- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -57/+421Why does it even matter? I have never seen anything Pro-McCain on Digg anyway. Just because SOME anti-McCain stories are buried doesn't mean squat.
- Games4Life, on 08/11/2008, -70/+412And then the McCain Bury Brigade buries this.
- zacharytelschow, on 08/11/2008, -72/+327There isn't a McCain bury brigade anymore than there is a Obama digg brigade.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -39/+195And yet, in that thirty days time, there were probably 100+ anti-mccain stories that made it to the front page, if not more.
This is getting old guys; you're now sounding like the delusional ronpaul supporters who believed there existed a paid group of people to bury him on digg. - damnthatsweird, on 08/11/2008, -16/+156Digg is pretty much an Obama brigade.
- ieee, on 08/11/2008, -28/+128I'm impressed that the LA Times has a story about this
- EatingPie, on 08/11/2008, -24/+119Wow, given that ALL of the articles on McCain that get anywhere near the front page are 100% negative... Yeah, the "bury brigade" is really working!
"My gut is that it's organized," Lewison wrote of the burying patterns. "Though whether directly with the campaign or not, I've got no idea."
-Pie - Dibou, on 08/11/2008, -44/+136It is unbelievable that with all of the incredibly inaccurate Huffington garbage that appears on this site that we didn't bury 100 of their anti-McCain BS.
- vexingmodstwo, on 08/11/2008, -71/+161Are you ***** kidding me? There's 28 negative stories about McCain every hour and the ONLY political stories that make the front page are anti-McCain. Liberals are such whiny pussies it makes me sick.
- lorductape, on 08/11/2008, -30/+115are you kidding me!?!? you seriously think there is a special "brigade" of people burying mccain stories!?
it's called DIGG. have you seen how insanely biased this site is? every political story these days is kissing the ground obama walks on and criticizing every last thing mccain does, even down to him saying he doesn't SLEEP enough.
it's a wonder anyone with an open mind even comes back to this site anymore- I do, and I was a huckabee supporter from the beginning, but i'm rapidly getting tired of the politics section.
digg is now as fair and balanced as fox news.
bury me yeah yeah but I'm goign to go turn off the politicis section all together. That's the last straw. - bitweever, on 08/11/2008, -13/+98Agreed, I viewed the comments to say this. Maybe there's just too many 'McCain is a racist', 'McCain is old' stories, and maybe... just maybe, people get tired of reading that crap.
- cheap2, on 08/11/2008, -15/+96Where do you get those stats?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -18/+99"Coordinated bury activity is not technically a violation of Digg's TOS"...yes it is...shout at your friend's to bury a few different subs and watch what happends to your account...i saw it happen just a few days ago...
TOS, 5-9..."with the intention of artificially inflating or altering the 'digg count', blog count, comments, or any other Digg service, including by way of creating separate user accounts for the purpose of artificially altering Digg's services; giving or receiving money or other remuneration in exchange for votes; or participating in any other organized effort that in any way artificially alters the results of Digg's services;"... - dsarnoLAT, on 08/11/2008, -8/+88I linked to the spreadsheet in the story itself. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pTUl8ENWP_9 ...
The Digg search engine gives you the option of including buried stories in the search results. So if you do two parallel searches for "McCain", one with Not Buried + Buried and one that's just Not Buried, you can figure out which ones were, you know, buried. - marabout40, on 08/11/2008, -52/+124McCain recruiting internet trolls: http://meaningfuldistractions.wordpress.com/2008/0 ...
- JK1150, on 08/11/2008, -19/+87maybe we are just sick of a site we used to go for tech news turning into the huffington post?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -15/+82On 7/23, my completely unscientific survey showed *zero* pro-McCain posts in the top or upcoming lists in 2008 Politics. Except for one bi-partisan joke post, all of those posts were pro-Obama, anti-McCain, or anti-GOP:
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007854.html - inactive, on 08/11/2008, -11/+67LOL is this a joke?
- Hetman, on 08/11/2008, -13/+69Honestly If you look at the list of stories. They have all been on the front page. Seriously there was about 15 articles that made it to the front page about McCain making a rape joke. So one of them got buried? What does that matter? I can gurantee it was a dupe. Anyways I do not bury stories, but if I did I would bury every McCain/Obama story there was. It is a sad day in america when both candidates are unfit to run the U.S.
- bpevans, on 08/11/2008, -21/+74How many of those were Huffington spam? We're tired of the mindless Obama spam getting spewed on Digg.
- Tomboys, on 08/11/2008, -49/+99They did the same to Hillary. It's really a brgade that diggs up all Obama stories and diggs down and positive stories about his competitors.
- Monk22, on 08/11/2008, -16/+66i would venture a guess to say most of us are just tired of hearing about trivial ***** that mccain does. OMG he winked three times and farted DIGGGGGGG!
- minox, on 08/11/2008, -14/+63I can't believe this isn't a The Onion article.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -38/+86Ugh...why is there a constant liberal bias on this site? Every post I read is anti-McCain, or pro-Obama crap. Who runs this site ... the ACLU/MoveOn.org?
- SRSco, on 08/11/2008, -7/+55How many articles critical of Obama have been buried?
Edit: I RTFA and found out that according to the writer, only 5 have ben buried. - Skywise, on 08/11/2008, -17/+65Obama bury brigade? Where ARE the anti-Obama articles?
- dupems, on 08/11/2008, -27/+73Considering 99% of the McCain stories that make it to the front page are from Huffington Post/DailyKos/JedReport I'm not surprised in the least that they get buried to oblivion. Seriously all you god damn whiners out there thinking there's a "conspiracy" or something need look no further than the source.
- matu4251, on 08/12/2008, -6/+50if there was a bury brigade then it does a lousy job for letting this one through its nets... Seriously, Digg has become an Obama plateform, this story is ridiculous.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -42/+83Newsflash: Nobody cares about Digg so much that they would assemble a "Brigade" to bury stories.......
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -18/+50We dealt with it during Ron Paul, now it's your turns.
- bacterio, on 08/11/2008, -23/+52Erm. I bury all news from the Huffington post and thinkprogress even though I am not American. Can I get paid for this?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -11/+39weren't almost all of those stories there duplicates?
- SpartanErik, on 08/11/2008, -20/+47Obama's Digg Brigade: Too Many Digg stories in 30 Days
- Muzikal203, on 08/11/2008, -17/+44And Obama supporters simply re-submit it,and it gets dugg even faster.
- ieee, on 08/11/2008, -11/+36I think you have it backwards ( no offense ), from the article:
"A close look at campaign-oriented stories on Digg shows that, in the last 30 days, at least 28 stories critical of GOP Sen. John McCain "
Stories CRITICAL of McCain are being buried. That is the reverse of what Obama would benefit from. - cheap2, on 08/11/2008, -1/+25Thanks!
- JayTee44, on 08/11/2008, -28/+52I for one am glad the 'McCain is evil' stories are being buried. Waaaaay too much critical McCain stuff on digg.. sick of seeing it.
- peticsu, on 08/11/2008, -2/+26"Buried for anything that makes Digg'ers think they are important."
right back atcha - 0gre, on 08/11/2008, -14/+36Don't you know, Obama never does wrong, there are not anti Obama articles.
The clouds part when he walks outside and flowers bloom in his footprints. When Obama pees it's collected and sprinkled over fields to feed the poor. - Games4Life, on 08/11/2008, -4/+26Same. At first I was like, "what two-bit blog is it this time?" and then I saw the url.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -18/+38Any one else not give a ***** about this?
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -7/+27Hi, I bury every Obama article because its annoying spam. I bury anti-McCain articles out of spite for the Obama-spam, because they're proberly dugg up by the same people.
- MikeFallopian, on 08/11/2008, -6/+24Right, there's a huge organized group burying anti-McCain articles, but not digging up any pro-McCain articles. That makes perfect sense. Someone should tell Jed Lewison that his submissions are getting buried because his website sucks.
- nationalist, on 08/12/2008, -3/+21@brock
old-school conservatism - intelligence
social conservatism - immaturity - caoimhinn, on 08/11/2008, -5/+23Second.
Well put. - charm803, on 08/11/2008, -3/+20Seeing that many anti McCain stories get through anyway, I would say the Bury Brigade isn't doing a good job.
- FUR10N, on 08/11/2008, -7/+23a good number of the articles are sensationalist ***** anyways
- JayTee44, on 08/11/2008, -25/+41I for one am glad the 'McCain is evil' stories are being buried. Waaaaay too much critical McCain stuff on digg.. sick of seeing it.
- upnortherik, on 08/11/2008, -3/+19*****.
- planet87, on 08/11/2008, -0/+15Have you been to the Digg Candidates section and noticed the imbalance?
