- AARTARTHUR, on 10/11/2007, -5/+45In more bad news for McCain, a co-chair of his Florida campaign — state Rep. Bob Allen — was arrested Wednesday after offering to perform oral sex for $20 on an undercover male police officer, authorities said. Allen, 48, was seen coming in and out of a restroom three times at a park in Titusville, Fla., said police Lt. Todd Hutchinson. He then approached an undercover officer and was arrested. Allen has been charged with solicitation for prostitution, which has a maximum penalty of one year in jail. Brevard County jail officials said Allen posted a $500 bond. The real Story ! Damn its hard to find good help these days. Another rotten ass politician uncovered. Folks we are in trouble.

lol - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+20The neocons aren't worried about losing the election because they have people on both sides... if worst comes to worst they'll still have Hillary.
- DryMaltExtract, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Ah, American democracy. Two party system, real democratic.
A) Do you want to stick your dick in a blender?
B) Do you want us to stick your dick in a blender? - ConservoHippie, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16You know, if this Ron Paul revolution really takes off, Gil-Scott Heron will have been right. The revolution will not be televised.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13lol amazing, people are burying you down.. do they think your joking?
hes not joking, its true. you cant make ***** up this bad ;) - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14He is running as a republican. He has served 10 terms in the US congress as a republican. He ran as a libertarian for president in 1988. At his heart he is a constitutionalist, which aligns with libertarian views more than any other party.
- kazamx, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14I just believe that there are many many Americans who don't feel their views are represented by main stream media. The feel really strongly about issues and want to have their views heard. Places like Digg give them that outlet. The more the main stream ignore a large number of people, the harder they will push to be heard
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10i think he means new world order establishment, not just the neocons, they are running MOST of the candidates on BOTH sides of the party line
hilary is a war monger, and bush isnt a conservative
none of the phony conservatives are conservatives, at all..
calling it the fascism police state war party just didnt have the same ring to it - Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -8/+16Can we go a single day without seeing Obama or Clinton on Digg?
Didn't think so. It's Elections season, you're in the U.S. Elections 2008 category, get with the program! - arbiter13, on 10/11/2007, -7/+14Considering the frequency of "Bush screwing something up" and stories about OTHER candidates, I'd say no.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8why would i want to go one day without hearing about hope for america?

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+13what are you talking about? its not an oxymoron at all
republican's are supposed to be about conserving our constitutional republic, the founding fathers were libertarians
neo cons are the oxes and morons - maz2331, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Actually, just having him in the party is a wonderful thing, even if he never wins. The Republican party is imploding rapidly under the influence of the "neo-con" philosophy, which is really closer to a form of fascism than anything else. They want to impose "law and order" on everyone, while protecting large corporate interests. It's really akin to the old historical idea of "mercantalism". The neo-con philosophy has really gutted the party's ranks by eliminating any dissenting voices from any influence. The Democratic party is also in somewhat the same boat. The most prominent voices are really more-or-less communists at heart, and anyone who doesn't follow the party line is ostracized. They push "forced tolerance" of everything that is outside of societal norms. Both parties are really just two sides of the same coin right now. Both tend to fall into the trap of attempting to make society reflect the law, rather than the law reflecting the society. This is where a libertarian is needed from time to time. The message resonates a lot among average people on both "sides" of the debate by tapping into a simmering resentment of all the control imposed by both parties over people's lives. Now, that said, Ron Paul is a bit of an extreme version of the libertarian/constitutionalist message. For example, I like his idea of a much more "humble" foriegn policy to reduce the hatred that motivates attacks, but since we are already engaged in hostilities, we need to make an all-out effort to defeat the radical Islamists. That particular fight, regardless of its genesis, is now past the point where any negotiation or moves on our part will change the enemies' intentions. A lot of people agree in principle with many of Dr. Paul's points and positions, but are quite rightly scared of the danger of implementing them too quickly and radically. You can see the influence of the Paul campaign among some of the other Republican candidates. I'd say that Mike Huckabee is the closest to Paul overall, but not as "extreme", and therefore not well known. It takes either an "extreme" message or extreme fame to be noticed in US politics nowadays. My hope is that Paul will bring a little bit of overall sanity back to the Republican party.

What's the deal with Republicans and gay sex? - maz2331, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"Birds of a feather flocking together?"
I love when hypocrites get nailed to the wall. - AbsurdParadox, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I think Mr. McCain would get more support if he wore some more of those gay sweaters.
- AbsurdParadox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Do you disagree with Ron Paul, bffoley, or are you just a defeatist?
- InetRoadkill, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Ron Paul was originally a member of the LP, so it's no surprise he shares some of their positions.
- AbsurdParadox, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Yep, blame Ron Paul for something a supporter did. Good game.
- byronm, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6A die hard liberal has more in common with a true libertarian. It was Ronald Reagan that re-wrote the definition of liberal, hardly a non biased representation of people who respect ones views and approach at life vs those who havea an orthodox opinion of how you should live it.
- Loonacy, on 10/11/2007, -7/+11I agree aliengoods, but consider this: This isn't a story about Ron Paul. The article doesn't mention Ron Paul at all. Not once. Not even a hint. And yet people are still digging this.
I wasn't as peeved about all the RP stories as most other people, but this is taking it too far. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? - worldinmyeyes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I found this part in the article (buried) more interesting:
"In more bad news for McCain, a co-chair of his Florida campaign — state Rep. Bob Allen — was arrested Wednesday after offering to perform oral sex for $20 on an undercover male police officer, authorities said. Allen, 48, was seen coming in and out of a restroom three times at a park in Titusville, Fla., said police Lt. Todd Hutchinson. He then approached an undercover officer and was arrested."
Why is this not big news? A congressmen arrested for prostitution???? Are we that dumbed down and numb to government corruption that this isn't even huge news?
I found one digg story on it:
http://digg.com/politics/McCain_s_Florida_Co_Chair_Arrested_for_Prostitution - BabaRamDass, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I would agree with you that the concept going back to conservative roots is a Republican ideology, but classic conservatism has much more in common with libertarianism than does neo-liberalism. Neo-liberalism and neo-conservatism have about the same in common with libertarianism, which is to say not much. Ron Paul's idea of State's Rights is, I think, very libertarian; no, it's not as good as all government being local, but it's the most realistic during this day in age.
- krnldmp, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7Amazingly the answer to your question is in the digg poster's headline. If all you want is articles maybe you don't need digg.
- maz2331, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3McCain comes across as just being an empty suit.
- conceptkid, on 10/11/2007, -9/+12Nope, Sorry, the Ron Paul Revolution will continue and defeat the corruption with your help or not. Why dont you complain about hearing a ***** terrorist attack every day?? Ron Paul could actually teach you something, listen to what he has to say. He is like 100 times smarter than anyone I've ever seen in this life.
- mlmvh, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6This article DOES relate to Ron Paul, because it points out yet again the bias of the mainstream media. It mentions that McCain has less cash on hand than Giuliani & Romney, but it does NOT mention that McCain has less cash on hand than Ron Paul does. And, it's news to us Ron Paul supporters that Ed "Failure", who kept Ron Paul out of the Iowa forum, is no longer with the McCain campaign. I'm sorry that some of you diggers are annoyed, but how else are we Ron Paul supporters supposed to find and exchange information with the mainstream media blackout going on? If you don't want to read about Ron Paul, you can simply skip the story and not take the time to comment on it! By the way, I'm new to Digg, and I love it! I digg and submit a lot of stories that aren't just Ron Paul related stories. You diggers should be happy to attract a lot of new people! :)
- bartscott57, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4We don't need to kick out Ron Paul. He's actually good.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4You can't spell Failor without FAIL
- 0xbadfood, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Your logic is defective. "Nobody knows who he is so he won't win so we shouldn't talk about him." Defeatism is bad, mmkay? Or are you just poo-pooing because you don't want him to win? Also, try doing a search on "Ron Paul", "Hillary Clinton" and "Barack Obama" (don't forget the quotes) and you'll find far more stories about each of the democrats.
- plasticquart, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4um, what? You are asserting the RP is a racist... mind throwing out some proof w/ that accusation?
- krnldmp, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Type "Iowans for tax relief Ron Paul" into Google and become a normal Ron Paul supporter that knows just a little about what his campaign is having to deal with. Failor is Executive Vice President of Iowans for Tax Relief.
- EnglishVoodoo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm visiting my dad here in FLA and I saw this in the paper - On top of that the new governor here, Crist I believe is, according to my dad, closet gay, and they had no choice for a decent candidate for gov because both were authoritarian. Now Arnold Schwarzeneggar is coming to town to promote Climate-Change-Control, warning everybody that it may be expensive, but by-god we must do it! And right next to this I see a contributing column by Michelle Maulkin warning that journalists are not covering the "peacenick shooting" of an airforce man here, but Maulkin IS a journalist so she is covering it, warning of the evil and dangerous left-wing nuts.
I agree with another comment above me that this left-right ***** has got to stop. We should be concerned with Authoritarian/Non-Authoritarian.
And if people are upset about the revolution in progress then there is nothing I can tell them, except that the media has gotten so downright propaganda that people need to hear of liberty, and speak of liberty, at least once a day. People are getting sick to death of the downward slope of this country, the crushing of dissenting opinions and the willful ignorance that is seen as some kind of "Patriotism". - Pray4America, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2To even mention these "two Texans" is the same vein does a TREMENDOUS disservice to Congressman Ron Paul, MD, a man who has consistently upheld the following high ideals: integrity, honesty, The US Consitution, liberty, fiscal conservatism, the founding principles of this great country...Need I continue? (check his record - find out!)
- drxavier, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ed Faillor was responsible for excluding Ron Paul from a candidates forum in Iowa. Ron Paul went on to have his own event next door, which drew twice as many people.
- 0xbadfood, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3In addition to that, the political system is set up in such a way that you have to choose a single representative of your views. If there were five libertarian-leaning Republicans running in the primary, they would each have one fifth the chance of winning as a single one running alone against the neocons. People are behind Ron Paul because of his ideas, but they also stay behind him because he has more momentum than anyone who shares those ideas and is the best chance in a long time of that segment of the population being represented in the highest office in the land.
- BabaRamDass, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think a lot of people aren't surprised when they hear a politician has been arrested for prostitution. I'm certainly not surprised our government is *gasp* getting it up the rear-end for money. (Figuratively and literally.)
- TomWestbrook, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Vote for Ron Paul:
http://news.aol.com/elections/story/_a/08-candidates-spend-spend-spend/20070716094709990002
He's now at 12% ahead of McCain at 11% - Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Because it was Texas's fault?
- AbsurdParadox, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3What don't you agree with? Ron Paul is a one topic candidate: Freedom. There's a reason for the dog pile... theres no other candidate people feel so passionately about. Putting freedom first leads to fixing everything else thats wrong.
- Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You my friend are very confused.
The government should be strictly limited to the Constitution, that's all there is to it.
The rest of the people can do whatever they want (as long as they don't harm others) - BabaRamDass, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2***** Reagan. We're talking about Ron Paul here, and he's the only libertarian running for either major party. I've lost all faith in the Libertarian Party, and many libertarians have as well. I'd say somewhere around 5% of his positions are more in alignment with the Republican Party than libertarianism, but I'm not too worried about that 5%.
- TruthWillWin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah, the iproductive Dr.Paul supporters annoy me to.
Let's focus on that and ignore the most important thing::
the substance/message/constitution/freedom/history/federal reserve fraud/pure fascism according to every definition, and a million more points, like Precott Bush was Hitler's partner, or the online docu: JFK II ( is Bush Sr. deathpenalty) and tons of more "hidden" history.
You have absolutely no idea howmany grusome things you don't know about the super-rich elites who control everything and are in power also.
To read or reseach once in a while wouldn't hurt you, you're obviously not aware either that a few neo-cons control almost the entire media.
You really don't know anything, you can tell by every letter you type.
www.patriotsquestion911.com could be a good start to wake up to how the world works. - catalysis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Even more impressive would be one day without people going out of their way to bitch about Ron Paul. Clearly you have an axe to grind because I don't see you complaining about any other repeat topics. This isn't even a story about Ron Paul. All they did was mention him because the subject created a controversy a few weeks back, and even that was enough to set you off. Digg is a democracy. If you don't like it, don't click on it.
