- itstruetheydo, on 05/08/2008, -50/+295I love how a black pastor speaking out against injustice causes a national controversy, while a white pastor promoting injustice gets completely ignored.
- dustint12, on 05/08/2008, -39/+183Let's see if Fox Noize is truly Fair and Balanced by covering this story.
- Mutton, on 05/08/2008, -15/+133Hmm... I thought America was founded so that all people could have the freedom to worship as they please, not so that one religion would be able to destroy another. Silly me.
- dinot, on 05/08/2008, -8/+84Considering that most of their viewers think the same way, they probably would use it as a reason to back McCain.
- WhoFan, on 05/08/2008, -20/+88Who is more of a worry? A preacher who is crazy and feels like the man is holding him down AND who has been denounced by Obama or.... a preacher who has the friendship and the ear of McCain AND who wants a holy war on other religions and our freedoms?
- swrostmore, on 05/08/2008, -11/+68Which is exactly why McCain went after this sicko's endorsement: he thinks genocide and oppression against the people of an entire religion will play well with his conservative base.
- ozymandias2012, on 05/08/2008, -3/+58I don't even want a president anymore.
- johnfiveonesix, on 05/08/2008, -16/+66Another fearful white preacher in a thousand dollar suit. These clowns need to be brought up on charges of inciting violence and riots...whatever happened to "love one another as I loved you"...
- swrostmore, on 05/08/2008, -3/+50"We get OFF on warfare"...isn't that an odd statement coming from a Christian pastor?
- glenneroo, on 05/08/2008, -31/+76sick.
- TechMaverick, on 05/08/2008, -26/+64I think it's about time that the McCain free-ride express comes to a screeching stop! If the media still wants to be considered a "respectable" and reliable source of information for it's viewers/readers/listeners, then they should start stepping up to the plate and calling McCain on this stuff, instead of treating like a grumpy grandpa who just said something embarrassing at the dinner table and needs to be covered for.
- theYevvin, on 05/08/2008, -9/+49from the vid: "our country was founded, in part, to see this false religion destroyed"
I think the Wright situation will allow for the first time for the bright light to be cast on these evangelical nutjobs and their roll in American government. Remember, 150 graduates of Pat Robertson's Regent University were hired by the bush administration. The threat to our democracy from these kinds of fringe groups in our government should be clear to anyone after the past 8 years. These are people we should be worried about, they are not harmless, their ideas have traction in our puritanical society. - ssutherland, on 05/08/2008, -10/+43If McCain had claimed him as _his_ primary spiritual guide or sat in his church for 20 years, then you can bet this would cause controversy. Both sides have plenty of extreme followers, but that doesn't define the candidates themselves.
- dognose, on 05/08/2008, -19/+46It's not "McCain's Spiritual Guide" McCain said that he was "A spiritual guide" .. This is not his personal pastor for the last 20 years. Stop trying to tie the two together.
- vanzan, on 05/08/2008, -16/+43I am a Muslim and I find this externally disturbing, disgusting and I will not be surprised if the anti-American sentiments increase even more if McCain wins the elections.
- highkarate, on 05/08/2008, -12/+37He never called him "my spiritual guide".
- rficwizard, on 05/08/2008, -4/+30Reasonable people are for freedom of religion and against violence. Why is that hard to understand?
- dinot, on 05/08/2008, -13/+36Why does this surprise anyone? This ***** isn't gonna bring McCain down. It might actually strengthen his support considering most those brain-dead rightwingers think Obama is a "Manchurian Candidate" muslim. OMG B. HUSSEIN!
The only people this will offend are sane people who wouldn't have voted for him in the first place. - poopdigger, on 05/08/2008, -0/+22Only 5 to 1??? Your lack of faith disturbs me...
- vinnyvenus, on 05/08/2008, -6/+28I predict from now till november digg will be anti Maccain / Pro Obama . Anybody wants to take me up on this bet? Heck I will give you 5 to 1 odds.
- stuffdone, on 05/08/2008, -13/+33Every religion has an equal right to exist. Until you die who knows? In the US we specifically guarantee the right to religious freedom. McCain has taken an oath of office to uphold the constitution. If a radical Christian preaches that we must destroy another "protected religion" then McCain should denounce him not only as a poor example of a Christian but a bad example as a preacher and a person.
I have little regard for ANY preacher who injects himself into Politics...that is like a preacher making a pact with the devil anyway and they are not to be trusted. Those types of preachers are not Christians, they are self promoters seeking special favors from politicians.
On the upside these guys are providing the Democrats with great amunition for the fall elections...so perhaps we should let them keep opening thier mouths and digging that hole for McCain to fall into ! - usrlocalbin, on 05/08/2008, -2/+20Caps lock key is right below your tab key, and right above your right shift key.
- inactive, on 05/08/2008, -6/+23Mega-church preachers are wackos? Wow, who knew.....
- str3ama, on 05/08/2008, -3/+19I believe that most religions are peaceful, it's only a few fundamentalist zealots that push violence and intolerance. Unfortunately there are people who like to generalize those zealots to apply to the rest of that religion.
- swrostmore, on 05/08/2008, -0/+16No, he's talking about America being created in order to destroy Islam: "we were built for the battle [against Islam], we get off on warfare etc."
- alpha19, on 05/08/2008, -3/+19*Checks CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Reuters*
Seems as though Fox News is the ONLY MSM covering the story, actually. http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/03/15/mccain- ...
Defending it or not, I could not find anything about the Islam comment by Parsley on any of the other MSM sites.
__Correct me if I am wrong, please.__
So what I have to say in response is, CNN, NBC, ABC, and Reuters SUCK MY ASS for not having ANYTHING on the story. Atleast Fox has something, even if they do suck. - swrostmore, on 05/08/2008, -0/+16Don't Koreans have a repressive police state that uses torture? Doesn't Suzywang3000 enthusiastically support repression, propaganda, warrantless surveillance, and torture in the USA? Seems to me they have quite a bit in common.
- LameAssTheMity, on 05/08/2008, -2/+18Wait, when did we start treating the mass media as a form of news instead of a joke?
The mass media has changed our political system from a race between two people promoting different ideologies into a popularity contest.
Who makes a better speech? Oh my god, she cried!
When was the last time you say a news report on the actual differences between our two democratic presidential nominees? - manitoba98xp, on 05/08/2008, -2/+18"Islam" did not perform the terrorist attacks – a group of radicals (yes, who happened to be Muslim) did. Is Christianity responsible for all violent acts committed by Christians (there are a LOT)?
I have nothing against Islam, in fact I support freedom of religion, but I still detest terrorism. That's not hypocritical. - inactive, on 05/08/2008, -16/+31How can a man who reads the Bible and professes faith in Jesus Christ call for war and killing so easily and frequently?
The fact is that this man is not a Christian, he is a hateful and proud man who does not understand that Christians must be humble servants of the Lord and all of our fellow men. Hagee has used his hate filled diatribes to make himself rich and ingratiate himself with the Zionists.
The fact that John McCain actively sought out this man and his support is about 1000 times worse than the Reverend Wright scandal.
This man is eveil and dangerous, so I suppose McCain must be as well - GreyGerard, on 05/08/2008, -4/+17Oh CrudeDarkness, you're so silly... there aren't any such things as Muslim Americans. The only true Americans are Christians, just like our founding fathers. (that would be written is "sarcasm" font, if such a thing existed)
- archiesteel, on 05/08/2008, -4/+17Wow, lots of LGFers today! I thought I smelled ***** when I walked in...
- Waiting2awake, on 05/08/2008, -2/+14That was Jesus - people should be aware by now that Christianity actually follows the rules of Saul. A Roman.
- saltinekracka20, on 05/08/2008, -0/+12You're just stating the obvious. No need to take bets.
- jdenzer, on 05/08/2008, -9/+21Obama didn't seek Farrakhan endorsement, but yet we expected Obama to denounce Farrakhan and he did.
So where is the denouncement of Rev. Parsley from McCain? No instead he accepted rev. Parsley endorsement.
Please think before trying to make a valid point? - archiesteel, on 05/08/2008, -1/+13Where did he lie? He did not say Hagee was McCain's pastor, he said he "actively sought out this man and his support", which is true.
Go back to LGF, Troll. - pintomp3, on 05/08/2008, -4/+16and scary. john hagee and rod parsley are part of the leadership of CUFI, a group trying to bring on the end of the world in order to start the rapture.
http://www.cufi.org/site/PageServer
bill moyers did a great piece on them:
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/10052007/profile ... - mowe, on 05/08/2008, -4/+16Whoa, since when is Prophet Muhammad the lone prophet of Islam? There's like 25, including Jesus and Moses.
- inactive, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11Koreans are still a helluva lot smarter than Suzywang
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11CAPS DOUCHE BAG!!
I didn't even read your comment, you've had to been told before?.... no? - Dumbledorito, on 05/08/2008, -3/+14I'm more concerned that we're selecting our leaders, it seems, on the basis of unverifiable beliefs in invisible beings, as well as the wildly variable ideas about what these "gods" want to be done.
- Grova, on 05/08/2008, -6/+17Hello MSM are you there?
- jpaolini, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11Sorry, but I honestly didn't read your comment due to the caps (and lack of anything even remotely resembling any sort of grammar/spelling skills).
- source1984, on 05/08/2008, -2/+13I'm a Muslim and I've heard a lot of this type of talk by many Christian preachers. There is a minority of "academics" or wannabe academics who talk like this too -- about how Islam has to be changed, that it is specifically incompatible with the West and that violent confrontation is necessary. All these people have one thing in common -- they're ignorant and misinformed.
- dan222555, on 05/08/2008, -2/+13That's like predicting that you'll wake up tomorrow and the sky will be blue.
- sarixe, on 05/08/2008, -3/+14hey, screw both of you! i'm tired of this dualism.
- malex, on 05/08/2008, -1/+11Either that, or he could help America reject theocratic, Dominionist dogma. I'm going to go with the latter.
- kemp34, on 05/08/2008, -3/+13You should have wrote "Christianity" these morons are false preachers.
- tattertech, on 05/08/2008, -2/+12Only if we can destroy the rest of the religions too.
