- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -10/+41Seriously, who the ***** cares. Gambling is legal. Does he have some policy that condemns gambling or something?
- jstohler, on 08/19/2008, -9/+40When they said he had a problem with craps, I just assumed it meant he wore Depends.
- benroy, on 08/19/2008, -16/+45Except he thinks that gambling with money is for pussies. Real men gamble with American lives.
- vault, on 08/19/2008, -11/+37So because he once said, "craps is addictive," that's indicative of a gambling problem? The man is worth $40 something million, if he wants to play craps here and there, even if he spends a few thousand each time, it's not really a problem with that much money.
If Obama had once said, "blackjack is addictive" and was seen playing it at a casino, it would not affect my opinion of him in the slightest. In fact, his youth cocaine use doesn't even bother me.
You people are just ridiculous. Huffpo = buried as spam - benroy, on 08/19/2008, -0/+20Holy exclamation mark Batman!
- billmill, on 08/19/2008, -14/+30Big deal, he plays craps. I'm no McCain fan.. but you guys are really reaching now.
If anything, I like him more after reading this. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -5/+16God I hate election years. It's like everyone turns into a complete dumbass.
You don't have a gambling problem when you're stinking rich and not risking anything serious. You have a gambling problem you take huge risks on unsafe bets. You have a gambling problem when it controls your life.
He's a gambler, yes. A problem gambler, no.
"Pathological gambling is now defined as persistent and recurrent maladaptive gambling behavior meeting at least five of the following criteria, as long as these behaviors are not better explained by a manic episode:
1. Preoccupation. The subject has frequent thoughts about gambling experiences, whether past, future, or fantasy.
2. Tolerance. As with drug tolerance, the subject requires larger or more frequent wagers to experience the same "rush".
3. Withdrawal. Restlessness or irritability associated with attempts to cease or reduce gambling.
4. Escape. The subject gambles to improve mood or escape problems.
5. Chasing. The subject tries to win back gambling losses with more gambling.
6. Lying. The subject tries to hide the extent of his or her gambling by lying to family, friends, or therapists.
7. Loss of control. The person has unsuccessfully attempted to reduce gambling.
8. Illegal acts. The person has broken the law in order to obtain gambling money or recover gambling losses. This may include acts of theft, embezzlement, fraud, forgery, or bad checks.
9. Risked significant relationship. The person gambles despite risking or losing a relationship, job, or other significant opportunity.
10. Bailout. The person turns to family, friends, or another third party for financial assistance as a result of gambling."

And please explain how the fact that his wife's father didn't include the other child he had with a different wife in his will:
A) is Cindy McCain's fault
B) is McCain's fault
C) is affecting his capacity as president.
You have tons of real arguments against McCain. And Huffingpoo is way too ***** dumb to address any of these actual issues.
The man wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade ffs. He's even dumber than Bush and the only thing Huffingpoo can come up with is that he gambles a tiny little part of his money. - greendalek, on 08/19/2008, -4/+14If he's gambling with his own money, then what's the big damned deal? Now if he were blowing taxpayers' money in a Vegas casino, that would be something else entirely, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Non-story. Leave it alone.
- inactive, on 08/19/2008, -4/+13McCain is going to double down on Iran. Then he is going all-in on Russia.
- Narcism, on 08/19/2008, -6/+14He gambles in his personal life?! Oh my god. He will gamble public money in the whitehouse!?
What's that? He also ***** with the door open?! OMG He will ***** on the economy. - MrFurious2k, on 08/19/2008, -7/+15Huffspam: McCain Hates Children and Eats People

Huffspam: Obama Defends Against McCain's Undead Armies - USArugula, on 08/19/2008, -4/+11Alcoholism is legal too.
- Carv, on 08/19/2008, -5/+12"McCain urged everyone to read the latest national report on gambling. However, McCain also warned of the consequences associated with gambling. And state-run lotteries aren’t any better, he said. “Who buys lottery tickets?” he asked. “When I’m in a Circle K, I know who buys lottery tickets. The lowest income.”
-Associated Press, 1999. - allengeer, on 08/19/2008, -1/+8Yea, when you go playing craps you play for a while. I mean that's why craps is so much fun. You get a happenin game its a blast. And if you got 20 million in the bank you can play for as long as you want. I agree with Bill, McCain gambling is no big deal. Talk about real things that degrade his character... like calling his wife a trollup and a *****.
- thedogfatherx, on 08/19/2008, -4/+10And the ***** point of this story is??? Nothing!
***** off huffingtonpost. You suck donkey balls. - peticsu, on 08/19/2008, -2/+8"philatelist"?
Thats elitist talk...what are you french? - btschul, on 08/19/2008, -4/+10Is there really any way someone can say Huffington Post is a reliable news source without laughing?
- smurfsahoy, on 08/19/2008, -6/+12Cheating on your wife is legal federally (and in almost half of the 50 states), and so is being an anarchist or a communist. Saying God is dead is legal. Flag burning is legal.
So therefore, according to you, nobody should care if one of our presidential candidates is an alcoholic, adulterous atheist who hangs out on the beach all day and burns flags for fun.
Gambling = fiscally irresponsible = ***** president. - BohicaTwentyTwo, on 08/19/2008, -14/+19Who needs Swift Boat when you have HuffPoo.
- hokie47, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5Guys this would be a great way to get rid of our national debt. Do you think we can really cut spending? I say let McCain place a 9 trillion bet on either red or black, and if he hits it then we are cool, but if he misses it then he will just speed up our government's economic collapse.
- vault, on 08/19/2008, -5/+10funny how you left this part out:
"McCain is a longtime defender of American Indian tribal casinos and supported legislation in 1995 that paved the way for gambling ''cruises to nowhere.''

- offthewagon, on 08/19/2008, -0/+5McCain was behind Watergate
McCain sacrifices squirrels before taking part in robust satanic orgies.
McCain huffs paint - listrophy, on 08/19/2008, -0/+4Gambling with an amount of money which, if lost, doesn't affect your lifestyle or behavior is a perfectly acceptable adult hobby. So what if he's doing it now? He was having fun. Candidates are allowed to have fun every once in awhile (see: recent Obama vacation).
- neveroddoreven, on 08/19/2008, -15/+19***** Huffpost god damnit I hate you.
- xman8, on 08/19/2008, -1/+5McCain a human being?
Someone that enjoys the finer aspects of being an American?
Someone that has a humor?
Someone I would like to have a drink or two with?
Great!!! - apackofmonkeys, on 08/19/2008, -2/+6I just said 10 minutes ago that "Geometry Wars 2" is addictive. I guess HuffingtonPOS thinks I suck.
- hatepaste, on 08/19/2008, -2/+6He says state lotteries target low income people, which is true.
NEWSFLASH!
McCain isn't low income. If he wants to gamble he can. What irks me most is that he is "close to being a compulsive gambler, certified as such by at least some of our mainstream media".
Close only counts in horseshoes. And, since when is our mainstream media experts on diagnosing compulsive gambling? - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -4/+8Big deal. I find this pic of Obama more shocking.

- jgzman, on 08/19/2008, -2/+5I would not vote for a man who ***** with the door open.

- PhantomRogue, on 08/19/2008, -2/+5Id be willing to bet that he is physically restrained from entering because his conservative constituency may get offended if he enters a casino.
There are more important things to worry about than him wanting to Gamble. I Gamble, guess there goes my bid for presidency... - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -0/+3Obama said he used drugs over the weekend.
If you dont understand what Cocaine does to a mind you best ask Rick James. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -1/+3Huffington = (un)educated, cant think for themselves douches.
- inigomntoya, on 08/19/2008, -1/+3Hey look here buddy. HuffPo and Cracked is all the news that some of us get, OK? So just take your comment and shove it up - HEY LOOK! Another top ten list! Woo Hoo!
- vault, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Not that I think the age-related McCain smears are ok, but old people do sit in casinos for long periods of time. If you've ever been to one, you've seen old fat people sitting at the slot machines or playing video poker for hours on end.
Of course, the standard issue old gamblers are usually just playing penny slots, whereas McCain is wealthy enough to gamble thousands. It doesn't mean there's a gambling problem in either case. That is a common form of recreation when you're old, and even if he was young, it still wouldn't really prove anything because he can afford it. And I'd like to see a source that it really is 14 hours on end, and that that isn't just an exaggeration.
Gambling only really becomes a problem when people start gambling their rent money, their ride home, etc. That's not the case here. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -3/+5**** NEWS FLASH ****
MCCAIN IS HUMAN!!!!
OBAMA IS IMMORTAL!!!
HUFFINGTON HAS GREAT EDITING!!!
*yawn*
When then can dig up something like Edwards and his "baby" about McCain, you can respectively shut the hell up. - JayceMJ, on 08/19/2008, -1/+3*****, I knew I shouldn't have bet him he couldn't get a nuke launched on Quebec.
- slartibartphast, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2I don't give a crap.
- allengeer, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2god, what kind of ***** storm would that set off. I mean, first everyone would just be ***** confused.. .Quebec? why? what the ***** is in Quebec? Then all these Quebec experts would start crawling out of the woodwork, and large swaths of people would all of a sudden be PRO QUEBEC without even being able to point it out on a map or tell what country Quebec is part of. It would be a ***** storm indeed.
- ozydingo, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2@skintigh
No, I don't believe there was any equating of those things; simply a compilation of them and declaring that they are all leagl, while implying that they are all things that the American people would dislike in a presidential candidate. Try reading it again. - inactive, on 08/19/2008, -2/+4Haha exactly. Those who read it and take it for more then comedy need to be wearing straight jackets.
- theutopian, on 08/19/2008, -1/+3No, it means he collects stamps.
