Party Chairwoman Sue Everhart, who spoke first, was one of the few to mention the name of the current Republican president, George W. Bush.
Everhart, like almost all the others, praised McCain. She at one point likened McCain's years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam to Jesus Christ's suffering on the cross.
"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross," Everhart said. "He never denounced God, either. I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I'm looking at the pain that was there." - dmjarrington, on 05/18/2008, -0/+4After reading this article I feel like I could punch somebody. I think it's excellent that these bastards actually admitted that the only reason those delegates were voted in was because they were McCain supporters. It shows just what a sham this whole convention process actually is. There is no contest. The winner was decided from the beginning and so was the loser.
What is the point of a debate if everyone believes in the same thing?!?! Why have a convention if it's already decided?... And if McCain was really already the nominee then why do you care if we have delegates? - avengingturnip, on 05/18/2008, -0/+4The Republican Party is now the party of blasphemy, to add to its other infamies. Maybe next she can tell us how Jesus shared an apartment with two Vietnamese hookers and afterwards divorced his frump of a wife to marry a hot number who was 20 years his junior.
- SoyJames, on 05/18/2008, -0/+4Pathetic. The GOP is slitting it's own neck, and refuses to let anybody stop it.
- dmjarrington, on 05/18/2008, -0/+3I'm not sure the GOP sees it that way... They are largely morons of course.
- submitdig, on 05/20/2008, -0/+2"John McCain is like Jesus"??? They're utterly and pathetically delusional.
- rmtatum, on 05/20/2008, -0/+2Watch the convention at

I was there. It was a total farce. The Ga GOP is touting the McInsane ticket right down to their grave. If they wish, Ron Paul supporters can save their party. The GOP will lose the election this fall. Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate that could have defeated Clinton or Obama.
