McCain: for Medicare cuts before he was against them

thinkprogress.org — Despite Proposing $1.3 Trillion In Medicare Cuts Last Year, McCain Condemns Much Smaller Cuts In Senate Bill. Republicans wanted to strip funding from Medicare to ultimately kill the program. Democrats are finding cost savings to extend the solvency of Medicare and expand the number of seniors eligible for assistance with premiums and co-pays.

  • LinuxPerson, on 12/02/2009, -0/+4McCain is well known for flip-flopping and having absolutely no principled integrity. This is a guy who went from traditional conservative to hardcore neoconservative lunatic in a matter of a few years.

    Remember that he ran against Bush in the 2000 primaries and the two were mortal enemies. Late in the primaries the Bush campaign, under the leadership of the arch-type neoconservative Karl Rove, did some very questionable things (i.e. lying, slander, etc.) to disenfranchise McCain, yet 8 years later he was practically Bush's best friend.

The comment box will still be available to type in but when you post the comment, it will be placed on the root level of the thread tree instead of being nested within the parent comment you replied to.
