craptastic fat neck.
- neveroddoreven, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Anyone tired of this story?
- flink405, on 08/20/2008, -6/+9Obamaniacs - it is not too late to make Hillary Clinton the Democratic nominee!
- TheInformer, on 08/20/2008, -4/+7It comes down to this: If Obama had won the debate vs. McCain, this article and its many clones from Huffingtonpost, Dailykos, etc would never have been written even if every other condition was identical.
The fact of the matter is Obama was pwned, made to look like a rookie, and his myrmidons cannot handle it.
To the myrmidons, please ponder this: if there is a major international crisis, say between the US and Russia, do you think there will be time enough for Obama's playwrights to write a script for him to follow and his coaches to coach him on how t say it? - Spuy767, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3This post is on the edge of a great precipice.
- Pedestrian101, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4As I recall, McCain was sharp then entire time, not just in the first 30 minutes, but the last 30 minutes, which, if he was cheating, he would have been terrible for the last 30 minute of questions which he wouldn't have heard.
- WasabiBomb, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4Oh, look! There's the typical Republican response- can't debate the issues, just insult your opponent. Grow the hell up, vexing.
This is politics, not third grade. - davidg11, on 08/20/2008, -2/+5Oh my god, that's hilarious. If it's not a prepared speech, Obama can not comment on it.
- WasabiBomb, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Which debate did YOU watch? Obama gave better answers- WITHOUT having to cheat.
- djtyrant, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3How many days in a row are we going to get a Digg story to a Liberal Blog about this? It's old hat already, move on.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -7/+10Yeah, because liberals never lose elections and debates, they are always stolen from them. Grow up. TEACHER, TEACHER, JOHNNY CAME PREPARED FOR THE TEST! THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!!
Obama couldn't think because he still had brain freeze from the shave ice he had in Hawaii. -
