- zenithmbr, on 07/14/2008, -3/+17I don't know why you think homosexuals are any different than heterosexuals in any of the aspects you've mentioned. you are obscenely ignorant.
- GregFD3S, on 07/14/2008, -3/+15"Even if the alternative is the kid staying in an orphanage, or not having parents."
You have to be really ***** up to answer "Yes" to that question. - qdkk, on 07/14/2008, -3/+13By McCain's tortured logic (McSame as Bush), orphaned children will needlessly suffer under institutional care rather than finding a permanent home with loving adoptive parents. Now, that compassion for you.
- onlyaftersunset, on 07/14/2008, -3/+13There are plenty of heterosexual couples who ***** up kids a lot worse.
- Ricky81682, on 07/15/2008, -1/+11Reality has a liberal bias, I see.
- Ricky81682, on 07/15/2008, -0/+10You know what he meant. Fine, he should have said "Gay parents have been shown to be just as loving as any set of heterosexual parents."
- TheCatsPants, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8You're planning on taking your heterosexual children to orgies and teach them to have anonymous sex in public places? Wow. You are *really* open-minded.
Seriously, why would *any* parent do that? - Cate320, on 07/15/2008, -2/+9I don't understand this logic at all.
Gay couples can't have their own biological children. Which means that in order for them to have a child, they have to explore other avenues - like surrogacy, in vitro fertilization or adoption. All of these are time consuming and expensive. Which means if they pursue them, they really *want* to have a child.
If someone wants a child that badly, it kind of follows that they will be good, caring and devoted parents. You cannot determine someone's parental skills based solely on their sexual orientation. It is ridiculous. - TheCatsPants, on 07/15/2008, -1/+7Yeah, same with thinking that being gay is a "life-style choice". Who would choose a life where they are despised and demonised by a proportion of the population?
- wacomwacoff, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5All you know about gay people are stereotypes.
You're a sad, sick person. - wacomwacoff, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6Because gay rights is a valid and current issue.
Gay people are currently in an active fight for the right to marry in several states, and the opposition to adoption by gay people is another ongoing struggle.
Both candidates have been asked about their position on gay marriage, but the right to adopt is as important an issue for gay people as the right to marry and to serve in the military. - Cate320, on 07/16/2008, -1/+6Find me a kid who wants to stay in an orphanage if you think that gay adoption is wrong.
- wacomwacoff, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Well, it's true, so why wouldn't they believe that? He's been very clear about his opposition to homosexuality.
- lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Incorrect. Children raised from gay parents are equally capable of being confused or not, needing therapy or not, having well-balanced character or not.
The practice of any sexuality should not be illegal because it is injurious to society as a whole. Two people having intercourse IS NOT in anyway injurious to society as a whole, nor to anyone outside of the couple involved. We should not be deceived by anyone that homosexuality be judged differently than heterosexuality.
It is different than the norm behaviors, but doesn't cause demoralization. - mieprowan, on 07/14/2008, -4/+8That man is vile.
- FuryOfThor, on 07/14/2008, -3/+7This is ridiculous. Gay parents have been shown to be just as loving as any "normal" parents, and the unspoken fear that these gay parents might somehow make their children gay too is far more preposterous than the outcome in McCain's world: heterosexual parents leave their kids in orphanages, where they'll be much more likely to follow in their parents' footsteps and live an impoverished life than they would in the care of a family.
- Lyk4n, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4***** John McCain
- lydecker, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3"It's really cool to have two gay dads because they brought us into a home and they adopted us and they love us."

http://www.4children.org/news/101fam.htm - Phyraxus, on 07/15/2008, -2/+5Yeah, especially the unwanted kids, but you shouldn't say worse as that implies that homosexual couples would ***** kids up in the first place.
- EatingPie, on 07/15/2008, -2/+4I'm not sure why his view is constituted "extremism." He says he believes a man and a woman are "important" in the success of a family, and opposes gay adoption on that basis.
Extremists often don't give reasons for their beliefs, and those beliefs tend to be way out of the mainstream. Like it or not, his belief that a man and a woman are "important" to a family is largely shared across the country.
-Pie - wacomwacoff, on 07/15/2008, -3/+5"Mr. McCain: I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no I don’t believe in gay adoption."
Is he really that foolish to think that two men or two women... or a single man or woman.. can't constitute a family?
News flash, Mr. McCain: two adults ARE two parents, regardless of gender. - inactive, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1gay groups anxious over Prop 8
http://digg.com/politics/Gay_Groups_Anxious_Over_A ... - ApokalypseNow, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Correct - it is bad *people* that ***** up kids, not the sexual determination of said people.
- ozydingo, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2I may very well be wrong (my study of Christianity is admittedly limited), but is it not true that the God you believe it is now a God of Grace, whereas He was more in favor or wrath and punishment in the text you describe? Why then are we to believe, even with the many assumptions that you make that I am just giving to you here, that the practice of homosexuality is a danger to society given that millions have practiced it in modern society, and nothing like what you describe in that story has happened since?
And for the record, I do not appreciate the way you make your points. Specifically, you say things that are unsubstantiated, and when you are called out on them you focus on something else to argue back on. I do not believe you have a source for claiming that "Children raised from gay parents will be seriously confused and need therapy to recover so as to give their children a well-balanced character." You cannot claim these sorts of things without being prepared to back up your statements, and when someone calls you out on it it is simply rude and presents yourself as an ignoramus to ignore that point and argue back on a different matter only.
But we have seen thus far that this seems to be the defining characteristic of your debate. See, for example, this thread: http://digg.com/general_sciences/Creationist_criti ... - Nodaki, on 07/15/2008, -2/+2Why is this a question for a potential President?
This is an issue that federal legislation shouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. This should be left up to the adoption agencies and possibly the court system.
Typical media and stupid Americans are asking questions of these candidates that are totally irrelevant. Obama and McCain are not running for supreme emperor. They are running for Commander and Chief, Mr. Veto man, and bureaucratic chief executive. - Cate320, on 07/15/2008, -1/+2Would the child rather have them or no parents at all?
- Coven, on 07/15/2008, -2/+2Justify your objection to his statement, li0il
- inboxnews, on 07/15/2008, -5/+3I'm with McCain on this one, and it's hardly 'extreme'.
- kenrayd, on 07/16/2008, -5/+1McCain is right on. Children raised from gay parents will be seriously confused and need therapy to recover so as to give their children a well-balanced character.
The practice of homosexuality should be federally illegal because it is injurious to society as a whole especially to youth. We should not be deceived by the statement that it is an acceptable alternative lifestyle.
It is perversion as much as human/animal sex and as such causes demoralization of society. It cannot be protected privacy because eventually the truth comes out as to what they are doing. - kenrayd, on 07/18/2008, -5/+1Then how do you explain what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? Fire came down and turned them to ashes. One of their chief sins was sexual immorality. A crowd of ***** attempted to rape Lot's two guests in Sodom.

- poprocksandsoda, on 07/15/2008, -12/+3For those of you not easily affected by propoganda ... the left wants you to believe that "McCain doesn't like homosexuals".
