- Linguo, on 10/27/2008, -0/+9McCain either lies or get's his facts wrong every single day. Seriously, what does this guy have to offer?
- MorganMghee, on 10/27/2008, -0/+7I can't believe it. I so couldn't believe it that I went searching for the previous articles and video of interviews where he erroneously stated that same thing. Sure enough, I wasn't having a nightmare and surely my imagination isn't of the stuff that could make this up. So, is it his blithering campaign staff that are too stupid or intimidated to let the Senator know he's made a factual error? Is there an active sub-campaign being executed from within the party to ensure these small but game changing mistakes continue to happen? Or, was he told about the error and he forgot? Did he choose to make the blunder (again) because he's given up and has decided that this job is not for him, after all?
In any case, do we need a president that a) can't put together a trustworthy, effective staff? b) can't remember pertinent information given to him multiple times regarding an issue/person as important as someone he was considering as both Secretary of the Treasury AND/OR Vice President?
For my trouble, my search provided me with a good laugh. Check out the picture http://www.236.com/images/photo2/6374/original/ori ... - inactive, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3McCain couldn't tell the truth if he tried!
- writie, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3I wouldn't call this a lie.
- MorganMghee, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3You're right. I've said it before and sadly it still appears to be true. McCain is not aware that we can see and hear him. His every word, gesture and written word. He fails to understand the enormity of access, information and communications that most Americans and an awful lot of people worldwide have 24 hour access to. I think this election may mark the end of the political tradition of balancing flowery, misdirecting comments with flat out lies they don't think a) anyone will notice b) too many people will check if they do notice c) they won't remember very long if they do find the truth after checking d) most people won't spread the word.
- keigwyn, on 10/27/2008, -0/+3Remember, McCain doesn't know how to use the Internets, so he can't imagine the fact that people will pay attention and fact check the veracity of what he has stated.
I'm sure he's convinced himself that she's the founder of E-Bay because it just sounds better. You say something enough and it becomes true, to you and those who aren't paying any attention, at least. - hawkeye17, on 10/27/2008, -0/+2And Joe the Plumber is the CEO of Whirlpool.
- keigwyn, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1Exactly, MorganMghee. Sometimes I wonder if McCain lives in a bubble that rejects anything he hears that doesn't fit with his idea of himself and the reality he thinks exists--him and his more extreme followers, including Palin. From the whacko fear-mongers I've heard and read that seem to believe everything that comes out of his mouth without thinking about it.
