- dprodigy19, on 09/29/2008, -2/+66For five and a half years, John McCain couldn't take credit for passing failed legislation
(Sorry, someone had to post it) - writerswrite, on 09/29/2008, -3/+61So, let me get this straight. If I want to see how things get done in Washington, I should check out John McCain? Swimming in lobbyists -- check! Grandstanding -- check! Putting politics ahead of the people -- check! All spin, no substance -- check!
Yup, I'd say Romney's right on the money. - dagnabbit, on 09/29/2008, -1/+55For added hilarity:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/sgilman/Iron ... - r00fus, on 09/29/2008, -2/+53Worst Campaign Evar. No, seriously. My Republican friends are reminiscing about how effective Dole was in comparison.
- AmazingSteve, on 09/29/2008, -4/+44OWNED again. Just further proof that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing in the obviously panicked campaign. Just get those talking points out there. It's like McSame's on fire and the party keeps trying to beat the flames out with hammer. A hammer made of gasoline.
- angusm, on 09/30/2008, -1/+40"Senator McCain, how would you respond to media comments that you appear to be campaigning in a parallel universe?"
- algaeturd, on 09/30/2008, -4/+32I remember thinking Dan Quayle was dumb. Dan Quayle looks like a Kennedy compared to McCain.
- dprodigy19, on 09/29/2008, -1/+26It's easy to get work done when success isn't a prerequisite
- redcolumbine, on 09/29/2008, -0/+19I was wondering the same thing! Delusions sure enable one to get a whole lot done, don't they?
- crapuccino, on 09/30/2008, -2/+20You forgot the worst attendance record in the Senate.
- BeeArePro, on 09/30/2008, -2/+19Reminds me of "The fundamentals of our economy are strong" right before the first major stock market crash. Classic.
- chervianne, on 09/30/2008, -1/+17... and it didn't even pass!!!!! Will he say mea culpa and accept responsibility for that. Talk about shooting your mouth off before the game is over... wow!
- mikealive, on 09/30/2008, -0/+11"He's been the guy whose name is at the top of major pieces of legislation for a long time."
and look where we are! - EarlOfLade, on 09/30/2008, -2/+13You also forgot that he has the best records on supporting veterans orally and the worst record for supporting them with votes.
- EarlOfLade, on 09/30/2008, -0/+10Really?
She thinks humans and dinosaurs walked the earth together...
http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/DonExodus ... - inactive, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9Since he claimed credit for winning the debates beforehand, and now is claiming credit for this, I think Americans should honestly look at how they're claiming credit. Maybe we've got it all wrong? I think I'll go ahead and take credit for sleeping with Jessica Alba and making cold fusion a reality... it'll happen, right, RIGHT?!
- PleaseJustDie, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9The article says his campaign claimed credit for it before the vote on monday.
- AZRoboto, on 09/30/2008, -1/+9They forgot the /s tag
- acrodev, on 09/30/2008, -2/+10Did it happen before or after the bailout failed?
- socalftw, on 09/30/2008, -1/+8Success = Fail. wut?
- OtterStratton, on 09/30/2008, -2/+9". . . if people want to get something done in Washington, they just watch John McCain,"
You got that right! Nobody has done this much [damage*] in Washington since George Bush!
*clarification added - DarkPrincess74, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7Ironically if McCain hadn't give house republicans a chance to be heard then they would have had a much harder time rallying to stop the bill. Its failure only resulted in a nearly 800 point drop in the stock market, credit freezes and the spreading of fear throughout the economy. Those kinds of things never hurt us in the past right? /s
BTW Romney is a tool and Massachusetts is better off without him. - MKSinSA, on 09/29/2008, -0/+6sgilman is my hero!! This would have evaporated into cyberspace rather quickly, I'm afraid. John McCain, the intertubes are not your friend.
- hiriumi, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6This bailout plan is really pissing me off. Really, I'm so pissed. Why? Because the politicians are not holding anyone accountable. And what the politicians do? Try to scare the ***** out of tax payers and rob us of our money. I am really pissed, people. What has this country become? When I was a child, I grew up admiring this country and came here, but she has all been gone. I'm going home.
- cleric04, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6John McCain is a time traveler haven't you seen the daily show? He already knows its going to pass.
- smacksaw, on 09/30/2008, -4/+10The people who support McCain, more often than not, believe their own set of "truths" anyway. So they can believe McCain succeeded. Why? Because they'd never let something like "facts" get in the way.
McCain knows this. He counts on this. Think about it. McCain knows you'll lap up anything he says or does not because he's earned it or that you're even a critical thinker. He knows you won't think, you don't want to think and you're not going to bother starting now.
Partisanship is a beautiful thing. - PecanHead, on 09/30/2008, -0/+6***** patato is hard to spell, man.
- pintomp3, on 09/30/2008, -2/+8what's why you don't count your mcchickens before they hatch.
- Emmo213, on 09/30/2008, -0/+5Sink ships
- Chebsi, on 09/30/2008, -2/+7It's funny because the McCain camp claimed credit for the bailout, yet bailout wasn't successful.
- rondeth, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4Chris Rock was on the Stern show last week sometime, was asked about the Palin pick: "Man, that pick was so bad, I thought Al Davis made it!"
You probably need to be an NFL fan to get that, BTW. Cheers! - captnkurt, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4...gather no moss?
- smacksaw, on 09/30/2008, -1/+5Ok, fine.
No matter what McCain says or does, he's a hypocrite. He is immune to the facts.
Obama, Paul, Nader, Barr and Baldwin have all actually responded to facts and had intelligent responses. - SnuKs, on 09/30/2008, -2/+6Way to go retard.
- Schmapdi, on 09/30/2008, -0/+4Vote for Mccain - he's already won the next two debates handily, bailed out the country, as won the following wars: Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Belgium, Kansas, and Narnia.
Plus he won the NBA slam dunk championship from 2009-2017, MVP'ing in no fewer than 3 Super Bowls along the way.
What - this just in from the McCain camp - it seems the people of Earth have already elected him emporer for life! All hail McCain! - Elranzer, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3I haven't seen a campaign this bad since Kennedy whopped Richard Milhouse Nixon.
- ethanpack, on 09/30/2008, -1/+4It's a slap (to the forehead!)
- mtayl75234, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3Now he takes credit for bail-out; now he doesn't. What is this called? Everyone together now -- FLIP FLOP. Remember that famous term coined by Karl Rove. Yes, you got it. That's all McCain has done is flip-flopped. I get almost hysterical whenever I hear him talk about being a "change" candidate. Let's get real.
- johnnr2, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3Then what's that brown spot on Mitt's nose?
- Hamletlere, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3Perhaps the Republicans (and Democrats) shouldn't be railroaded into a plan without careful consideration, and strong disincentives included to keep the banks from doing it again?
Have you noticed that this plan has us buying more bad credit from the banks than just mortgages? Now, we will be buying credit card debt that won't be repaid either! Woohoo!
Do you think Citigroup would have bought Wachovia, heavily laden with subprime mortgages, if they didn't think the government would soon remove those bad mortgages from their books? So now, instead of being punished for bad risk taking, banks like Citi are going to come out stronger and bigger than ever, having bought out their rivals and then having their bad debts taken over by the government.
Are you really sure you wanted them to vote "yes" on this plan? I'm not! - Elranzer, on 09/30/2008, -1/+4Before Voting on Bail-Out: "I, John McCain, claim all credit for this bail-out."
After Bail-out Vote Fails: "This is not the time to be blaming anyone... except Democrats." - 1hrSleep, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3Someone needs to get you guys a proverb book or something. This mix and match *****'s gotta go.
- headzoo, on 09/30/2008, -0/+3Another song that seems fitting:

(Benny Hill theme song) - Kohaxx, on 09/30/2008, -1/+4You forgot the e.
P-O-T-A-T-O-E
Man, I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. - solefald, on 09/30/2008, -0/+2like anyone with a even a half of a brain cares whos ass Mitt Romney is kissing.
- dcbpe, on 09/30/2008, -1/+3I now have 700,000,000,000 more reasons not to vote for McCain.
Excuse me while I go throw some gas on the fire consuming my Republican membership card... - rumblestrut, on 09/30/2008, -0/+2Someone didn't get the memo.
- Faulk28, on 09/30/2008, -0/+2If you want to throw stones at McCain/Palin and not have to worry about getting them through an editorial/peer review just post on Digg or Reddit!
