Guilt by association for McCain? I really don't think he wants to go there. There's a ton of stuff out there about McCain, just waiting to drop. It only needed the excuse ... - algaeturd, on 10/06/2008, -5/+68Obama's team needs to call them out on this and fight fire with fire.
You know where the high road leads to in America?
Not to the ***** White House, that's for sure.
But LOOK! You'll be able to sit back with Gore and Kerry and say, 'I took the high road!'
And then that and $2.00 will get you a cup of coffee.
Obama is going to LOSE this thing if he isn't careful. He needs to come out strong and hard. Americans don't want an intellect as president, unfortunately, They're dumb enough to vote for Bush twice...they want someone with a spine and Obama in his 'high road' stance may be a breath of fresh air but how fresh is that air going to be when McCain and Palin take the White House? - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/06/2008, -2/+55"Obama is not god! Please O' please get that through your head."
Get this thru your head: we don't view Obama as god. We view him as our NEXT President.
Got it? - peheimbach, on 10/05/2008, -9/+58In the words of Harry Calahan in "Dirty Harry:
"You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky?
Well, do ya, punk?" - mariathepirate, on 10/06/2008, -2/+44But . . . but he's a maverick!
A MAVERICK. - JoeMondo, on 10/06/2008, -1/+41The historic Dems you speak of - the Dixiecrats - became today's Republicans. Matter of record.
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/06/2008, -3/+43Paul Begala is a constant razor blade to the Republicans' throat.
Later in the interview, Begala challenged the Obama not to just use "Rapid Defense" but a "Rapid Offense" against this sleazy McCain slime lies.
I hope the Obama follows his sage advice.... rapidly. - Ajajadude, on 10/06/2008, -1/+36I think Republicans are just jealous, am I right? I mean, Democrats never have, and never will, refer to Obama as God. But, Republicans like to think Democrats have that mindset. Is it because he's the ideal candidate?
- aussiejan, on 10/06/2008, -1/+32It is interesting that whenever I see Obama referred to as God or the Messiah, it is always a Republican saying it. I've never seen an Obama supporter say it.
- charm803, on 10/06/2008, -1/+25I will never replace my god with Obama. My god is not a jealous god, but just in case , I won't try to piss off the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
But I will vote for Obama.
(Seriously, are McCain/Palin the best you have?) - fiatjustitia, on 10/06/2008, -1/+24"I've never seen an Obama supporter say it."
and you never will, I think most people except for those on the far right would never say it. - NerveBand, on 10/06/2008, -1/+23Has this ever been called out on Mainstream Media? Why the hell is this the first time I'm hearing about it o.0?
- PedoRcketSrgeon, on 10/06/2008, -0/+21I've been wondering that too. It's almost like... . like . . an election is coming!

The Democrats of the 1870s are more than a bit different than the Democrats of the 2000s. The same holds for the Republican Party. - sulthernao, on 10/06/2008, -1/+21And Republicans freed the slaves... You also realize that the Democrats of today passed the Civil Rights bills.

- wilhoitm, on 10/06/2008, -2/+19This explains why McCain could not look at Obama during the debate!

- chevriley, on 10/06/2008, -1/+16and palin too. when she denied obama's patriotism on that basis then her speaking engagements for her and her husband's alaskan crazies (AIP) comes up etc etc etc.
- RodBorn, on 10/06/2008, -1/+16completely exonerated? Nope. Forgotten about? probably....
here's one that has NEVER been fully investigated...yet.

- headzoo, on 10/06/2008, -0/+15I can understand not being comfortable voting for someone you don't know much about (although that's your fault for not doing your research). Unfortunately for McCain, we do know a lot about him, and much of it is negative.
Additionally: Palin. What do you know about her?
America is a great country, and most of us want to keep it that way, which is why we're not voting for Bush v2.0. - headzoo, on 10/06/2008, -5/+20Palin has forgotten a simple childhood lesson: Those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

- JoeMondo, on 10/06/2008, -0/+13Wright is a pig. But all he did was SAY things.
McCain's allies are worse - they're bigger pigs with more power, and real crimes. - eVi0let, on 10/06/2008, -1/+14loki49152: It's not a non-story if the 'smack talk express' is going to play guilt by association with Obama.

- JedicodeWarrior, on 10/06/2008, -4/+17"Does McCain really want to play the 'guilt by association' game?" So, does that mean he's guilty of associating with racists and anti-semites?
- stillcool, on 10/06/2008, -3/+15uh-oh. I feel the Keating Five making a come back in a big way. McCain did a lot more than sit on the board of a charitable foundation with Charles Keating. Johnny boy should know that if you play with matches you sometimes get burned.
- NYConcepts, on 10/06/2008, -1/+13That's the quote of the year!
- eVi0let, on 10/06/2008, -0/+12Not only does McCain have this as his "Ayers", but Palin has them as well. She is married to someone who was a member of the AIP, a party known to platform with Alaska's secession from the union.
The point being, such McCarthyism should be called out for what it is in this day and age. I would hazard a guess that as the world continues to shrink and we all become more connected via teh internets, we all have (or will have) associations such as these. - Idgit, on 10/06/2008, -1/+12Actually, he is THE MAVRICK

Really? - cheeitzcracker, on 10/06/2008, -0/+10To U4Real - I don't share your fears of Obama. I do have those same feelings for what we've actually seen the Bush administration do in the past eight years - and a McCain presidency promises more of the same. America can't survive more of the same. I am quite sure of that. The world can't survive more Bush doctrine.
But I also like Obama. I like his even temper, his command of the language, of events, of situations. I admire and respect his knowledge and the way he uses it to a considered and rational point. I'm voting for a leader, not a bully.
Here's a question for you: You come to a fork in the road. One road contains the same enormous potholes, slick spots and dangerous drop offs, perhaps even curvier and more treacherous than the last several, shady, pitfall-prone miles you've traveled.
The other way looks smooth, more even, better lit. Maybe not traveled as much, but more in tact, newer, cleaner, fresher.
Which road do you take? After nearly totaling the vehicle on the old road, why wouldn't we take a chance on a path that looks much better as far as the eye can see? I'm hoping that that choice becomes clearer and clearer for Americans, especially as the election becomes dirtier, as McCain boasts it's going to be. - incredibilistic, on 10/06/2008, -3/+12The fact that the MSM is talking about this is great because they'll continue to talk about how desperate and fleeting this strategy is. People, hopefully, will see just how hopeless McCain is in the last month of this election. The McCain camp has run out of options and this will NOT win them the White House. Obama will be able to play the role of the adult in the remaining days of this race.
Stick a fork (and an I.V.) in McCain, he's done. - silenceissexy, on 10/06/2008, -0/+9Amen.
- cheesegypsy, on 10/06/2008, -2/+11Of course it is. Most of the conservatives are over at foxnews.com or whacking off to a Sarah Palin photo.
